Simply amazing sound isolation and cancellation

I never thought I would spend $299 on a pair of ear buds but Bose headphones have always impressed me. I have a pair of the on-ear QuietComfort 3 Acoustic Noise Cancelling headphones that I purchased from Bose at least 5 years ago and they have always performed up to the task. The sound quality for a pair of semi-small headphones is fantastic, deep base tones, great high frequency response and overall quality. The only draw back to them was traveling with them was a little hard due to the size. They didn't fold up small and I found that on an airplane they didn't quite cancel out enough of the background noise and since they were on-ear they let a little noise in. I have a trip coming up where I will be flying a lot and wanted something smaller with more sound isolation. I saw the commercial for these and wanted to give them a try. I have yet to fly with them but just testing them inside the house I can run a large microwave and stand less then 5ft away and if I didn't see the light on in the microwave I wouldn't know that it's running. I pulled them out of the box and I'm blown away at their performance. I want to say that my hearing is in excellent shape as well so it's not a case of hearing loss being a contributing factor. The overall quality of sound is fantastic for ear-buds however don't expect super deep hard base hits from them (they are only ear buds). I'm not disappointed at all with their sound quality and would HIGHLY recommend these for anyone that needs to shutout the world while listening to music. The one advantage with these is they also have a "aware" mode which you can turn on. This lets in a little bit of outside sounds on purpose and can be toggled on/off from the button on the cord. OVERALL: Bose hit this one out of the park in terms of performance, fit and functionality. I think that the battery box could have used a little tweaking in terms of location on the line but it's not anything that would keep me from recommending them. I only rated it lower than excellent on Durability because I just got them so haven't had a chance to wear them. My other pair of Bose headphones has been excellent and after 4-5 years of use finally started showing wear. They are still working though.

I have found nothing to like about this product. It does not compare favorably to other Bose headphones. Noise cancelling is compromised because so much outside noise leaks in. Doesn't stay in place well with any of the supplied earpieces. Tried to return product thinking I had 30 days. But I only had half that and missed it by a day. So my money is wasted and I'm stuck. I'm done with Bose and I'm done with Best Buy..

First I have been through alot of head phones and unsatisfied with most of them. These sound like full size professional head phones however the Comfort wearing them is their best benefit. I can not explain in words how they feel and sound. If you love listening to music the way it was recorded by the artist then theses are for you. You will not regret this purchase.

I was hesitant about buying these headphones as they were 300 dollars, but after a years usage I feel more than ever that this was a perfect purchase. I bought these headphones for use while studying on campus and man do they cut out the chatter when on. I am able to fully concentrate with my music at lower levels and not have to have it blaring in my ear to silence the environment out. I did have a minor issue with the active mode about 5 months ago and contacted bose who promptly issued me a new pair in return for my old pair! they had such amazing customer service! I will say this though if there is no music or if it is light music such as instrumental, there can be an issue with the complete silencing. Overall, I have found these headphones an amazing purchase and would do it again!

    The best of the best

Bose QuietComfort 20 Headphones are rated as the best noise cancelling headphones and they match their hype. I tried both, the over the ear and the earbud versions, and I am impressed with the quality of noise cancelling in both. It is really comparable. I use them during the flights and I must say that the airplane noise is not so annoying with them any more. The headphones cancel the most annoying frequencies. I prefer the earbuds for several reasons. They are smaller to carry around when you want to save luggage space and weight. They have rechargeable lithium battery that lasts the longest flights, so you don't have to buy and replace alkaline batteries all the time. They allow you to hear the flight attendants when they ask you what drink or menu item you want. When you rest your head, you can actually sleep a bit - the headphones do not touch headrest so easily as the over the ear ones, killing noise cancelling. When you actually listen to music or watch movies on the plane through the headphones with noise cancelling on, you get high quality sound and you can actually enjoy the music or movie. Grab them when they are still on sale!

    great noise canceling earbuds

They work exactly as described. They cancel out 99% of the annoying noise from the workplace 'cube farm' when absolute concentration is needed. Very lightweight. Comfortable to wear. Traditionally, I am not an earbud wearer. Yet, I was pleasantly surprised with the music sound quality. I wear the earbuds quite frequently, even when I don't have a real need to cancel out noise. No static from the device. (Only once did I hear static, and it was from the online jazz station I was listening to at the time.) I am beyond pleased with my purchase. Strongly recommend them over the Bose headphones (which were too hot and heavy for me). Looking for quality noise canceling earbuds? These are it!

