This dish washer is so quiet the first time I used it I wasn't sure it was running. After the cycle was done I was in awe seeing how clean all the dishes and glasses came out.

    Major Part Fail

13 months after purchase, too late for manufacturer's warranty, the water circulator pump failed. I never buy extended warranties but this time it would have saved me about $400. The machine itself only cost $600. The cheap dishwasher I used prior to buying this one lasted 10 years without a problem and the wash cycle took 45 minutes instead of 2 hours and 15 minutes. I only bought this machine because it was the only one small enough to fit into the space in my kitchen.

Best dishwasher I've owned. Doesn't leave water spots and is so quiet we can barely hear that it's running. Large capacity can fit all dishes and pots/pans without any trouble. Highly recommended!

    Very quiet dishwasher

We got this dishwasher for our newly remodeled kitchen and are very happy with it. It looks great and is super quiet. The only reason it got fours stars is it takes over 2 hours to complete a normal cycle. Not really a big deal but kind of annoying after a big gathering.

    Never worked right

I bought this dishwasher after reading the reviews and doing some other research about the brand. That turned out to be a huge waste of my time. The item worked for about a week and then the pump stopped working so the bottom of the basin would fill up with water that I'd have to bail out by hand into the sink. Geek Squad came out to "repair" it, which is another story altogether (yes, I'm bitter), but after their expert repairmen couldn't fix the problem, I had them replace the unit with an LG, which is great. For the week the Bosch worked, our dishes did get really clean, but that doesn't outweigh the negatives with this product. The racks are very flimsy, the tines are arranged so you can't fit that much in it, and they'll come off track - plus the wheels will pop off the racks - if you pull too hard or at even a slight angle. Hugely disappointed in this dishwasher; go with a different brand.

Bad Experience- defect with this model

I am disappointed at my purchase of this Bosch dishwasher. After using only 2 times it stopped running, and it turns out that it is a latch on the door that is the issue. The Bosch technicians have very limited schedules and visit weeks after you schedule. Just after 2 washes (btw I didn't feel satisfied with the way my dishes and silverware were left a little damp by the way there is no heated drying with this model!#, it didn't function. So I didn't have a dishwasher for 2 weeks until the technician came. When he came he said that the part was being ordered and that he would just do a band aid fix #sticking an old card box I had and stuck it inside the dishwasher so that the latch door was shut again. Today the technician was scheduled to come back to install the missing part from the model, and he last minute changed the window time he gave me. I ended up missing my appt because the new time he changed to conflicted with my doctor's appt. And the technician would not accommodate my set doctor's visit even though he was the one who changed and did not stick to the time. So today I returned the Bosch dishwasher and bought a Samsung still through Best Buy. Aside from the defect of the door with this model, it is also high maintenance. This dishwasher needs an higher priced enzymatic detergent (reg ones like Cascade won't do and will ruin the machine I was told). Plus there is a filter at the bottom that needs to be scrubbed. Who needs this extra work? I just wanted a stainless steel dishwasher that was more straightforward to care for. Conclusion: I was disappointed at my first Bosch purchase. My last one. Plus no heated drying which I didn't like. And there is that weird, fishy odor - I guess since it is still brand new. I will stick to brands like GE...I hope that my Samsung decision fares out better than this experience!

I purchased a Bosch because I thought it was a great brand plus I purchased the "best buy warranty". Water pump went out and the repair companies Best buy uses couldn't come to fix it when I was available. So I cancelled the plan because of the extreme poor service. The pump is plastic and cost $350 to replace! Guess what broke again!?!?! I've put almost $1000 is this piece of trash! NEVER AGAIN!

This unit replaced a 4 year old top of the line Kitchenaid, which was a terrible machine. We are very happy with the unit so far, it is smaller than the Kitchenaid, but will load more due because of the great design. I think the unit has a heated dry in lieu of the condensing dry but I'm not sure. Regardless, it dries the dishes very well.

Thought this would be a great dishwasher being a Bosch. Difficult loading and does not accommodate pots and dishes. Simply does not dry dishes no matter what setting you use even the recommended by Bosch. Water is left in spray arms and bottom of unit. Could be mold problem if you are away from home for awhile.

    I worship this dishwasher

I have been living with a less than adequate dishwasher. I am a single mom and run my own business. Dishes are low on the time priority list. My teenager hated unloading the old washer because even when I pre rinsed the dishes, they came out with stuff on them. Not this Bosch. My dishes have been so clean they have that squeaky texture. The washer is silent, but for a few little trickling sounds in the beginning. No buttons on the face, so it is just a lovely clean face of stainless. I can't even describe how happy this washer makes me. Maybe I should marry it. :)

    Excellent Product, one major flaw

This product would be near perfect if it wasn't for the lower rack problem mentioned in other reviews. It baffles me that the lower wheels come off the track so easily. At this price point I would expect a higher build quality. Other than that, this machine looks great and runs almost silently. Dishes come out sparkling clean and are bone dry not long after a cycle is complete.

