My Bad for buying this product. I've had it less than a month and it's been in the shop twice. This last time for a burned out motor, yep, that's right a burned out motor. We vac once maybe twice a week, mostly on hardwood floors, the canister gets dumped before it's full, but this device decides to up and die after maybe 4 times? It's also heavy and not balanced properly, my wife is short (4' 11") and it wears her out to use it. Sorry, I will not let a machine get the better of me, I should have done my homework a bit better. You get what you pay for, next time I'll spend a little more.

I saw all the positive reviews about this cleaner and convinced my wife that this was probably one of the best vacuums out there for the money. It was receiving better reviews than the Dyson. My wife and I were debating between this one and a Dyson DC17 animal. The Dyson was just too expensive. And with the good ratings of this item, we thought we were getting a good vacuum. The first week, it worked great. Picked up all the dog hair with no problem. By the third week, it just stopped. The rollers stopped turning, no suction, nothing...Smelled like something was burning up. We took it back to Best Buy, who honored our purchase and gave us back our money, which of course went to the purchase of a Dyson DC17 animal.

Great machine for the price. Easy to use, gets the floors clean.

I was considering buying a Dyson but when I read the positive reviews for this vacuum I decided to give it chance. I am so glad I did! It works fantastically. It is shocking to see the filth and fur that this vacuum has gotten up from my carpet that my old vacuum left behind. The cost is quite low when you consider the quality job that it does.

Really like the vacuum, but missed the cord clip in the box which would have really helped. The cord comes out near the bottom and without the clip to hold it up it is very easy to run over the cord when you go in reverse. I sliced my cord the first time I used it when I didn't realize the cord was under the brush while using one of the tools. My bad, reading the directions prior to set up would have helped : (

I did lots of research before purchasing this new vacuum. I have a cat and two dogs that shed. Suffice it to say that when I got this home and started cleaning that I could not STOP. I had just vacuumed a few days before and in less than five minutes of vacuuming one room I had to empty the cannister and could visually see an amazing difference in my carpet, area rugs and hardwood floors! I cleaned for HOURS and used all attachments - doing lampshades, baseboards, stairs, furniture. I thought my house was relatively clean obviously that was not the case. I had a very expensive vacuum before but I've never seen anything pick up pet hair like this before. I have about a 3000 sq. foot house and I could not believe my eyes when I had filled up an entire large garbage bag with pet hair when I thought my surfaces were already relatively "clean". I highly recommend this product to anyone with animals that shed!

I really wanted to believe in this vacuum. I have 3 kids under 7, a cat and a dog and I loved the reviews and the bagless concept. I was impressed the first month as it really seemed to be working. The attachments worked great with a nice long hose. So far, so good. Even when the squeaking started at 2 months it still seemed to be cleaning so I ignored. By 3 months it was clear that it was picking up little to none of the pet hair without repeated passes across the same carpet. Now I was annoyed. As I fell out of love with it I realized that: it doesn't come close to cleaning up to the baseboards; the "pet hair eraser" is a joke - like I want to stop cleaning 6" from the wall; it is stinking heavy to carry up and down stairs; I was never able to empty the canister without spreading dust and dander everywhere; the removable filter inside was equally as messy to clean out; while the HEPA filter reads as clean the "old dog" smell started at 4 months and remains after changing filters and heavy cleaning; after using the hose it doesn't return to it's "new" shape and drags the floor as I vacuum. Admittedly, I am not a regular vacuum person; I aim for once per week. The truth is this machine has had little wear for how quickly it turned into a lemon. Choose another model. This is not your vacuum.

I purchased this Vacume because of the features and the Bissel name was well known. Having used the Vacume for approx. 1 month on a variety of surfaces I can accurately say it is by far the best cleaning system I have ever owned. One small detraction might be for some people it may be somwhat bulky to lug up stairs or the like, but for my situation cost versus performance the "Best Buy" for me !!

We bought this Bissell today to deal with new carpet fuzz and dog hair. We have two German Shorthair Pointers, and their hair is small and difficult for most vaccums to pick up. This vaccum did a great job! We had to empty the canister 5 times to do all of the rooms due to the new carpet fuzz, but overall very impressed.

