Overall concept is good. They almost had it too. It was darn near perfect except it isn’t able to block out background noise when you’re on the phone. It picks up all wind and then no one can hear you. Other than that if you just want sunglasses that play music. It’s awesome. But a little pricy

Love these glasses! They sound amazing and I can keep the music to myself, talk with someone or just listen to a podcast. I also like the fact that the lenses can be changed out! It's a great accompaniment to them!

These sunglasses have brought me so much joy and helped my social anxiety. They are loud enough to hear while using power tools and make everyone I know smile when they out them on. Only thing I can say bad is they could use a lighter frame and a cheaper price.

So far so good. Setup was easy, charging didn't take too long and the sound is amazing. Basis lens isn't too darkness's- just right. I wished Bose made more frame styles. Most were too large for my face as well as the bridge for the nose. The Soprano had the smallest bridge.

These are great frames. I had my Rx added in a Transition Lens and I'm very pleased. Connects easily via BT to TV which I like because I don't have to have the sound turned way up. They look a little bulky but that is understandable because of the technology in the earpieces.

excellent purchase - the sunglasses just by themselves look & feel good - really good vision. The Bose speakers are great - great sound & hooks up easy with the blue tooth, the sound is really good. It's definitely a different type of item to own & really cool.

Comfortable and Stealthy Sunglasses for Your Ears

Despite the electronics and battery, these sunglasses are surprisingly light. Just a bit heavier than Ray Ban’s, but not objectionably more. The battery, electronics, and amazing speakers are in the arms, which keeps the weight off your nose. This layout works very well as they are comfortable to wear all day, even after the battery dies.
The sound from the tiny speakers is amazingly clear, a bit light on bass. Even at full volume the sound had no perceptible distortion, they were not so loud to hurt your ears. The open ear design will allow you to hear what is around if the volume is kept in check, making these safer than buds or earphones to be out and about. A person 3 feet away will hear them and may be able make out what is playing, but they are not so loud to bother most people.
Using your phones voice assistant or making calls works even with your phone in pocket thanks to the two built in total beam-forming microphones. It sounds great, those on the other end of the call told me it sounded normal, nothing sounded off.
A fully charged battery lasted me a bit more than 6 hours at half or more volume most of the time. Not enough for an all-day outing in mid-summer, but I would not want these to be much heavier, so it is an acceptable tradeoff. They still work well as normal sunglasses even with a dead battery. Placed on charge I found them fully charged when I checked them about 90 minutes later.
The charging cable has a proprietary magnetic connector on the sunglass end, much like on a MacBook Pro or Surface Tablet. The other end is a standard USB type port. You cannot connect the charging cable to the glasses while wearing them to run off an external battery. At least without the magnetic charging end pressing into the side of your head as the charging connection is out of site on the inside.
The charging cable is also not long enough to support an external power source, like a backup battery for a phone while wearing them. At just a bit over 22” in length, it’s really tight to use a wall charger that is behind a side or end table. The kitchen counter or a laptops USB port are the only places that seem to work well. The busy and potentially wet kitchen counter seems like a bad place. They will charge in the hard case that comes with them for some protection if you fold the right arm in first. A longer cable, at least a meter long would be more practical. Finding such a cable is impossible due to the proprietary charging end.
The app helps you connect the glasses with Bluetooth, enable or disable power options, i.e. power off after 10 minutes of inactivity or not, turn off when the glasses are flipped upside down or not. There is a tip section that shows how the button on the right arm and the invisible touch pad on the right arm work. When they power off, the music app also pauses.
There is a page to register your music streaming apps; Amazon, Pandora, Deezer, among others. I do not see the value in it, nor is it explained in the user guide or app help. Once your Bose Frames are setup, you can open any music app and play music directly whether it is setup or not; play, pause, skip forward/back using the button on the frames.
I felt nervous swapping the lenses out the first time for fear of snapping the glasses or lenses, but I followed the directions in the app’s Tip section, and it worked out OK. The lenses feel securely installed when in correctly, no danger of them falling out if they are installed properly. It would be apparent if they are not fully in. Bose has different colored lenses to pick from. The Bose web site has a link to lensabl.com where you can order prescription reading or sunglass lenses.
The Bose Sunglasses worked flawlessly, look good, and sound surprisingly good without totally blocking out the sound around you. They are a safer way to take your music with you. Some may want more bass or more have them play louder than what is comfortable or safe, but I thought they sound great as they are. My only other surprise is that the frames are not offered in other colors or woodgrain patterns.
