    Interesting Concept, but .....

It's a great concept, but not for me. Its great for people who like to or need to move around while listening to music. Its great for people who need to be able to hear their surroundings while listening to music. But for me, If most of my time now, is sitting down and not needing to hear a Baby crying in the background or needing to hear your wife calling to do your next Honeydew, while listening to your favorite salsa music. It didn't work for me. I love BOSE sound, and this was no exception. The sound while being very well-balanced, especially the bass is quite good for being emitted through an open space, due to their clever speaker design that points towards your ears. But, then I get much better wholesome quality sound with a greater awesome bass, from my other BOSE products i.e. headphone and from BOSE wifi - wireless speakers (I have several). BOSE is great. So no knock on BOSE. Its the design of the product and it all comes down on your needs. I'd rather "feel" the sound. Unless, your one of those that like to have one of everything and for every possibility, even if you rarely use it. I used to be, but not any more. Trying to downsize. So being realistic, its clever, but .... I returned mine. I still love BOSE Products.

    Great Mid-Fi Fun

The sound is not hi-fi by any means. But it's a fun experience. Bose uses a lot of digital processing to create a bubble of sound around your head. Signals below about 200 hertz get pumped out in a 180 degree phase shift that creates a highly defused and wide sound field. The bass ports are funneled through a tube so that the back wave from the right speaker exits under your left ear and vice versa. They also use their proprietary target curve that is far from neutral, but very satisfying. This is more than just putting a couple of small speakers on your shoulders. The biggest barrier to purchase is finding a use case scenario that justifies $300. Look, this is a personal speaker that answers a question no-one ever asked. But I really like it. It's like when DVRs came out in the mid-2000s. I didn't think I needed it, but now I can't imagine TV without it. When I use this product, I find myself singing along with a bunch of my songs for some reason. The speaker is very engaging. Somehow it can quickly tap into the right side of my brain. You know how sometimes your driving down the road and all of a sudden all the songs on the radio just make sense? The same songs you've heard before now seem to rock out like never before. When that happens you're getting a small dose of dopamine released into your brain. I don't know why, but this Bose makes that happen with more frequency and sooner than usual when listening to music. I'm not the only one either. I've let a few friends borrow the Bose for a few days each and they have all gone out and bought one. It's not the same as trying to demo the speaker on the sales floor of your local Best Buy. So yeah, great mid-fi fun! If you spend time just listening to music (and even if you don't), I highly recommended these personal speakers. (And I don't even like other Bose speakers.) -Carlos R.

    Just brilliant sound

I got my Bose Soundwear today and it's just BRILLIANT ! The sound is exceptional, it paired right up with the Bluetooth dongle I have on my Roku TV, my phone and everything else I wanted. The Soundwear will pair up with up to 8 devices, which is plenty. Even though it pairs to 8 devices, it can be connected to only two devices at a time, my tv and my phone for instance. If I want to listen to music on my tablet, I must 'disconnect' from the TV, which doesn't un-pair the TV, it just switches devices. One thing Bose didn't make a point of in their product description is there is a MICROPHONE, so I can use it to talk on the phone, just like any normal earbuds. The controls are simple. You should get the Bose+ app on your phone from Itunes or Google Play, to see the manual, directions and pair your devices. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND the Bose Soundwear. It's a little pricey, but, well... Bose!

I have purchased a lot of Bose over the years, so the price on this was too good to pass up. I use for work (at home) con calls and Skype calls, as well as listening to music, news from my phone when I'm working. It has great Bose sound and is more comfortable than wearing a headset or switching back and forth with work and personal headphones. It allows me to walk around, take calls when I go to get coffee or water and it is nice to connect with both the computer at phone at the same time. It may be my work computer that is the issue, but it often has challenges switching programs (soft phone, Skype, etc.) The box does not include instructions, you have to use the Bose Connect app to get the demo of button features. Not sure who designed the mute function, but pressing both volume up/down for mute when it is on your neck is very awkward - you have to use both hands. It is more targeted for ease of music playing and switching devices than ease of con calls. All in all, a good purchase for the price, though.

I love living in music but hate having things in or on my ears unless I'm actually trying to drown out the world. I had seen other brands release similar products but didn't have the directional sound aspect quite down. The Bose Soundwear fits comfortably all day and wraps your head in a music bubble. You will hear an amazing difference when this thing takes position. You can turn it down to the point that only you can hear it... and still hear and interact with life around you. You can also raise the volume and, incredibly, drown out the world (downside is too loud will be heard by others, could also be good!). This Bose product has got to be my favorite accessory to music... ever! If they release a more comfy cover it will be perfect!

These work very well with the Bluetooth transmitter I also purchased. I use them for watching TV, movies. etc. I have some hearing loss and having the speakers next to my ears helps a lot. They are very comfortable. So much so that I sometimes forget I have them on my shoulders/neck. They have very good bluetooth range and I can walk around the house and still hear the audio. It pairs to two bluetooth devices, which is convenient. The only thing I don't like is that the microUSB charging port is behind a zipper that you have to unzip to access it. It is a little fiddly to plug the charging cable in, but not that bad. The charge lasts quite a while so I don't have to recharge it very often.

