Bose SoundWear
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow! Bose has done it again. I love the experience these wearable bluetooth speakers provide. I use it almost everyday and connect it to my AppleTV, Apple Watch, MacBook Pro and iPhone X. I like that I can have a personal sound bubble on my shoulder and have consistent Bose sound quality everywhere I go. I like using these while cleaning the house, doing laundry and while doing homework all without having sweat in my ears. Since it’s humid where I live. They are perfectly weighted and don't become bothersome after prolong use, it's comfortable. They are even comfortable for me when I lay down in bed. You can reshape the wideness of the speaker by pulling both sides apart or make it more snug by pulling both sides inwards. These speakers can get loud and have good bass sound for something small. (Don't expect subwoofer bass). I don't think you need to make it too loud to enjoy your music. If someone is sitting next to you they too may hear your music depending on the volume settings. There are convenient volume buttons, multifunction, power and bluetooth button on the device. You can connect up to two different audio sources at one time and can toggle between your connected and previously connected devices by double pressing the bluetooth button. It has voice prompts which helps you to know the battery status, current paired devices and status of device (powered on, disconnected, ready to pair device, connected to xxxxx device). You can also use the Bose app on your smart phone to setup and update the Bose SoundWear. The multifunction button is used to provoke Siri on an iPhone or other virtual assistants on Android and to answer incoming calls. Phone calls sound crisp and the person on the other side said that the microphone quality sounds good and not like a tin can sound like some cheap bluetooth speakerphones. There are five white LEDs on the side for battery status and it's enclosed in a nice zippered faux leather and mesh material which you can buy additional colors to personalize or to match your outfit. To charge all you do is unzip the enclosure a few inches then plug in the micro USB. Unlike regular earbuds or headphones which restricts the ambient noises of your environment, this Bose SoundWear allows you to be alert of your surroundings. Use them while walking outdoors by the road or while riding a bike, in a parking lot, or while in a room and someone unknowingly walks in, you won't get startled. I don't recommend running or working out with these as they will bounce around and fall or just be annoying.

Innovative Product, Not Perfect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This neck speaker is an interesting idea, a speaker that you wear, and listen to your music in your own 'bubble.' To start, the speaker looks oddly different, and your may receive some odd looks from people not knowing what it is. Although, when wearing it, it is pretty comfortable thanks to the cover on it - a cover in which has different colors you could order. The speaker also seems pretty durable and flexible as well, also is water resistant and the battery life is pretty decent. Another welcome feature, is the familiar vibrations when you receive a phone call - clever idea. Also, the speaker makes it easy to connect to devices and the bluetooth connectivity seems to be much improved from last year's Bose products. As far as sound quality, the music you listen to when wearing the speaker really is kept around you, and other people can barely hear your music being played - although this depends on the volume your listen to your music at as well as someone's distance from you. That being said, the sound quality when wearing it around your neck is not as impressive as I expected from a Bose product. Sound quality is smooth and balanced, although sounded a bit distant considering the fact it lays right below your ears. The bass adjustment within the Bose Connect app was a welcome feature, although, there is no option to increase the bass - only decrease it. It would be nice to see Bose further improve on the customization of sound within the Connect app across their whole line of products. To sum things up, this is a great and innovative product Bose has, but in my opinion, you are better off using headphones.

Unique Speaker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I recieved this product I was super excited to try it out. Once the set up was completed, I examined the product to become familiar with it. I tried it on and found that it fit comfortably around my neck. I turned it on and paired it with my device and was completely blown away by the crystal clear sound, and the bass. I immediately went to work on my daily chores around the house. All while listening to some of my favorite music. The Bose Soundwear Companion Speaker is sweat, and weather proof, so I can also wear it on my morning walks and while working in my garden. I applied to review this product because I wanted to compare it to other wireless speakers that I own. I must admit, the Bose Soundwear companion stood it's ground and out performed every wireless speaker in my home. The sound of it is amazing, and I wear and play it almost every day.

Comfortable SoundWear
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using this product every day and multiple times a day. I love music! So having a product that you can wear while cleaning, walking, cooking, sitting at your desk and etc, is just amazing. It's very comfortable and not heavy. Going for walks makes me feel better now because I'm more aware of my surroundings. There is so many great things about this product. If your out walking and you start to sweat or if it starts to rain, it's ok. The SoundWear is sweat and weather resistant. If your on a schedule and you have 20 minutes before you have to leave to go for a walk, 15 minutes of a charge will give you 3 hours. I have tested everything they said this SoundWear would do and they did it. I absolutely love this product. Bose never let's me down.

