Thank goodness I bought the 4 year warranty from best buy on this vacuum. Bought it because it was supposed to clean pet hair. Worked great for 4 months then the brush stopped spinning, checked the belt and everything and it was fine. Brush spins on bare floor but stops when it hits the carpet which is what I bought it for the carpet! And this is with the setting set all the way to high pile carpet. Belt and motor got so hot it burned my finger when I checked it. All it does is spit the dirt everywhere and does not pick it up. Makes a huge mess and now I don't have a vacuum to pick it up with as it will take a couple of weeks to get back from repair. Don't 'invest on this vacuum look elsewhere. This is the second Bissell I got the first one stopped working after 1 1/2 years. Had a dirt devil years ago and that lasted 5 years.

this vaccum is terrible the attatchment hose constantly stops working suction is awful!! Its heavy and difficult to clean stairs with I have had to take this vacuum to get fixed four times for the same suction issues ridiculous!!

I am just going to speak on the biggest flaw that I have found...After a short period of time the brushes stopped spinning as soon as you put it on the carpet. My first machine broke within a month and this latest one broke within 3 months. I believe I saw one other review commenting on this as well, it is obviously a know issue. I bought this product because i have furry little creature running around the house, so I thought this would stand up to her hair....I was wrong. I am taking mine in to the geek squad today, wish me luck... I have never been more thankful that I purchased a warranty, and now I pray they will let me dump this thing and give another one a shot. I can only pray. If you purchase this machine at least get an extended warranty...you will most likely need it.

After a year I have bought a new vacuum (The Shark) When I first got the Pet Hair Eraser It picked up a lot of hair but when you use the hose, the open end of the tubing spits up dust and pet hair as I vacuumed with the hose...not a good thing to happen since I am trying to vacuum. The canister is a mess to empty...the Shark, the whole part comes out so there is no need to touch the dirt... Afte a year of using the Pet Hair Eraser, the suction has stopped and the brushes have stopped spinning....

My wife and I were looking for a new vacuum in a certain price range and this bissell has been outstanding.

Did not know it was self propelled, Dyson is TOO over rated, and cost TOO much. This beats the Dirtdevil.

Light weight Gets rid of all dog hair No mess when removing dirt and dog hair from the bagless depenser.

I have a Siberian Husky and vaccuum 900 sq ft weekly. At least once, I have to stop and unplug the wind tunnel. Also, it doesn't come with a flat attachment to vaccuum the pool table with. If I could go back in time, I would not have chosen this vaccuum.

I have a problem with dog hair, so I bought the "Pet Hair Eraser" to help. I think it should be renamed the "Pet Hair pusher and shover" to be accurate. Even when I used my hand to losen hair from the furniture and carpets, the best this worthless piece of junk would do is wind it up in the beater bar. And the air-operated brush wand was even worse. Not only did it not pick up much hair, but when it did manage to pick up loose hair, it wound around the small beater bar, causing it to jam. I sincerely felt that this was the worst vacuum I've ever purchased and I've crossed Bissell off my list for the future. I tossed mine in the local land fill, putting it where I think it belongs!

had for just under one year and it stopped picking up. at first i had the capet height set very low and it worked great. now i have it set to the highest setting and it willl get stuck on the carpet and not even spin. not durable to last.

I returned this vacuum today after 6 weeks of trying to make it work well. I tired different settings, as well as elevating and lowering the arm at the front of the vacuum. I found that this vacuum left balls of carpet fuzz and pet hair everywhere. I then had to crawl around on my hands and knees picking these up. I don't recommend this vacuum if you have cats, as I do. I vacuum frequently, so this was not due to an unusual amount of pet hair. Because I did not return it within 30 days, I was given a store credit. If you decide to try this machine, make sure it works for you within the time frame allowed for returns. Good luck.

Bought this vacuum after reading wonderful reviews. I have two cats and a dog. I was in need of getting a vacuum that could handle my cleaning needs. Once purchased it was great, at first. Only after a couple of months it completely lost suction and when rolling across the rug the brush will not spin. The strip that is supposed to catch the hair and then be sucked up by the vacuum, does nothing more than leave a strip of dust and hair on the rug. I will never buy a bissell again. The dirt devil that I gave to goodwill after buyng this may have been heavy, but was way better than this.

It burns Belts Because the floor brushes stay on when you are using the accessories. I returnd it and upgraded to the "lift off" which was $30 more and it has a switch to shut the brushes off!!!

Owned 7 months...problems began in month 3 (brush did not turn consistently). Now the brush only turns on highest setting and suction is diminished. Spoke with Bissell customer "service" rep, who said he doubted what I told him about my never having to replace a belt in the first year with any vacuum I owned. He suggested that I only vacuumed "once a month or so" with other vacuums...and was using the Bissell more often. Overall, I can say that my dissatisfaction with the vacuum is only surpassed by my dissatisfaction with Bissell customer service.

ABSOLUTLY THE BEST VACUUME PURCHASE I HAVE EVER MADE!

I spent two weeks trying to convince myself that this vaccuum is ok, and that I can keep it... no success. let me be fair, it does pick up hair and frizz.... but throws a certain amount of them while you vaccum... I was also doing the stairs when litteraly everything flew on me !!! I have no idea where they came out from ! All the frizz end the dirt.... kinda like snow !! I don't even know why this thing has 4.6 out of 5 stars... I decided I had enough... I returned it yesterday and bought Dyson DC25....

This was a great vacuum for the first few months. I have 4 cats so I vacuum pretty often and I was amazed at how much I vacuumed up in the beginning. Then after a few months the brush just stopped working when on carpet. I cleaned everything out, and checked the belt and it was fine. You also cannot vacuum bare floors with it. Do NOT waste your money on this product.

This vacum has two filters that must be cleaned constantly. It kicks out the dirt on bare floors. I vacuum my floors daily so it is not like I have an extrodianary amont of dirt and hair. After using this vaccum it was necessary to sweep the floor. Bissell's customer service was worth less than zero. They recommended I buy another vacuum for the bare floors.

Not only did it break after 4 months the main roller end broke and caused hot black plastic to spit out and melt and stain my carpet. Had another main brand in the past and never had a problem. Looks like i will be going back to that brand...for the price of a new carpet and a new vacuum i could have gotten a gold plated vacuum.....

I bought this vacuum and it broke after 8 months. My husband tried to fix it but we gave up because we didn't like it anyways. This vacuum was really messy to change the canister and clean the filters. The canister is also very small and fills quickly. My house always smelt very dusty after vacuuming. Don't buy this vacuum!!!
