We purchased this vacuum because we have a dog that sheds alot. The vacuum did a great job of picking up the hair, dirt, etc. Unfortunately, the vacuum only lasted 12 months. Now it makes a horrendous noise and has lost most of its suction power. I disassembled the vacuum to look for a clog, but there was none. It appears the electric motor has gone bad. It begins to overheat if used for more than 5 minutes. Resulting in a burning plastic smell. The cost to repair it is going to exceed the cost of a new one. I'm going to purchase a Dyson.

We were a bit reluctant to buy a Bissell based on past experience but took a chance on this model because of the reviewer comments and high rating. We have had this vaccum cleaner two days now and my wife is very happy with how much dirt and hair this machine picks up- Even after using other vacuums and cleaners. And I am amazed at how great this thing works. The only thing remaining is to see how long it lasts. For now though, we are very pleased with it. And we appreciate the fact that the other reviews were here to read.

Was very pleased with this product. It sucked up a whole bunch of stuff even after I had just cleaned my carpets. The hose is very long so I don't have to keep carrying up the stairs. However, when using the brush with the hose attachment the pet hair gets stuck and the machine keeps showing green/ black meaning partial clog. I don't like that you have to unscrew the brush to de-clog and it gets clogged from pet hair with every use . Over all I am very happy with this vacuum. It picks up everything and then some!

I purchased this vacuum based on all of the reviews. I thought it was worth a try since my two dogs shed badly this time of year. I got it home, put it together and gave it a whirl. It wasn't nearly as noisy as my old vacuum. It got full in no time, but I knew that would happen from the reviews. I was amazed at how well it worked! It picked up all of the dog hair and got my carpet really clean. I would recommend this vacuum to anyone. If you have trouble with it, you must have gotten a dud because it's simply awesome!

I debated between this vacuum and the Dyson animal and wish I had gone with the Animal. I have had the vacuum for 7 months (used it less than 4) and have already had to replace the belt and have to take in for other repairs as it is no longer suctioning and is making a horrific noise. It cannot cope with long hair. However, in all fairness it does work pretty well for pet hair.

I have a yellow lab that sheds alot, almost year round. We also have a long haired cat. My previous vaccum did a good job, but I needed to replace it. I researched vacuums and have owned a Bissell in the past that I liked as well. Many of the reviews I read were really good for pet hair and I totally agree. I would highly recommend it...one sweep and the hair is picked up. The attachments are great as well, especially for getting pet hair off upholstery. I would buy this one again...it was easy to set up and use.

I bought this vacuum about 2 months ago, after my old vac died after years of pet hair clogging it. I read the reviews on this one and was immediatly impressed. It works like a dream on my carpet and furniture. I have 5 cats so I need a sturdy vacuum. The attachments work great and the extra long cord makes it convenient to go from one room to another without stopping. I have recommended this vac to several people and one of them just bought one last night. If you have any animals, this is an absolute must have.

I purchased the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser nearly two months ago, and have used it on a daily basis ever since. Performance wise, it certainly seems to live up to its name, eagerly removing even the most stubborn pet hair from both carpet and furniture. The tools are easily engaged and very efficient; I've found them to be one of the best features of this vacuum. The turbo brush has a miniature beater-bar in it, and in design works almost as well has my hand held Dirt Devil when used on furniture or especially the dog bed. One point I am particularly pleased about is the flexibility of the vacuum hose, which stretches out generously and doesn't affect the balance of the unit at all. (my previous vacuum, a Hoover Wind-Tunnel, was known for spontaneously tipping over backwards while using the hose, a quite alarming experience) The cyclone action of the tank spins all hair and debris into a compact ball and is easily removed – a task that should be done, in my opinion, outside only due to the dust that always manages to escape while emptying. I find a swifter or a few damp paper towels help to keep the tank clean, along with an occasional wash in warm water. The tank also seems to fill up quite quickly, and would probably have to be emptied multiple times, depending on how many heavy shedding pets you own. At first glance the over-sized construction of this vacuum appears burdensome, but when in use it smoothly propels across the carpet with minimal effort. The large handle definitely provides an added ease of maneuverability. The only faults I've hereto noticed are that the front nose piece or “pet hair lifter” is quite fragile and wouldn't survive much abuse – yet the vacuum comes with a feature that allows you to flip the nose piece upward and out of the way if so desired. Out of the box assembly took about 45 minutes and the absence of illustrations on the instruction booklet made it a bit more of a chore than was necessary. Price-wise this vacuum is an exceptional deal. I comparison shopped for quite some time and could find no equal. Overall very satisfied.

I love using this vacummn!!! its a joy to see all the crud in the canister, when I first got this machine my husband & I fought over who got to vacummn, we literally raced thru each room to see how much dirt & pet hair was there! I actually saved a baggy full of dirt & hair for my girlfriends to see, pretty disgusting! but more disgusting was knowing all that filth had been in my carpets all along!! I have a new grandbaby & feel much better about the cleanliness of my carpets & my home. Thanks Bissell!