Not for everyone but perfect for my setup!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a setup that makes the Bose SoundWear Companion a perfect solution. I'm currently doing my quarantine time at a friend's private guest house in Florida in which I am using my laptop connected to a 32" monitor to do work as well as watch TV (I subscribe to YouTube TV). The audio coming out of my laptop is very low for many audio sources and programming I watch. And because of the limited space, my laptop is sitting on a chair well off to the right of the monitor I watch programming from. I didn't want to buy a large computer speaker setup but still wanted quality sound. I remember when I first saw this speaker in the Best Buy stores a few years ago and thought to myself..."Why would anyone need something like this!?". Well...that was well before I found myself in my current setup. For movies and general audio from news, talk shows, etc. The sound is very impressive for the size of this speaker. And I really do like the deep, full bass and the vibrations the speakers give off during deep bass audio playback. Does it sound like a full-blown Dolby Digital surround sound system which I have back in my house in Vegas? Absolutely not...but again...considering how compact this speaker is...the sound is definitely more than one would expect from this size of a speaker. Now...as for music...if you have nothing else to compare it to...then most would be equally impressed. But it's not even close to a decent 2 speaker stereo setup and certainly not as good as my Sony - WH-1000XM3 headphones. However...when it comes to riding my bike around town and listening to music...this speaker is perfect! I see people riding around town along side traffic, cars coming from every direction with headphones or ear-plugs having no way to hear what's coming up behind them or from any other direction. No thanks! So, this product certainly solves that issue. And for VR like the Oculus Quest...it is definitely a big improvement over the built-in Quest speakers. And lastly...the Bluetooth connectivity on this is probably the most stable and easy Bluetooth connection of any wireless Bluetooth product I've ever owned! Seriously...turn it on and it immediately connects to up to two devices simultaneously without any need to go into your device's Bluetooth setup (after the initial 1st time connection setup) to make it happen. And switching back and forth between the two devices is extremely smooth. The only reason I did not give this a 5 star rating is what many other's have mentioned and something perhaps Bose can consider approving upon should they decide to release a new version. Charging! I use this thing everyday and need to charge it at the end of the day after a full day's use. Don't get me wrong...battery life is impressive and gets me through the day of heavy use but I need to top it off to 100% for the next day. Having to unzip the cover and fight with getting the micro-USB connected to it (usually late at night after a few drinks, with the lights out and barely half awake) through the cover is not fun. At the very least...this should have been a USC-C connection so you don't have to worry about which way you are trying to plug it in. But the best solution would be something like Sony has for their comparable speaker (although the Sony is not wireless) where they have a charging base. The only obstacle to that is of course the removable cover. If you want to keep the cover on at all times...I'm not sure how it would work? But for those who don't use the cover...a charging base would be perfect. Is the Bose SoundWear for everyone? Absolutely not if you have no reason or benefit from needing to listen to audio or music without covering your ears with headphones or ear buds. But for my set up...it has definitely proved to be perfect for what I need it for. Drew

Excellent alternative to earplugs or headphones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off... The sound quality is amazing. These are geared towards quiter environments though. Don't get me wrong... These can get to really loud volumes but they can not down out really loud noises. I have them on all day long... From the moment I leave home till I get back. No stress on the neck or shoulders. At about 25 to 30% volume they are quiet enough for my neighbors ( I work in an open office with collages at about 6 ft from me). I really love these.

I'm a Motor Cycle Rider!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Problem is in a helmet there is no room for ear buds or even wired head sets, not only that it's dangerous because you can't hear traffic. These are almost perfect. They sit on my neck shooting great sound through my helmet loud enough that I can hear music while my my motorcycle is roaring and I can hear traffic comfortably. I said almost because I also like the wireless in-ear set behind my neck type for the time I don't want to bother others, and keep my music and conversations to myself. the best hybrid would be being able to have Bose, and add additional stereo headphones, and build in jacks. For both when relaxing and for when in a library. But they are very Good what I expect from Bose!!

