3rd times a charm?

I watched this movie when i was 30 and didnt care for it although it was much more interesting. I just watched this movie at 42 years old and i am much more patient for a story to develop and allow characters to prove themselves and let the story lead me down the rabbits hole. I must say, i still dont like this movie. If this was released today in a theater it would be a more than forgetable experience, so why is it people say i am wrong when they really loved a movie 20 or more years ago but if the story doesnt hold up, it doesnt hold up. I am a star wars fan and i will be the first to tell you Return of the Jedi is the worst of the original trilogy and i loved it when i was 12. The bluray looks beautiful and sounds great.