We have 2 cats, one a long haired and this vacumn is absolutely the best I have ever had. I was totally blown away by the amount of cat hair, dust, dander, etc. that my older Hoover upright was missing and that vac wasn't that old. Litterally about half a plastic grocery bag of "gunk" and it hadn't been that long since my last vacuming. Our carpets and rugs "look" clean until you use the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser !!! I HIGHLY recommend this vacumn especially it you have pets and even if you don't. Would help tremendously with allergies also !!! I live in a new construction house and couldn't believe the Bissell Hair Eraser even pulled left over sheet rock dust up through the padding and carpet. DON'T waste your hard earned money on any other vacumn !! I've even use an over priced Dyson and it "sucks" (in a bad way) compared to the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser !!! The on deck attachments are great also, long flexible hose, small attachment for sofa's etc..!!!

I purchased this vac last weekend after seeing a commercial for it before Christmas and waiting for it to go on sale. I was giddy over my purchase and couldn't wait to use it. This vac has serious "Suction"...my husband could feel the floor vibrating from across the room. Assembly was simple...3 screws to attach the handle. I only have a cat, but she likes to lay on all the furniture and the floor, so there is always cat hair on everything. When I plugged it in and began vacuuming, I was amazed...you can hear the debris being sucked up into the vacuum. I vacuumed only a small area of my living room at first (20x10), where the cat likes to lay on the floor...and I had to empty the canister. It had a ball of cat hair the size of a baseball plus the sand/dirt from down in the carpet. I had to empty the canister 4 times for the downstairs. Then I used it upstairs (kind of heavy to carry, but not a big deal) and had to empty it 2 times while vacuuming 3 bedrooms plus hallway. After I finished vacuuming, the carpets looked brand new and they felt plush again! The tool attachments are versatile, great for all kinds of surfaces. They are so firmly placed on the vacuum, that I had trouble removing them. I also used it on the stairs...it is awkward, but I knew it would be before I bought it. It doesn't get very close to the baseboards, but then, there several tool attachements that will. I waited 5 days and vacuumed again...this time I only had to empty the canister 2 times downstairs. I also dissassembled the canister's upper and lower parts and washed them to remove dust that had accumulated inside the componets. It was really dirty! It has a long cord, so I don't have to unplug and plug to finish the downstairs. The hose is longer than most vacuums I've owned in the past, so you don't have to have the vac hovering right on top of you while using. I definitely recommend this vacuum, not only if you own pets, but kids and a spouse, too. I never realized how bad my old vac didn't SUCK, until I bought this one.

Like others have said, I vacuum alot and I was amazed at how much dirt came up the first time I used this vacuum. It was very easy to assemble, I got it done in about 10 minutes, including having the dogs checking out the new "toy." What a great price too, I had been looking at the Dyson, but I couldn't justify spending that kind of money. This vacuum does the job for a fraction of the cost.

Had this vac for a month and it is worth every penny. Dogs track in sand from outside and this thing sounds like a sand blaster sucking it up. Great on hair. So powerful it feels self propelled. Only issue; my old vac had rubber fingers along the sides to help move hair away from walls to be suctioned up. Wish this vac would get a little closer to base of walls. Can't see spending $500+ for a -MAYBE- slightly better vac when this thing works so well. You won't be disappointed.

I liove the look and performance of the machine. The assembly was a little tricky and the instructions lacked detail. Fortunately I am mechanically inclined and did assemble it correctly. It tips back easily so I would be concerned around kids and small pets as it is very heavy if it falls on them. All in all though I really like the performance and not having a bag to change. I am not sure how easy changing the filters will be this early in the game.

My wife loves it. I would recommend it to anyone. It is a little heavy on the stairs but it cleans well.

I thought my carpets were clean. We vacuum several times a week and don't wear shoes in the house. This vacuum suctioned up so much dirt especially pet hair that we had to empty it several times in each room the first time we used it. The carpets felt smoother and different - even my kids noticed. This is the best vacuum I've ever owned. The price was reasonable and assembly was a snap. It is also not as heavy as some of my other vacuums have been.

I've switched back and forth through the years between canister and upright vacuum cleaners. My last vacuum was an Electrolux canister that I paid almost $400 for a couple of years ago. It was lightweight, but left behind that pesky pet hair. Not until I got the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser did I realize that more than just pet hair was left behind! This bad boy really has great suction!!! The attachements are great and I love the bagless feature. My only complaint is that it is heavy. I manage--just take breaks in between rooms. It's worth it!

We have two dogs and two cats and they all shed. We had a bag vac before and we would have to put up with the gross bags full of hair and the "pet smell" that would linger in the bag. We didn't want to pay $400 or $500 for a vac, so I did some investigating online. Don't spend a ton of money for a Dyson when $150.00 will get you this machine. We love it!

I have had my vacuum for about 2 months now and it has been the best vacuum I have ever purchased. The handtools are great and I love the flexible hose. The only thing that I do not like about this vacuum is the fact that when you are using the hand tools the rotating brush on the botto doesn't stop rotating. I wish they would have added a knob to have the hand tools/tube running only. I almost sucked up an entire rug when I used then hand tools/tube for the first time. Other than that it has worked great.

When picking out a new vacuum, we were torn between this one and a dyson. This vacuum was more in our price range, so we went with it. Wow...our carpets look amazing. We purchased it at 8:30 at night and were up vacuuming until almost 10 PM because we were having so much fun with it. I can't think of a bad thing to write about it. It's just that great. Such an upgrade from what we had.