Innovative “Open-Back” Audio Exerience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s a bluetooth speaker (with great sound and adjustable bass/dialouge level) and a speaker phone in one. It rests very comfortably around your neck and comes in a stylish, durable sleeve with a quality zipper. It is all VERY thoughtfully designed as you would expect for the price. Everyone I show it to is more than pleasantly surprised by it. Given the price of other wireless speakers -better yet, wireless multiroom speakers- of this quality, the price seems worth it. I own Sennheiser HD650 headphones which are “Open-Back.” This means sound is allowed in and out resulting in an audio experience more outside of your head compared to “normal” over-ear headphones that isolate sound by creating a seal. While the comparison is not apples to apples, the point is that it’s a different way of listening than most people are used to. The Bose headphones give you great situational awareness. People can hear noise but only the high frequency noises like hi hats and squeaking on guiar strings and so on. It creates what seems like a sphere of sound that feels like a capsule around your head. It’s cool! Another factor that makes this price high, even somewhat for Bose, is that this is a very inventive product that other brands will soon and already are rolling out (ie. JBL). I’d definitely encourage anyone to at least try out the demo unit at any local Best Buy. It won’t have the snazzy sleeve on it but whatever. Last thing is to remember to use it with the app. At least at the beginning for the firmware update but also to see the tutorial and to adjust the dialouge/bass tuner.

Amazing speakers for many things.
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this on a daily basis for work, got tired of having buds in my ears, and having cups around it only for it to get sweaty if headphones do not have proper air flow. Goes around your neck and most times doesn’t feel like it’s there, I can listen to music hear in on sounds if something were to happen during work or have conversation without needing to take a bud out or taking the headphones off. A very nice ease of life change to how I listen to my music and interact with my surroundings. It is a “speaker” and not a headset I would say because it still gets loud enough for others to hear when volume is eventually raised loud enough if that is a slight concern, and depending on the volume it could be something along the lines of not noticing right away, or loud enough to use as an actual speaker system when wanting to something louder than what your phones got with good clarity for others to enjoy. I would easily buy the next line of what this series would offer next as I have had such a great experience using this in my daily life. If you’re wondering about the bass, Bass is good, but not something that can beat an actual sound system. Still great though, get some nice vibrations around your neck and if good enough gets your eardrums in an interesting way. The whole experience changed I how approach my options for listening to music outside of my house.

Great addition to my audio accessories
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I work in an office with lots of people who never shut up and do work that requires focus and concentration, so after feeling, once again, like I was going to punch someone - I drove over to Best Buy and grabbed this baby. It's super comfortable on my neck and the sound is amazing, without isolating me from sounds I might NEED to hear, yet drowning out the gossip and speaker phone conference calls. I spent the first few minutes putting it down on the desk and walking to nearby cubicles to verify that nobody else could hear what I was playing. I don't want to be That Person, the one that irritates me by playing their music on a speaker instead of headphones. The volume I choose is loud enough to hear well for me, but not so loud that you can hear it outside of my personal space. And my ears aren't getting sore from wearing in-ear buds. Yep - it may have helped save my reputation as an easy-to-get-along-with coworker. Nobody needs to know how much they irritate TF out of me.

Very impressed!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I no longer wear any kind of earbuds due to ear problems I have acquired. I purchased a nice pair of over the ear headphones, but I do not always want to use those. I stumbled upon these Bose SoundWear on another website where they were half price. Best Buy did a price match for me, so I went for it! So happy I did! The sounds is awesome, they are very comfortable, and they hold a massive charge. They are great while driving. I can turn the car radio on the back speakers for the family, and wear these and listen to whatever I want from compatible devices. And if you turn these down to a 2 or 3, I can still easily hear them, but others about 2-3 feet away cannot. The one downside I see to these is they would not be able to used in a gym setting. I know they would go flying off my shoulders, however, I don't know why I ever would use these since you'd have to crank them up and then everyone can hear what you are listening to in that case. Highly recommend for someone who doesn't want to always wear headphones and likes a sense of "freedom" when listening to podcasts, music, audiobooks, etc.

A very good first effort
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very innovative product. Pros: the sound is good, it allows for personal listening while not closing you off from the world, Bose quality. Cons: price is on the high side; even when played at a relatively low level, other people can hear it fairly clearly. It's also a little on the heavy side, though I wouldn't call it uncomfortable and you can park it on your neck and just leave it there. I wound up returning it because it wasn't the best fit for me; but I'm sure that the next iteration will be better. As it is, though, for a first effort it is very good.

