Samsung Galaxy Prevail

This phone is nice and fast to the touch. I like all the apps you can download and use. The down fall of this phone is the keyboard is to small in portrait mode and landscape. You hit every key except the one you want and the mic key the added on it drives me nutts if you hit it all the time. if the screen was maybe 2inches bigger then it would be a good phone for your everyday use. After just 2 days me and my wife returned the phones and exchanged them for the blackberry curves 8530 which are way better. So if you buy this phone then its up to you to deal with the faults it has but i would recommend waiting on something better. Hopefully boost wakes up and brings out a nice android phone with a much bigger screen to work with or maybe even perhaps the blackberry touch which would be nice. Overall i give this phone a 4 out of 10.

I've been getting Samsung phones for a long time and was excited about this one, that's over. I've had it a month and still don't know how to forward messages. the manual doesn't explain how to either, I'm a texter. thinking about buying another phone.

I bought this phone in July of 2011 and loved it for about 6-8 months... Then it started freezing up on me! So now every call I make, It always freezes at the end when I want to hang up. I cannot leave a message for someone without having to take out the battery at the end of our conversation just to hang up. And every time you take the battery out, the date and time get jumbled up! The phone is i guess okay if you take care of it and keep your eyes on it for every minute of your life! I also had a problem with the screen. it scratches very easily and makes your phone screen always seem gross and dirty if that makes sense. The camera isn't very reliable. And the internet is slow.

Boost customer service is horrible and abusive. The phone service was
no up to par...had dropped calls and no service in north Florida although I was assured that I would.
Phone freezes in all almost every application and doesn't swipe at times and doesn't change orientation at times.
Cannot swipe the lock off? is overly sensitive, a flaw that permeates every application on the phone -
constantly find myself tapping an incorrect link, selecting the wrong pinpoint often giving me a totally different result of what I actually pressed - happened many times
An overzealous touchscreen during calls, giving haptic feedback when my face touched the screen.
Call quality poor - dropped several calls and sound was tinny - conversations sounded distant and muffled.
ending conversations is unintuitive --> have to press the lock button and then swipe a red ribbon across the screen to end the call. With the Droid, for instance, the proximity sensor is smart enough to know that you've been on a call, so when you pull your head away the device isn't locked. Then you tap a large icon, instead of swipe a less-than-responsive screen.
after only a few phone calls totalling about 2 to 2 1/2 hours checked the battery at 10:25pm and down to gold bar - didn't even use the phone after the last call
Battery was about 1/2 down after my long call and then just dropped
Screen freezes often -- like almost every time left to go on standby.
Screen locks off completely even with that option, if you eliminate the lock features to "none". I had to return the first phone 2 days after purchase.
I have a screen lock icon that comes up during phone calls even after I set the unit to require no lock at all. --> if you need to use the Dialpad -- not possible so you can't press "2" for whatever option might go with it.
And Samsung doesn't even know the reason for this screen icon and it is nowhere in the manual as I learned with a Samsung representative, who too looked through the entire manual to find out that there is no explanation for this happening.
You cannot expect to use the phone for an alarm because if it freezes you are screwed.
WAIT and save your money unless you enjoy being frustrated. Nice try Samsung/Boost and if you turn your phone off between uses, you'll have no problem. If you expect to wait for incoming calls and simply answer when it rings without encountering a frozen screen -- pass on this model.

At first the phone seemed great but soon it became more of a hassle. For starters it has less than 200mb for apps and games, as well it has so many useless apps such as Books, Hookt, Layar, News and Weather, Poynt, SCVNGR and TeleNav, all of which you cannot remove to make more space for apps you may want.
I will not be reccomending this phone to anyone else! Samsung has always been such a great phone but this one was very disappointing. What happened to the great Samsung phones? Do they now think that because people who do not want a 2 year contract they can just stiff those people? This is a question I will be asking them soon on their site.

I was dying for a touchscreen but really didnt want to switch carriers so i waited for this phone from boost after two delays it finally was released. I purchased this phone the first day it came out and soon discovered I was better off with my other boost phone. You constantly have to power off to end a call. I am a fb fanatic and I always seem to have problems views pics. My phone also keep losing signal to the point the phone is useless, unless once again you power off. The network on here is only 3g but Im assuming it should be running faster. SO WISHING I COULD RETURN THIS PHONE

I'm so tired of phones working only 50% of the time, and the rest freezing and force closing. on a very reputable techsite, I compared phones and found this one to be satisfactory. In reading the site review (not a consumer review), I was told this phone had very little bloatware...cha-ching! exactly what I needed. a basic smartphone that won't feel like a brick in my pocket to make room for my pictures and music.
What I found out was this review was just a lie. The phone has 25-appsplus preloaded on it which I thought was high but couldn't remember what my last phone had at it's unboxing. but I used it awhile and thought ok, it's fine. After a day the phone got a wireless system update, and that used up 20MB of memory right there. 3 Weeks later I downloaded another mandatory system update, and along with a few apps I downloaded...the entire internal memory was used up. HARDLY ENOUGH LEFT TO DOWNLOAD A 1 MB APP!!
Here's what I want: A phone to keep myself organized. with a decent screen, wifi, and as high available memory as possible. And if at all possible can make a phone call every so often. Unfortunately, this is nowhere to be found.
