The Bose SoundLink Revolve+ II is a small, but welcome, update to the original Revolve+, adding better water/dust intrusion protection as well as an extra hour of battery life. This speaker is well-made and features Bose's signature warm sound in a portable, IP55-rated enclosure with 17 hours of battery life. If you know you like Bose products and don't mind paying a premium, than the Revolve+ is a good choice for a straightforward, portable, durable Bluetooth speaker that can last all day (and then some). My first high-quality portable Bluetooth speaker was Bose's original SoundLink Mini, a speaker I used for all my music streaming needs for many years until upgrading to a Sonos system for my small aparmtent. The SoundLink Mini gave me many years of trouble-free performance so I was excited to try an updated SoundLink speaker for this review. Like the first-gen Revolve+, the Revolve+ II features the same seamless enclosure, rubber bumpers on the top and bottom, soft carrying handle and 360-degree audio design. The Revolve+ II gets you louder sound and better bass response compared to the regular Revolve in a form factor that isn't much bigger. The Revolve+ has a carrying handle that's soft yet sturdy and folds out of the way, as well as a tripod threaded screw mount on the bottom. It charges via Micro-USB and a wall charger with short cord is included. It is also compatible with a wireless charging dock accessory that I wish was included at this price but of course isn't strictly necessary. Since I use Sonos at home and this speaker for anything outside of the home I don't mind using the universal USB charging port. Like all Bose products the Revolve+ is understated yet elegant. I love the all-black look of my unit and appreciate the seamless aluminum enclosure with high-quality rubber bumpers on the top and bottom, as well as "clicky" rubber buttons on the top. The IP55 rating means this speaker should have no trouble with splashes of water by the pool or sink, nor brushes with dust and sand, but it is not fully sealed or fully waterproof -- so no showering or dunking in the pool. I had no trouble using this speaker next to the bathroom sink, where it held up to splashes and shower steam, and carrying it around outside in a pool bag with other items was no trouble at all. This speaker should be very durable, as my last Bose Soundlink product was, even though my older one had no waterproofing at all. Setup was a breeze and I appreciate the straightforward Bose Connect app, which allows you to connect to the speaker and change a few settings (like the name), siwtch between paired devices, perform product updates and connect to compatible Bose SoundLink speakers for "party mode." I had no trouble obtaining a strong Bluetooth connection from the get-go. Two features I appreciate about this speaker when paired to my iPhone 12 Pro: (1) the volume control syncs between phone and speaker, so you aren't tying to control your phone volume and your speaker volume separately, as I had to do with my older Bose SoundLink Mini, and (2) you can connect to the Revolve+ from your phone even when the speaker is off, meaning you don't have to cross the room and press the power button, you can use the Bose Connect app to turn the speaker on from a distance. I didn't know this was possible with Bluetooth but it's a neat addition, especially if you're, say, comfy in bed but want to stream music to your speaker. Battery life is very impressive with the Revolve+ -- after a few weeks of on-and-off use/standby, including a few hours-long listening sessions, the speaker is still at 80 percent battery. I'm pretty impressed with the runtime so far and imagine if I forgot the charger for a weekend away I wouldn't worry about running out of charge. Certainly a day outside should be no trouble, although of course battery life will be shorter at higher volumes -- and the Revolve+ can get plenty loud. So, how does it sound? If you've heard any of Bose's other Bluetooth speakers, you'll be right at home here. The Revolve+ has a nice, warm, well-balanced sound. Base is very good for a portable speaker of this size and design, and vocals are nice and clear at any volume. Speaking of volume, this speaker really packs a punch, easily getting too loud for indoor use before hitting the upper volume limit. In other words, you should have no trouble hearing this thing outside or over others talking. The Revolve+ is advertised as delivering better bass response than its smaller sibling, and while I haven't tested them head-to-head I can say the bass performs as you'd expect for a premium Bose product. The 360-degree design of this speaker means it sounds the same all the way around, which means you don't have to fiddle with placement to hear clear audio. That said, speaker placement still has a noticeable impact on bass response. Placing the Revolve+ near a wall or other solid surface gives the bass something to radiate off and noticeably improves response. A speaker this size is not going to rattle your walls, and if it's in the middle of an open area, bass response is going to be limited, but still noticeable and definitely better than many cheaper/smaller speakers. My only negative comment on the sound: there's a bit of a "processed" sound on some songs and at louder volumes, something that is present to varying degrees on most any Bluetooth speaker. Having become used to the high-bandwidth streaming of my Sonos system (which uses WiFi to stream music directly from the cloud) I noticed these Bluetooth compression artifacts, but wasn't distracted by them. Audio was still clear and balanced overall with the variety of genres I streamed. In sum, the Revolve+ II is a small upgrade from the first-gen model, but the IP55 and 17-hour battery life are really nice to have, and both are more-or-less required to compete at this price point. Like all Bose products, the Revolve+ II offers simplicity, solid construction and a nice, warm, balanced sound. With proper placement, it wasn't far behind my (Wifi-connected) Sonos One in audio quality indoors, and easily bests my older Bose SoundLink Mini and the UE Wonderboom I've used the past few years. For the price, I would have appreciated full-waterproofing, but as-is the Revolve+ II brushes off splashes from the sink or pool just fine. A USB-C charging connection would have been nice, too, but plenty of devices still use the Micro-USB standard and I'm glad Bose didn't use a proprietary charging connection. I think this product is a great choice for a straightforward, Bluetooth-only speaker that is perfectly portable and can last all day (and then some). If you know you like Bose, you should find yourself right at home with the Revolve+.

I love listening to my Bachata on this speaker. I can hear high treble sounds from the instruments and the low base sounds that filled the room.

The item is adequate for small gatherings or personal enjoyment. the sound quality is typical bose and consistent with other bose products. However, the sound loudness is minimum. I thought it would be louder. there was not an opportunity to test the loudness of the system at the store and the same was not offered

The product is truly amazing but I will tell you if you buy any item from Best Buy you do not need a warranty with the item they are scamming you 100%. I have many Bose products and I’ve never had any issues getting a replacement. This company is stealing your money go buy it someplace else but the item is awesome