Very Quiet and Solid Features and Build

This dishwasher is very quiet and offers many washing and drying options. Like the idea of the red light shining on the floor when unit is on. Appears to be a well built unit. Great price and installation special run on the unit. Uses very little water to clean the dishes which will amount to water savings over the years.

    Very Loud, Poor Build Quality

I purchased this dishwasher because Bosch is ranked #1 by Consumer Reports and because it has a reputation for quality. In sum, I was greatly disappointed. This dishwasher is represented as rated at 49db, but it was louder than one of those cheap dishwashers in a rental apartment. Not only was it loud, but it was a weird sound that seemed like there was a river running through my house. Out of curiosity I checked it with a decibel meter. It registered 61db, which is over twice the loudness. The shocking part is Bosch claims the red light that shines on the floor is required because otherwise you wouldn't know it's running. Trust me, you will know when it's running. It is also very flimsy and and of low quality; and it is obvious they tried to cut costs by cutting corners and ignoring details. For example: - The wire dish racks are of a gauge that appears half as wide as most dish racks. They feel very light and not very sturdy. - The door is hard to open and has a tendency to slam shut. This is an issue because the dish rack uses the door as a rail, so unless it is fully 100% open, the dish rack will derail itself. This happened several times the first day. It is also impossible to leave it open just a few inches. - Unlike most dishwashers, it has only 3 feet. This makes it very wobbly until it is installed. But even after it is installed there is some movement when the door is open. Having 4 feet would go a long way to resolving this issue. - The insulation is not attached to the dishwasher, but rather lays over it. When the dishwasher is installed or removed there is a tendency for it to bunch up. - The soap dispenser cup is angled towards the dishwasher, so when you put soap in it, there is tendency for the soap to overflow on the inside edge. This makes it hard to close. I can't speak to its reliability because I had it for 1 week before returning it for a different brand. It does a decent job cleaning dishes, but it's just too loud and cheaply made. In sum, a very poor value.

    Shame, Shame, Shame Bosch

We bought this dishwasher because of it's specific reviews and Bosch ratings in general. It was a disaster from the start. After professional installation, on the first run it did not dry. There was heavy condensation around the door. There was significant water on the racks, there was water coming out of the top spray bar and running on everything below every time you touched it, and the inside of the glasses were wet. We ran it again to see if this was a fluke for the first time run. Same thing happened. I called customer service to find out what was wrong and to find out how to use the short cycle discussed in the manual. I was told by a rude customer agent that none of the models described in my owners guide had the short cycle. I tried again. Same result. I called again and got another rude agent who told me that and the unit would not dry without rinse aid added. I added the liquid rinse aid and tried again. Same result. I called again. This time I got a friendly agent who set up a repair call for my new unit. All this happened within my first 6 hours. Additional problems include a manual that is far from clear and is inaccurate (according to one of the customer service agents) and has photos of controls that are so small that they can not be read. Using a magnifying glass blows them up but then makes them blurry due to poor print resolution. The actual operating procedure for this unit is ridiculous. Simple functions require pushing 3 separate buttons. Changing settings requires use of multiple buttons and multiple steps and memorizing multiple codes or having the manual next to the unit forever. The next morning I called customer service again to cancel the repair call since we decided that the unit and company was a disaster and we made arrangements with Best Buy to return it in exchange for a Whirlpool. By the way, The comments about the light on the floor to see that it is running due to sound level are non-sense. It is not noisy, but you certainly know it is running unless you are deaf.

Cheap parts and clumsy bottom rack

    Posted .

On the positive side, the dishes come out clean. But there are a number of things about this dishwasher that are annoying: the bottom rack rolls off the door quite easily when the rack is loaded with dishes; one of the wheels on the bottom rack has already fallen off once; the sliding door to the dispenser is flimsy plastic and hard to get to stay closed; the top rack is easy to raise but almost impossible to lower again; the closed silverware baskets with individual slots for silverware are handy, but the lids of the baskets are flimsy plastic; operation of the dishwasher is not intuitive--it requires reading the manual; there doesn't appear to be a way to air dry the dishes--it has to heat dry them; the bottom rack doesn't easily accommodate dishes larger than fine-china-size--my everyday dishes and bowls are just too big for the tines, although they have fit in previous dishwashers; it takes two hours to run.

Bottom rack roll-out and return is extremely rough. Our previous dishwasher rack rolled in and out very smoothly. This Bosch drops the rack back in hard and even so you have to force it. It's quite unbelievable. I would not recommend a Bosch to anyone.
