This is the Blackberry that has gotten me to give up my Blackberry 10 Passport as my primary phone. The thing I've always enjoyed about Blackberry is the functionality and ease of use of their phones. The keyboard on this phone is outstanding. I don't have to leave the home screen to open my favorite apps or call friends because I can assign those things (2 per button) to the buttons on the keyboard and I don't have to home screen to open up something else, I just press the speed key and the button for an app that I want to open. You can assign up to 52 apps or phone numbers. Awesome! The keyboard also functions as a track pad, which is great for scrolling web pages and documents. The fingerprint sensor is also a pretty cool feature as well. There are other things that I like, but these were the main reasons I bought this phone.

*This is not a paid review* After watching several YouTube reviews and reading several articles, I decided to give this phone a try. I am truly amazed by this phone and its features already, and its only been a few days. Some of the cons I read were: the camera quality, the speaker sound at high levels, the older 4.5" screen, and the older Snapdragon 660 processor. While I would have liked the camera quality to be better, I did not get this phone just to shot photos. It does a good job just the same. The sound is good for it not being a stereo phone. In fact, it gets quite loud; even louder than my old stereo speaker phones. The screen is also bright enough for me to do everything I need to do, including outside in the sun. Yes, the screen is smaller too, but you are getting an amazing physical keyboard (which is touch capacitive as well). The phone is fast as well. If I hadn't read the processor was an older chipset, I would have never known. I also read some complaints about the spacebar, which is also the fingerprint reader, being loose. Mine doesn't have that issue and it works great. Wrapping this up I think this is an amazing phone. It comes with the latest version of Android, and all of BlackBerry's outstanding apps. The keyboard is amazing and you can scroll with it (so you aren't really losing too much screen size since a virtual keyboard would be there anyway). It comes with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. I threw a 128 GB microSD in mine and it is working fine as additional storage. It charges via USB-C, and it does this lightning fast. The battery also lasts at least 24 hours. They are saying close to 2 days, and I believe it (though I charge everything nightly). It plays nice with Android Auto in my car and BlackBerry is claiming future software updates for the next few versions of Android. The only improvements I can think to make on this phone would be to improve the camera quality and make it some sort of waterproof. However, these are not deal breakers for me. Disclaimer- As of now, I'm only tracking this phone as being compatible in the USA for AT&T and T-Mobile. Also, there are not many cases available for this phone at this time. Hopefully, that changes down the road.

I wasn't sure this was going to be much different from the KeyOne. I was wrong. Hugely wrong. The keyboard is amazing and *much* better than the KeyOne. If you loved the Passport's keyboard "click" you'll really dig the Key2's click. Actually, it reminds me of the 9900 keyboard. My accuracy and speed typing has improved. The new processor and 6GB of RAM has had a major impact on the speed of this machine vs. the KeyOne. I didn't realize how slow the KeyOne was until using this. Snappier is a very good description. It feels much lighter in the hand than the KeyOne which is a little off-putting. Speakerphone quality is great and vibration seems a bit stronger. This is definitely the best BlackBerry I've ever used.

Very happy with this device, and would rate it four to four and a half stars. The build quality is great and feels premium, but it is on the light side. I do prefer when handsets have weight to them, but it is great nonetheless. The new keyboard is great and makes typing on it a breeze. This device has really improved upon the disappointing KeyOne. For the Blackberry Key 3, I think TCL should really concentrate on making this device their own because aside from the qwerty keyboard and the preinstalled BB apps – this is a straight up boring vanilla version of Android. Man, is Android a boring OS. I am coming from a Samsung was always a fan of BB till 2013 when I had no choice but to make the switch. If Samsung, LG, and Hauwei can put their own skin on Android, so can BB. Blackberry and TCL, if you are reading this, please put a BB OS overlay on top of Android. Thank you. Pros and cons below: Pro: T-Mobile USA Compatible 4G LTE Wi-fi Calling Qwerty keyboard (like typing on a cloud) Quality feel and premium build 3500 MaH hour battery (Should last 2 days) Quick charge and super charger included (quick charge 3.0) Micro SD card slot 2G/3G/4G/4G LTE Camera Flash USB - C Port (faster file transfers and charging) Cons: Not an official T-Mobile USA release No UHD Display (1080P is good though) 4.5 Inch screen (its adequate) LCD display, but could be BRIGHTER in outdoor settings No native BB Gallery App (Hate Google Photos. BB, COME ON!!!!!!!!) No native BB Video Player app (Hate Google Photos. BB, COME ON!!!!!!!!) No native BB Music Player app (Every phone has one. BB, COME ON!!!!!) Text message background can't be changed No Wireless Charging Not Water Resistant Wish List: Native Blackberry Apps for gallery, video player and music player Native BB Web Browser (I actually liked their browser) 5 or 6 Inch Screen with Keyboard Official T-Mobile USA Release 5G Stereo Speakers Swype pre-installed Legacy BB Ringtones (OS 5) Ability to change text message background BB Browser Wireless Charging Water Resistant Superior Dual Lens Camera

    Blackberry is Back, Baby!

