I spent over two hours contemplating between: 1. Klipsch tower + Yamaha receiver/amplifier surround set-up 2. Sonos Play 5 3. Sonos Playbar 4. Bose Soundtouch 300 Let me begin by saying that I was completely mesmerized by the sound of the Bose Soundtouch 300 the first time I heard it. It was nothing like I've ever heard before. For some reason the stores favor the Sonos apparatus but Bose is simply a notch ahead. Bose fits my bill in terms of an elegant sound experience with ultra crisp sound quality. If you are looking for a an all round home theater with true "surround" experience (unlike many other soundbars) + an equally top of the line music listening experience then look no further. I have not coupled it with the sub-woofer since I live in a residential condo but the combination is simply amazing and unprecedented and is definitely my next addition. P.S. I purchased the Soundtouch 30 previously because it was cheaper and wasn't sure if the Soundtouch 300 would carry the same bass. Not comparing apples to apples but the Soundtouch 300 really is a class of its own period.

I was looking at getting a wireless system to replace my standard 5.1 surround system. I had heard many sound bars, never once impressed. Could you possibly get the same immersive sound you need to truly delve into a movie? Well they had a demo set up at a store I was in. I decided to mess with the demo while I was waiting. And..... I am a believer! I came back the next week and bought both the Sound Touch 300 sound bar, subwoofer and wireless speakers.

I purchased the Soundtouch 300 for my loft which is 18x13 feet and this soundbar by itself fills every corner with loud, crisp and clear audio. I sometimes hear sound coming from places where the speaker is not present. The setup is simple and clean with only one wire connecting the TV to the soundbar.

I made the mistake of initially going with a cheap Samsung soundbar with my new LG OLED and it was horrific to say the least. I'm actually thankful one of the rear speakers broke down after just a few weeks but within the exchange window so I decided to jump all the way to the best there is. Not only is the sound phenomenal but it adds a lot of value to my new OLED 4K because without a great sound system you're not really experiencing everything you're meant to enjoy with Dolby surround sound and Atmos. I had some issues pairing at first but their phenomenal customer service spent well over an HOUR dedicated to making sure everything was working great (i.e. don't forget to turn on your CEC permissions). Love the app, Pandora sounds amazing and love all the features it controls. Got the Acoustimass Bass and together they're....I just don't have the words. If you can splurge the 1400 for the set don't think just get it! Can't wait to complete the set with the rear speakers.

Clear sound with support for two subwoofers!