After trying several noise canceling earbuds, I gave in and spent the high $$$ for these. Wanted to block out the noise around me at work. These work best when playing light music in the background. If you want the best... these are it. I gave 4 stars only because I think Bose has them over-priced.

    Best in Class Earbud Headphones

I owned three Bose headphones when I stumbled across these. While I loved the sound and canceling technology of my QC-15s and the lightweight feel of the great sounding MIE2, the thought of combining the two was intriguing. Both of those headphones are now on EBay. If you want one pair of headphones that are lightweight, have great sounding audio quality AND provide great active noise cancellation, these headphones are best in class. The only drawback is the power/cancellation unit size. It measures about 3"x.5"x.1" in size and hangs about 2" from the device. It's obviously required to manage the noise cancellation and I'm happy to tuck it away in exchange for the amazing comfort, size and sound quality of the headphones.

I have had every headphone on market. Tried everything. These little guys do a great job of noise suppression sound balance over anything else out there. Add to it that they are virtually weightless in your ears, and it is incredible that a product like this exists. You can have heavy noise suppressing headphones, or in ear ones that jam so far into your ear canals that they end up giving you ear infections. Or these, which are perfect. Price is out of control, but Bose probably knows they have the market cornered with this one.

    Best money can buy

Bose first ANC earbuds is a sticker shock when you see the price but is it worth it. Well, for me yes. I've tried others that claim do the same at a much lower price point and well it just wasn't the same. Bose somehow have gotten it to work flawlessly. The buds are comfortable with the soft silicone wingtips and ear inserts. If you've tried their sport than it is basically the same. While it doesn't look like it will seal of all the noise but once you turn on the ANC is like like you are in a cone of silence. I use this to sleep as it is comfortable enough for me as a side sleeper. It takes out all the noise of the AC unit or anything else. Okay, it will drown out the alarm clock so be warned if you don't want to be late for work in the morning. My only concern is the battery power which is also the ANC after time will degrade as all batteries will and you will be left with a $250 earbuds. I guess by the time the battery does wear down I'll probably be on to the next version. That said these are the one of the best if not the best ANC earbuds for those who don't like the ear cans that money can buy and it doesn't come cheap.

I don't need to turn these all the way or even most of the way up as with other headphones. 2/3 is plenty and I like my music loud. The noise-canceling puts everything else in the background and you're in the zone with the music. Sometimes I'll put them in and turn the acoustic noise-canceling on and use them as ear-plugs w/o music. I use them in a shop with lots of machines, and they get rid of the hum-drum while still being able to clearly hear the intercom/bell/etc.... I highly recommend

I was very skeptical about this product. Basically I wanted a pair of headphones that has a nice noise canceling. I always thought that in order to get a great noise canceling effect, you need to have the bulky, over the ear headphones, but this product prove me wrong. The noise canceling on this headphones are AMAZING!. When I am in the train in NYC, i can't barely heard any noise besides my music. Love the headphones. Definitely worth the price.

Best headphones in the entire world

The headphones sit so relaxed you can't really tell it's in the ear. The noise cancelling is so good not only does it cancel out 90% of the noise around you and even your own voice (speaking outload) in your mind it makes the music sound even better than the sound processor already has set at optimal settings (EQ and other special tune processing for best listening). The bass is deep, tight, and highs and mids are all audible and distinct. If you need a replacement and addition to your already great audio setup you can't find anything better. It can even come to a point where your audio system package can make the music sound better than the instruments being played live in front of you (violin, guitar, etc.).

If you are like me and like to either a) have only 1 headphone bud in at a time or b) like earbuds over some of the other types, then these are for you. Noise cancelation is great, and even when the feature isnt turned out the sound is pretty much drowned out because of the buds in your ears. Quality is excellent, and they feel really good in your ears.