Best, Buy, Ever
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This, date I say, might be the best device I have ever purchased, it's Amazing sound is comparable with almost nothing, being what it is. You get to hear music as if it's playing in your head, without anything in or over your ears, blocking out the rest of the world. With easy controls on the device itself, never have to touch your phone to pause, change song, answer calls, raise and lower volume and etc. The sleek and comfortable design goes with most clothing, or blends in if need be, and sits so nice around the neck you could easily forget it was there. Dropping it more than a few times, it has become clear how sturdy and we'll made this device is as well, with very little wear and tear. Coming up on a year of purchase I still use it at least every other day, if not every day

Great for just relaxing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had first demo’d the Soundwear Companion at a Bose store. I have to admit at first I was underwhelmed...but still intrigued. So I started reading the reviews and time and again everyone kept remarking how pleasantly surprised they were once they got used to this soft padded ‘horseshoe’ that circles your neck. The sound is best described as ‘soothing’ and unobtrusive. In a quiet room people around you most definitely can hear your music (or streaming movie, etc). If you need ‘privacy’ this is not what you want. I also have really good headphones I wear instead when it would be obnoxious to have these on (e.g., traveling, in bed with your partner, at a library. Lol). My only design criticism for Bose is that they did a really sloppy job locating the micro USB charging jack—you have to partially unzip the very nice included fabric cover and pull it open to access the charging plug. Lame. A conductive charger would have been a much more elegant solution. In sum though, when I do not want to be isolated and utterly immersed in my own private headspace, this unit is my go-to ‘headset’ for music and streaming when I’m just relaxing (sitting).

My doctor, massage therapist, colleague bought one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a cyclist, so a headphone or earbud is not a good option for listening while on a 50 mile ride. The Bose Soundware is like carrying a couple of high end speakers on the handlebars, except it nicely fits under the helmet. However, its real value is taking mobile device calls while in the office. My cube colleagues are unable to hear the conversations, and I can hear them perfectly. The sound quality for music is spectacular. The battery life is amazing. Even with listening to books or music while commuting, I'm getting 2 to 3 days of use without recharge. It's so light, I forget it's on my shoulders. My doctor saw it, heard it, and bought one that evening. My massage therapist got one for running. A colleague at work, actually 3 colleagues at work bought them as well.

Clever, nice sound, fearful of having it fall off
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to like this product, really wanted it to fit my bill for wearing these around the house to listen to music without overwhelming family members who may have different taste in music. It has a great sound, is comfortable (as long as you have a collared shirt on), but it kept almost falling off (caught it each time) whenever I was hanging laundry, getting out of my recliner, & other such activities around the house. I couldn't imagine having it drop off when bicycling or skating onto a road surface. I ended up taking it back & settling for my Bose Buds (as I call them, Bose Sound Sport Free Truly Wireless....too long a name in my book) & my Bose SoundSport® Wireless In-Ear Headphones (which have a connecting wire & clip & longer battery life than my Buds), leaving one of the sides not fully inserted so I can still hear ambient sound of others around me. If Bose can find a way to make is stay on during activities, I would consider it down the road....

Unbelievable experience! As if in a concert hall.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow. These speakers are crazy! They don’t go in, or over your ears. They rest on your shoulders, like when you put a towel around your neck. The sound is amazing. You can’t really pinpoint where the sound is coming from, it surrounds your ears so well. I am not an audiophile. So I cannot speak to the highs and lows and such. All I know is I can hear everything I want to very clearly. It also gets very loud. I don’t use them past half volume so far. The battery life seems good as well. Charging is a bit awkward. You have to unzip the cover, and fit the power cable through the slot in the cover. It charges quickly enough, though. It is Bose. That speaks for itself.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I asked for AirPods, I got this.... I thought I would be returning it after a week but I will be keeping them for as long as it lasts because it’s awesome! The sound is exceptional. I use it at work in a open cube situation and people that work 3ft from me can’t hear my music but I can clearly. It is also very comfortable. At full volume it’s a great speaker too. The sound for phone calls on both ends of the conversation is clear.

Excellent For What I Use Them For
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for a great headphone experience without the headphones part, then these are for you. They sit on my shoulders comfortably and have great surround sound. I currently have some sort of skin irritation on my ears, so having a break from traditional over-the-ear headphones is really nice. They have a good battery life, too. I let them sit on my desk for about 2 weeks without use (they were off) and I came back to battery life that was only 10% lower than the last time I used them. The outer cloth sleeve is a little hard to get on and off, but it is possible to charge the headphones without taking it off (I found that out the hard way). Overall, it's a good pair of headphones.
