Ive owned a wide variety of musical devices. Good and bad... expensive and cheap. For the amount of money you spend on this, its not worth what you get for sound. Its that simple.

This sound bar is def better then the tv speakers but coming from sonos and klipsch speakers it is quiet, bought it on sale for daughter so it does the job for her room

With this sound bar being made by Bose - you can count on the sound quality being good. I can't argue with that. My main use of it is to use the digital out sound from a television to it. My issues with the sound bar are that it's hard to switch inputs (Bluetooth, aux, etc). I've had trouble with it not turning on as expected. It's getting more and more erratic in its functions. I really wish there was an app to manage functions. I consider myself pretty tech savvy, but using the Bose Solo 5 sound bar causes me more frustration than anything else.

Bought this as open box, but when I got home i noticed it was missing the power cable, so i couldnt really test it out and i ended up returning it.

I have not been able to match the cable box with the sound bar. Also even if one matches the sound bar to the TV, the volume and the other functions cannot be seen in the TV screen. No display.

I've been very pleased with previous Bose products but I'm sorry to say I'm disappointed with the Solo 5 sound bar. Audio quality is fine but there is too much base response and as a result there is a very audible "thump" in the audio. So far I haven't been able to reduce/modify the base response of the unit to reduce this annoying sound. Instructions state that the Solo 5 remote can be programmed to operate other devices; so far I've been unsuccessful in programming the remote to accommodate this feature. Sorry Bose this product doesn't meet expectations!!

After all I have heard about Bose sound, I expected better or at least as good as the sound from my old TV I had for 12 years. This sound is inconsistent. The opening music is blaring loud and the dialogue can be unclear and much lower in tone. Plus we now need 2 remotes - 1 for the TV and one for the sound. When we watch Netflix we need 3 remotes. This is definitely not an upgrade.

You can turn this on via Pressing and Holding the Mute button until the status indicator blinks Orange 3 times. This indicator will stay orange when in this mode.

I went ahead and purchased this sound bar because I know Bose has never let me down. Well, I'm disappointed with this product. I honestly thought the sound was going be clear, crisp, loud, bass, but it wasn't.
I was going to return it, but decided to keep it and put it in my bedroom.
I wouldn't recommend this item unless you just want some sound for a bedroom TV. Definitely not for your living room, unless you just want simple sound.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Solo 5 TV sound system. The soundbar will power off after 60 minutes of inactivity. However, you can set the soundbar to power on whenever a sound signal is received. To do so, you'll want to press and hold the Power button on the remote for five seconds until you hear a tone to toggle between auto-wake and default power settings. The status indicator will glow a dim amber color when the soundbar is off and auto-wake is enabled. If further assistance is needed, our Bose technical support is always here to help.
