No more pain in the neck!

First off, this is a very comfortable sling. The padding is thick and it stays positioned well, evenly distributing the weight on the shoulder. Where this sling really shines is when I have a higher weight lens attached to my camera. The weight is much less noticeable than with an around the neck type setup.
When I'm using a heavy lens, I feel much more secure and confident in this sling than I do with others I've tried. The hardware, although some of it is plastic seems over-engineered in a good way.
There is only one connection in the camera load path, its a 1 1/4" wide black plastic quick connect on the 1" webbing. The quick connect has a safety mechanism which requires three fingers to release, the traditional two on the sides and an additional one on the safety latch in the middle of the connector. Even if the strap quick connect is inadvertently released, the camera won't fall to the floor as there is an adjustable plastic stop on the webbing that I believe serves as a travel limiter and as a safeguard against dropping your camera.
The metal carabiner has a threaded door collar to lock it in place. If that isn't enough to inspire confidence that your gear is secure, they provide a redundant locking mechanism, a plastic carabiner cover. The carabiner cover, locks the lock in place; it prevents the threaded door collar from backing out. The pictures show the carabiner threaded door collar in its disengaged and engaged positions and with the carabiner cover in place.
This is a very well designed sling, every detail is thought out, tried and true. The build quality is top notch.

I saw this rig on a Best Buy employee (store #290) and ask TJN if he liked and TRUSTED it, and he said YES and told me about it. For my own added piece of mind I bought Black Rapid's "Tether" kit for a second connection to the Camera and the Rig. It was well Worth the extra $25. to protect my $6000. dollar investment! I Like the Look and Feel of this sling because it hangs the camera upside down at your arms length, and is in the perfect reach of your Right hand. So when you are ready to take the shot, you only have to grab the camera and swing it up to eye level. Then return it back down when finished. Because the mount on the bottom hooks to a bracket that slides up & down on the strap (and never hangs up). The strap hangs over your Left shoulder and cross to your Right hip where your camera will rest. All the weight is moved to your Right shoulder and is Very Comfortable there (with my 7 1/2 pound camera, lens & battery grip), even after a long day of Standing and shooting an airshow all day. (Normal camera straps hang ALL the weight on the back of your neck which is uncomfortable.) I LOVE using this rig and would Highly Recommend it to anyone who does a lot of STANDING all day and shooting events. Here is what I do Not like about it, if you sit down the camera Will Hit the chair if your NOT CAREFULL...so you really have to watch it and take extra precautions to Avoid Damage! And if you have a really Long & Expensive "L" series lens, it will Hit the Chair and the Ground!! Black Rapid needs to find away to quickly shorten the straps, if you want to sit down. So When I Sit Down (or I should say BEFORE I SIT DOWN) I grab the camera and pull it up to rest it on top of my leg, which takes care of the problem.

I would say this is a must for any DSLR user, it is much nicer than the supplied neck strap that comes with the camera. This strap allows you to have the camera at your side and takes the weight off of your neck. I use this with a D7100 with an 80-400mm attached. It feels very secure, even with having several thousands of dollars hanging from it. The camera slides easily from your waist to a shooting position and the strap itself is very comfortable.

I use the Joby ProSling and this Black Rapid RS strap. The Black Rapid strap has more options and buckles, but the Joby is more comfortable for a long shoot when you're in the field all day. However, my camera have came lose with the Joby at least once in the past 2 years, and the Black Rapid has not failed me in that regards once so far.

I have a Canon 70D and do a lot of nature photography using a Canon 100-400 Telephoto lens. I had problems with my previous strap sliding around and being pulled by the weight of the lens. The Black Rapids Sports strap prevents sliding due to the second strap that fits securely under my arm. The camera and lens fall nicely on the side of my body opposite the shoulder strap. Great strap!

I really like this strap. It fits and adjust great. I use it on a photo job and camera felt secure at all times . Very comfortable. I only wish that the strap that goes under my armpit was removable.

Scrap the standard camera strap and grab the Blackrapid sport strap especially if you are taking pictures on the go. The strap is comfortable on your shoulder and doesn't slide around because of the extra strap that can be hooked under the arm. I never feel like need to keep an hand on the camera because it lays on the opposite hip very comfortably. The strap is long enough to grab your camera and catch quick photo opportunities without fumbling in your camera bag or the standard strap swing around your neck. Great series of straps to choice from but this is hands down the best for my photography adventures.

I've used BlackRapid straps on three Nikon DSLRs. The regular strap goes over your shoulder and across your chest, letting the camera hang on the opposite side. The only problem is that it can shift and slide off your shoulder if you're moving around a lot. The sports version adds another strap under your arm, that stops it from moving on your shoulder. It makes it slightly more complicated to put on, but is more secure. I highly recommend it.

I rated this strap "good" because it has been useful to me in the 2 months I have owned it. I am not sure, though, if I want a diagonal shoulder strap that is fixed across my body as my default carry camera strap. It seems to ride a bit too loosely on my hip and I fear the camera gets jostled a bit too much. I am a new camera enthusiast so will need to experiment with this. I do like the ability to pull my camera up from my hip to my eye though.

I began using Nlack Rapid straps when doing street photography in Europe. I chose them after reading an article about how photogs were getting cameras stolen by thieves who would run by them grabbing the camera and taking off. The traditional straps would slip off the arm and boom! No more camera. The black rapid wraps your upper body in such a way that this is no longer an issue. Then, I realized how versitile and well made the black rapid products were regardless of the added security. I can carry more gear, more effeciently using these. Love the product. Wouldn't leave the studio without them attached to my cameras.

This is my second Black Rapid harness. I've been really impressed with the ease of use and functionality of these products. I have 3 cameras and this system works well with my other Black Rapid Harness. My cameras and lenses are safe when connected and my hands are free. Great product

I absolutely love this product! This is my first time ever using a camera shoulder strap. I must say that i am very pleased with it. I had thoughts about my camera actually releasing from the strap, but not worries at all!!! Love it!

I wouldn't recommend this for just casual snapshots while travelling or hiking as it isn't the quickest to put on and take off, so putting your camera back in your bag for protection is a hassle. It is meant to be worn the entire time you plan on taking photos. Used in that manner, however, it is superb! Quick and sturdy draw whenever I need it and comfortable dangle when I don't.

This camera is very comfortable. Wore it for a 12 hour wedding photoshoot. Would have given it 5 stars if the price was not so high and if the strap would connect to the camera other than using the tripod mount. Camera stays by your side when standing or sitting. Not so much when bending over to pick something up. It wasn't a big issue for me. Great strap.

Blackrapid makes some of the best camera straps around and this is no exception. It is comfortable and fastens securely to your dslr with a metal fastener. Great product, and even got it on sale for almost half the price!

The Blackrapid Sport-R Strap is a great tool for carrying around a larger camera. I use it with my Sony RX10iii and it blows away the flimsy strap that comes with camera. It is extremely comfortable and stable and allows for quick-draw access to your camera. My only quibble is that it is a bit bulky (and is definitely overkill for smaller mirrorless cameras) but thats also why its so effective. Highly recommend!