Yes, I'm one of those people from whom her Blackberry will have to be pried away from her cold, dead fingers. Nevertheless, I'd been a bit discouraged with offerings of late. No more! Blackberry is back! The Key2 feels like the Blackberry keyboard of old. So much like my old Bold... I'd have even settled for the Q10, especially after the Priv. This is the Blackberry/Android marriage we've been waiting for. Zippy, great feel on the keys, the security we love, and the productivity we need. If you're looking for the perfect social media or online media smart phone - nope, sorry. Camera is okay, but it's no Pixel. Dispite the keyboard, this is a phone first for business. And the screen ratio isn't perfect for movies or videos. But if those aren't the way you primarily use your smart phone, then keep looking at the Key2 Wonderful form factor, thin and light. Great productivity options with the new smart key which allows for customizable shortcuts to any app or function. Expandable storage via micro SD. Full GSM phone, though at this time only supported by AT&T and TMobile in the US. Verizon has not agreed to whitelist it. WiFi calling available through TMobile. MUCH stronger reception than I experienced with my Priv. Unbelievable battery performance. I have yet to have a full day's hard usage take it under 50% by the time I charge it at bedtime. Sorry, powerbanks, you are back in the drawer - I don't need you anymore! Quick charging (through USB C). If you're missing your old Blackberry... time to come back! Want to see why Blackberries were so popular? Try it out! While I never left, I'm once again very proud to be among the Blackberry loyal.

I waited a week before writing this to get used to the phone. As a former iPhone user, and also a former Blackberry Z10 user, there was a learning curve, but this device exceeded my expectations, blending some of my favorite things from the BB OS10 environment with the benefits of the Android system, without the fussiness of Apple's black-box approach to the user interface. With the key2 you get complete control and can tailor settings to your actual uses. The speed key, the convenience key, and programmable shortcuts on the keyboard make this machine a productivity beast, multitasking with ease. Battery life is phenomenal- two days is normal on one charge. Keyboard is awesome- the first time I've had a smartphone with physical keyboard, so new to me, but a real plus--positive tactile feedback, accurate, touch typing backlit. Moving music and photos was simple matter of switching memory cards and using the native file app to move them onto the native memory. so far totally loving this phone. Arrived on time from Best Buy.

I still prefer the trackpad of the Classic & Bold 9900 but this phone has everything I need minus the trackpad / toolbelt. Plenty internal space, big keys, matte keys, decent camera for my needs, super fast, plenty RAM. Unless the KEY3 has a trackpad and / or toolbelt I don't think I'll be getting it :-)

The non-LE Blackberry Key2 blends all the highs of a flagship smartphone while having some unique features (physical keyboard). With the massive chin of having a physical QWERTY keyboard, this phone still exemplifies a great use of space. High end wifi radio, headphone jack, USB 3.1 Type C with QC 3.0, 6GB of RAM, MicroSD expandability, and unlocked SIM. Combine that with the fact that the convenience key can be used to open any app you'd like (I use it to engage Google Assistant) and any key on the keyboard can be bound to also do something neat. Tons of customization here. Ships with Locker preinstalled (secure encrypted partition to put photos, apps, and documents and keep ultra secure) Locker also has Firefox Focus built into it, which is a browser with every sort of tracking turned off. No pop ups allowed, no cookies, no certificate maintenance. It's basically Incognito mode on steroids. Fingerprint sensor built into the space bar. Fantastic call quality. I'm just rattling stuff off now. Awesome battery life. Cons: Camera is as bad in low light as you've heard. Secondary optical zoom lens needs tons of light and a steady hand to not be blurry, but it still beats only digital zoom. Snapdragon 600 series CPU gives it awesome battery, but eliminates this phone from being a gaming phone. GPU is too slow to feel like a flagship in games like Fortnite, PUBG Mobile, or CSR 2. CPU and RAM combo is plenty powerful for most games, every app, and the phone consistently feels fast. Screen is tiny because of the keyboard. Verdict: This is a phone for the security conscious business customer who want a physical keyboard, not the weekend warrior who needs an awesome camera and a waterproof phone. Coming from a touchscreen keyboard to a physical keyboard was a learning curve, but now that I've had the phone for a few months, I'm faster at typing on the physical keyboard than I ever was on a touch screen keyboard.

If you're the type of person who needs their phone to take super high-quality photos on a regular basis, you might as well turn back now. Don't get me wrong, the photos that the Key2 takes are passable in my opinion. Mess around with the manual camera settings, and you'll likely get a solid picture, but it can be really rough in low light. With that said, I'm the type of person who uses his phone camera only sparingly. If you can get by with a so-so camera, you'll love the physical keyboard (it's a classic BB keyboard that you know and love), the massive all-day or even two-day battery, the crisp screen resolution and the subtle-yet-stylish design. To me, this has been one of the best phones I've ever owned, the camera notwithstanding. If you need a phone with a physical keyboard, you won't regret owning the Key2.