Summary: The bright, clear output from the sound bar and surround speakers plus the clean but truly thunderous, room-filling bass from having two subwoofers overcome the livable miscues. Demo: Stop by your local Best Buy to see if they have it on display. Their web site said no stores in my area had it on display, but one of the stores that had the speakers in stock did in fact have a functioning display. The provided demo material is good, but one of the things that sold me was that the demo allows you to pair your own phone with the demo display via Bluetooth. I pulled up a favorite song and enabled the sub on the display, which gave me a better idea of the system's capabilities. Pros: - The sound. It is a big improvement in every way over my previous system. (Which was a Sonos PlayBar, Sub, and two Play 3s as surrounds). The highs are brighter, the mids are clearer, and the ability to have two subwoofers results in thunderous bass that actually fills the room. The sound is the reason the cons are livable. - ‎Support for two subwoofers. This was one of my main requirements, and wow what a difference. As mentioned, the bass now finally fills the entire room. I initially only had one sub paired and there was an obvious improvement when I paired the second sub. Having only one sub in my previous system resulted in weak bass in certain spots in the room. That is no longer a problem. - Bass button on the remote. Having quick control over the amount of bass on a physical remote is practically a requirement, especially with two subwoofers in the system. - ‎The output from the rear surrounds. Having rear surrounds was another requirement for me. It is much clearer than on my previous system. I am hearing things I never heard from my previous surrounds, regardless of past adjustments. - ‎Surround speaker size. The surround speakers are much smaller than in my previous system so the are less obtrusive, yet they sound better, as mentioned. - HDMI input and output with ARC. My previous system only had a single optical audio input, so I had to obtain an optical switch. Having a single ARC connection to my TV (Sony XBR-X850C) is much more convenient, partly due to the HDMI-CEC capability. - ‎DTS decoding. My previous system never got the ability to process DTS, so I had to jump through hoops with the optical switch and using my HTPC to play Blu-Ray discs with a special USB sound card in order to have it convert DTS to Dolby Digital 5.1. Apparently a few select Blu-Ray player can accomplish that as well, but I didn't want another piece of equipment. Cons - The in-app WiFi setup process. It required manual intervention from me to get the app to communicate with the sound bar at all. I had to figure out for myself that I had to manually connect my phone (Pixel 2 XL) to the temporary WiFi network on the sound bar to proceed with the rest of the in-app WiFi setup for connecting to my real home WiFi network. I followed the in-app help but it didn't mention the possibility of needing to manually switch networks. - ‎Speaker status in the app. Once you get the app set up it has good features except that it doesn't show you anything about status of the other speakers paired to the sound bar. You can turn the surrounds or subwoofers on or off, so you can infer that they are connected, but to know for sure you have to listen/feel for the sound. Or in the case of the subs, check the status light on each of them. I would also like to know if each speaker is running the latest firmware, for example. - ‎No built-in IR repeater on the back of the sound bar. Although the SoundTouch 300 is almost an inch shorter than my previous sound bar, it still blocks the IR signal from the remote to the TV when holding it normally from a seated position. I have to raise my arm to about shoulder height to allow the TV to see the remote. - ‎Unable to switch between HDMI audio and optical audio. I purchased a Chromecast audio in the hopes that switching would be easy, or ideally automatic, but that's not the case. To get the Chromecast audio to work, I begin with the TV off, then start up a cast session to the sound bar, then switch on the sound bar. Unfortunately that also powers on the TV, which I didn't want. Sound from the sound bar keeps playing from the Chromecast audio, which is good, but thanks to CEC, if I turn off the TV the sound bar also turns off, which I don't want. This problem could go away if Bose and Google offer support for Google Home integration for the SoundTouch 300. Finally: I highly recommend this system for it's high quality and powerful sound. Once I heard the entire system in my home I quickly got over the livable setup and minor usage inconveniences. I demoed other sound bars with Dolby Atmos, and the effects we're impressive, but in the end the sound quality and two subwoofers sold me on the Bose. I briefly considered going back to a component-based system with a separate home theater receiver, but this fits my needs and is less complicated to operate and less obtrusive.

There's no getting around the fact that this Bose soundbar is pricey, but with Bose, you get what you pay for! I love this soundbar! It's high and mid-range is rich and clear, definitely no "tinny" or garbled sound here. On top of that the bass is deep but not overpowering, quite impressive for a soundbar. I spent a lot of time going in between listening to the Sonos and the Bose soundbars and to me, the Bose won out. Setup is super easy via included HDMI or optical audio cables. The soundbar even adjusts the sound to your specific room as part of the setup! The WiFi setup via the Bose Soundtouch app is very simple and once completed, you can stream online music from the speaker from anywhere via your cell phone/app. So, while this may be a pricey upgrade for your home audio system, you won't be disappointed!

This sound bar is awesome! It differs from other sound bars because it creates surround sound from just the sound bar. Even without purchasing the subwoofer, it is capable of producing bass to give it a richness of sound. Add the sub and it takes it to a whole new level! Definitely worth every penny!

What else do you expect from Bose, but amazing sound quality. As far as pricing goes this is not going to be the cheapest sound bar by any means. But if you are looking for a long lasting great quality amazing sound bar with easy expandability and a very simple setup this is the product for you.

The Bose 300 Soundtouch bar was easy to set up and configure to my room. Being able to sync my music through the sound bar is awesome as well. The sound is very good and clear. If you want more base then add the wireless sub woofer. I will add later as well as the rear wireless cube speakers.

Bose makes an awesome product, I am speechless. This soundbar can be calibrated for the 5 most "usual" listening places in your house, and it calibrates to make it sound like it's everywhere... AMAZING. Coupled this with their bass module and it sounds incredible. In a word - WOW!

I bought these in hope of using for a surround system with my new 65" tv. While they sound great, I had some troubles getting the HDMI (ARC) connection to work consistently. I then switched to the optical connection and it worked fine. Side-by-side w/ the Sonos these are comparable, with an edge in bass to the Bose. However, the Sonos App blows the Bose app out of the water.