OK Folks...I have 11 dogs and 4 cats...I have got'n a lot of vac's but this one is the Best I have ever had...It is a little heavy ...but other then that it is GR8!!! I thought I would let my "White" carpet go for a few days just to see how well this one would clean my carpet..and When my friend came over and saw the "White" carpet he thought I had shampoo the rug....I also vacuumed the rest of the house today with my old vac... (because I knew this one would be in today) Then when I received this one and got it together I re-vac the house and OMG!!! I did not realized my old vac left so much behind .... So with 11 dogs and 4 cat's...this is the best I have ever had...it even beat's the old one which the cost on it was over $1,500.00 so at 1/10 of the cost of my old one...this one wins ... Hands Down!!!!

My husband and I bought this vacuum 2 years ago it still works great!! I did a lot of research prior to buying (cause thats what I do). When I compared this vacum to others that were much more expensive there was little difference. Well just this week the vacuum suprised me. We use the vacuum 2-3 times a week sometimes more because we have two dogs with short hair that sticks into everything. The vacuum suddenly lost suction, well after several choice words I remembered I hadn't changed the HEPA filter in a while, a long while. With it being summer time the dogs are dragging in tons of mud and shedding even more. The filter was so gross. I bought a new HEPA filter and went over the same area just in-case. It had very little to pickup. Now this isn't say I didn't mark the calendar aways out to remind myself to change it. The Vacuum just kept going until it really couldn't breath. For the price I'll deal with the filter changes and no brush stop button. I love this vacuum!!

We built our home less than a year ago and I can't believe the amount of dirt this unit captured the first time. The carpet is soft and looks great again. The only bad thing is be prepared to clean the filters as this vacuum will pickup everything your old vacuum has left behind.

I love this vaccum. I've had it for a month now and I vaccumed with my old one first and then went over the carpet again with this one. What a difference. I did not realize all of the dirt, dust, and hair my old one was leaving behind. I would recommend this model to everyone.

Very happy with the purchase. Specifically wanted a vacuum that was very good at picking up long women's hair and this vacuum does the trick. It is almost too powerful at times, but that is when some of the attachments come in handy. I would recommend this vacuum to anyone.

This is the greatest vacuum ever!!! I couldn't believe how much dirt it picked up. It looked like I steamed cleaned my carpet. I'm really happy with my purchase. A great buy. I also liked the really long cord so I can vacuum more rooms without unplugging the cord as often.

I LOVE this vacuum. Since getting it, I vacuum at least twice a week. It picks up everything (even stuff in my floor from several months before that my old vacuum didn't pick up). However, when I use my accessories, the brush doesn't stop rotating so that can be annoying since I have to lay the vacuum down to avoid damaging the carpet.

We've had a lot of Vacuums. This is by far the Best Vacuum. It picks up the hair & dirt like I've never seen before. I thank all the good reviews I read before I purchased it. It sure makes a difference when I can read about what others think of a item before I buy it.

After buying this vacuum the belt broke after the second time I used it. I replaced it only to have it happend again a few weeks later. I have one small cat and a husband with allergies. This vacuum has no sucking power. After maybe a year the motor died on it...A waste of money!!! I'm now looking for another vacuum but it definitely wont be a Bissell!!

This is a great machine at first. We've had ours about a year and a half now and are on our fourth belt and have had to replace the brush roller bar twice as it wears unevenly on the ends and becomes unbalanced. Now it sounds as if a jet airplane is about to take off in our living room and it appears the motor is about to go. Save your money and get a different brand. You may pay more initially, but it will save you money in the long run.

I bought this vacuum several months ago because we had 7 cats and a pug. Sounded like the perfect one to pick up all the hair. It did okay for the first few months, then one day I went to use it and the brush no longer turned. I took it apart looking for any obvious obstructions or a broken belt...neither. Luckily I had purchased the extended warranty, it took about 2 weeks to get it back from Best Buy. It was something in the switch itself that turned the brush on. Now it's been breaking belts, which by the way, our Best Buy does NOT carry...good luck finding the replacement belt. I just replaced one of those and spent over an hour trying to vacuum a small living room. The brush keeps refusing to turn. I have to stop, take it apart, pull the brush out and put it back together to get it to turn again. Three times while vacuuming the living room, it stopped again as I went to do the hallway. I just gave up at that point and used the hose and one of the tools to finish that. Another thing, this vacuum tips over very easily, while using the hose and attachments, you have to hold the vacuum handle with one hand. I've forgotten a few times and had it fall on me. Something else that I forgot to mention. The bottom of the vacuum is plastic and of course builds up static. A lot of the hair sticks to it and then randomly falls off in big clumps. Something you thought the vacuum already picked up has to be vacuumed over again. I would not recommend this to anyone. I'll be shopping for a new vacuum soon and will be more than happy to throw this one in the dumpster.