I really love this phone after the first week. Battery lasts a solid 2 days. Camera is really nice. The look of the phone is great, as well as the feel; it's solid but not bulky at the same time. And lastly, the keyboard is perfect. It feels so much better typing on keys than glass and the built in shortcuts you can configure on your own as well as the swiping make it even better. 5/5

My previous phone was a Blackberry Priv and that was the first phone I ever used with a keyboard. I have had multiple android phones. The Priv was overheating and the battery was dying. I really liked the blackberry software on my Priv. I thought about my uses for a replacement phone and opted for the Keytwo. I bypassed the keyone because I felt from what I read that it was underpowered. I am glad I waited because the Keytwo (after a week) is outstanding. The keyboard is great. The integration with the Blackberry software is great also. The battery life is outstanding too. I know this is in many respects a mid tier spec. phone and I am fine with that. I use it more for business than anything else and I love it. Overall with this keyboard the best phone I have owned. Downsides are the smaller screen and not as vibrant as my Priv but it is the perfect size for a keyboard phone and much better balanced than my Priv.

I have always loved the touch of the physical keyboard and this is by far the best keyboard since the blackberry passport . The battery is nothing short of amazing , easy to get through your day without having to charge the phone. The OS is very responsive since adding additional ram which is a plus. This phone will have you very productive and you won't want to put it down. Blackberry is back!

This is a fine phone, as good as any the "old" BlackBerry ever built. Yes, I'm a BlackBerry user from way back to the Pearl, but I've seen some misses by BlackBerry (the Storm and Storm 2 come to mind). This phone, built now under license by TCL, is really the best of several world's, like the Bold 9900's keyboard, the Priv's screen (almost) the Passport's clean lines...it's all good. And those reports of incredible battery life are true...with HEAVY use, good all day, for normal use, easily for a full 24 hours, if not 2 days. And as much as I really liked the QNX-based BB10 operating system (as last used by the Passport) there's a lot to like with the Key 2's Android Oreo 8.1. Don't let anyone tell you that a screen keyboard is "good enough." You should try it...one of the best phones of the year, and the only one with a physical keyboard.

The BlackBerry Key2 is the most secure and unique phone of 2018. The Key2 shows why BlackBerry has a reputation with privacy/security (DTEK security, privacy shade, etc), and now that it's on android, we get to enjoy the millions of apps. This phone isn't just for enterprise professionals, the average person will fall back in love typing on it's smart keyboard. This phone is for productivity and conveinece. I love how each key is a quick shortcut, ex: Letter "I" for Instagram, "G" for Gmail, "W" to call or text the wife. Addicted to this phone and what a great conversation piece because everybody will ask about it. A must buy!

I went from a PRIV and I prefer no dropdown for keyboard. I did not like that my old blackberry chargers do not work with this. I wish it wouldn't keep prompting me to do things when I type. But all in all glad there is still a blackberry keyboard with an android operating system.

It's a great device! It's well built, and feels good in the hand. It's fast, responsive, and a pleasure to work on with the physical keyboard. I made the switch from an iPhone 6S+, so learning Android and Blackberry's shortcuts have all been lumped into one cohesive process and has been enjoyable. The battery life is incredible. I stream content on the way to and from work, while I'm traveling to appointments and running errands. I make a ton of work calls and mix in messages and Duo with the wife. Even still, I typically put it on the charger at the end of the day with at least 20-25% charge remaining. The most underrated experience on the phone is the capacitive touch keyboard. I use it all the time. I find myself foregoing my old apps to find new ones that work with the scrolling function. I'm a freak for keeping my screen clean, and being able to scroll by swiping across the keyboard has been a revelation. Also, with that same keyboard, you're able to assign all the shortcuts and quick keys to get you through your apps and back off the phone quickly. Not to mention, being able to assign the "$" as a dedicated notifications button. Interacting with keyboard has been a joy.

Have owned many blackberry phones in the past, the last one was the Priv until It started going wacco. Discovered the new Key2 by accident and I'm so glad I did. It's fast and does a lot of neat things. The finger print ID is great. Who cares if the screen isn't all the length of the phone, love the keyboard. I'm sure other phones can do a lot more, but why? This phone should satisfy any android user and blackberry fans will love it. Long last battery, streaming movies or music is awesome. Glad I found the Key2 and didn't buy the LE model. I'm sure the other is good as well, but this has a lot more. Don't hesitate, just do it!

Too keep things short; If you like having a physical keyboard, long battery life, and a phone that keeps up with basic everyday apps, look no further. I'm a long time Blackberry user, and this phone takes what makes the Blackberry keyboards great and puts a nice modern twist on them. I enjoy the fingerprint reader in the base bar to quickly unlock my phone. The speed key is great for multitasking. I can't get over the battery life. I came from a Blackberry Priv that could be at 99% battery when I leave the house and dead in a couple hours of grocery shopping. Love this phone.
