    I don’t have WIFI, so I wasn’t able to get the Sonos sound bar that I wanted or even a higher end Bose. Wouldn’t recommend this Bose Solo 5 to anyone.

      It's possible that, depending on your TV, that the TV is recognising the output audio source and is using an internal "Headphone" Volume slider to adjust this, and is therefore limiting the sound output of the Solo soundbar.

    A little disappointed in the quality of sound. I was expecting a lot more from BOSE and for $249.00 investment. Not sure it is much better than the TV Speakers.

    Ok, but a Little Dissapointed

    I kept hearing how great Bose Speakers were, but to be honest this speaker is very average. It is loud (eventually), but you need to wait a while. For some reason you need to press the volume up button a ton to get the speaker load enough. Maybe my Speaker is defective (or maybe not), I can't imagine Bose would want Customer pressing the Volume up button a million times to raise the volume on this thing. The sound is good but I was expecting more.

    The remote is terrible push the volume button 15 times before you notice a change in volume. The sound is ok, nothing like the Bose name suggests.

    Not enough bass control and NO treble control. Even with the bass adjustment, there is still a low booming sound; and the treble (high pitched voices) are screechy!

I would recommend moving the soundbar away from any walls or cabinets to reduce the bass further. To improve the sound of treble, I would suggest enabling "Dialogue Mode" by tapping the speech bubble icon on the remote. You will see a solid yellow light on the soundbar.     The setup was very easy as I expected from Bose. I over the sound quality was very poor. The TV speakers actually sounded much better. I return the product.

    Extremely disappointed in the total volume of this item. Not worth it at all. Had to return as it would not even give basic volume in a normal family room.

    This was a HUGE disappointment. We bought it to replace an analog home theatre system in a small living room. We knew that it was just two channels but incorrectly assumed that the Bose name still meant high quality. And we thought it could do the job. We were completely wrong. No nuance, no way to adjust anything. The tv speakers sounded better than the sound bar, which did nothing more than make the sound LOUDER, and “tinny.” Nothing but volume and treble.

      We're sorry to hear about this, and would be happy to try and help!
      If you are having poor sound quality from the connected source, we would recommend a few things.
      Firstly, if there are already audio adjustments for Headphones or External Speakers on your TV, please check these to make sure this isn't trying to upscale very quiet audio!
      Additionally, we would advise that you try and adjust the bass and/or make use of dialogue mode on the speaker to adjust the overall tone of the system.
      Lastly, we would advise checking the cable connections, ensuring that these are seated correctly, and trying a replacement cable.
      If you have tried all of this and are still having audio balance issues, please get in touch with Bose Support in you region so we can help with this! bose

    I picked this up thinking with it being a Bose that it would sound amazing. I ended up returning it for a different brand that sounds a lot better.

    The Universal Remote didnt work

    Although not great, the sound was OK. The main problem was the remote. It comes with a universal remote that wouldn't work with our TV, which is also brand new. After looking online, it appears other people had the same issue with the Bose Solo 5 Soundbar. Fortunately we were able to exchange it for a Polk soundbar that works well and has better sound.

    Damaged when purchased

    Bought this as an open box item. Whoever returned it had damaged the port required to hook the unit up to the television. Unless you looked closely you could not see that the door to the port had been severely damaged. There were scratches around the port where the previous purchaser had tried to free the port up. I do not blame the store for this, but the previous purchaser, who did not own up to damaging the Bose speaker unit.

    Setup is not easy. no way of adjusting bass everything had too much bass and was annoying. Used for three days before returning.

    Very Very little bass, volume don't go up loud enough for my taste when watching a movie. It may be just good enough for a kids room, as there first surround sound system.

    Even though I had read reviews online before I bought, I figured i’d Give it a try. The reviews were right. Even at the highest volume, the sound output was way too low. I have tiny cheap Bluetooth speakers that are way better. Surprised since this was a Bose.