I love the bose soundwear. I have been using it for two years now. I use it when I go biking and also when I walk the dogs. It surprisingly stay on my shoulders easily. I was afraid it would fall off as I moved - but it does not. And they are comfortable and the sound is fantastic. Other people do hear them though so you cannot use them if the other people around you do not want to hear your music or audio books. But then I use earphones instead. Also these can answer your phone if it wrings while you are using them. So if I am walking the dogs and someone calls, I can answer the call and talk.

This is sooooo great & a dream come true for people like me who do not like earbuds/anything sticking in my ears or headphones! You may like this even if you don't mind earbuds, etc.-- as an alternative. I absolutely love the sound these produce! I also like to use it with my phone for calls! It was over my budget, but I am so glad I splurged on this! When I tried it in the store I was afraid it might be a bit too heavy; but after walking around with it for most of the day, I can honestly say I sometimes forgot I was still wearing it! I also like that I can still hear what is going on around me, making it a safer alternative for walking in the city or the woods. I highly recommend this product!!!

Bought this after a friend recommended it and really love it so I bought one for my employees too. I hate putting ear buds in my ears, so this was a welcome change. I use it everyday while I'm working, to keep my hands free, and I have also used it while riding my bike and my motorcycle. Works great for both! You can listen to your music or talk on the phone. It didn't work too well for jogging outside though because it jumped around on my shoulders a bit too much. It would probably do well on a treadmill or elliptical though. It sounds great and the battery lasts all day too. Well worth the money.

This is...yet, another unique device designed by Bose that sure has had me perplexed from the very beginning. Now, At the time of this writing (28APR2018) and the time I acquired my unit, (LateFEB2018) it is something not typically seen in stores across the country. After receiving “The Bose SoundWear” online, I would quickly come to find out what little some Best Buy employees come to actually know about this new product. The first thing that I realized while hearing their conversations with customers when acquiring about the device, simply because it was never in stock or “in-store.” Bose is known for superb audio acoustics and for their innovative audio innovations enjoyed by beginners or the audiophiles out there. Bose is to Samsung as audio speakers are to mobile smartphones tablets, & phones. Samsung alone...files thousands of patents each year, but they never actually ever reach the drawing board for design in attempt for production. In fact, almost 1% of Samsung’s patents ever reach production. I mention this because Bose is another company that insanely follows suit. (I actually don’t really know who follows who, or whether they have anything to do with each other; other than their unique ways of advancing technology to the tops of technology’s summit. So goes for Bose. Their new CEO has recently allowed the black-and-white disappear to have complete in transparency into their company. Bose as well, files thousands of patents each year with innovative technology. As an avid Bose owner myself, owning many of their 2016-2018 lines of products, it doesn’t take long to see that they don’t get carried away with such “over-the-top” outward appearance designs that we often see in “tech” today. With Bose, I have come to understand it’s not what is outside that “woos” people, it’s their consistency in “the magic that lies inside” It’s their ‘sometimes basic’ & outward appearance. If you ever get a chance to take apart a Bose product, you will see where & maybe why all those patents exist. I mention this, because I think it has merit to the following review. I am stunned, take for example, the small Bose “Soundlink” series of the bluetooth portable speaker. The impressive range of sound frequencies, their capability of playing a vast array of musical content without distortion, and...while playing such deep and rich sound - that..never siezes to amaze me. And until you open up or take apart (doesn’t matter how old the Bose device is) one of their devices, you will then see the incredible amount of craftsmanship, innovation, creativity that goes into producing such rich music. You’ll find baffles and tunnels, and interesting ways to route audio waves before the waves exit the device. Take for example, the SoundWear, the review I really should be talking about, the amount of delicate precision in design that was put into this. I felt I needed to explain the above information to give you an idea of what the speaker is, how it works, and where the waves travel inside the device to be able to eventually hear them in your ears. You can obviously go look up this device up on YouTube to see how they are made. A flexible round and comfortable horse-shoe ring with a small area to be able to put on the device, it simply rests on your shoulders. The entire unit has literally a maze of tunnels and small baffles that travel in two directions. Your left speaker actually plays out to the right, & vice versa - originating from the opposite side traveling up and through the neck band and out the opposite port. There’s enough bass in this product to not only hear the sound, but feel with your fingers the air as it pushes outward from the ports on each side, near your ears, originating from the other side. Unique -yes. Stylish...yes. Perhaps this is one Bose product that I have seen where “appearance and style” actually come into play. It’s new, it’s revolutionary! With a black cover, part-leather & part fabric, the cover wraps around the unit for protection. I was surprised to find other colors that fit the unit: from blue, tan, to purple. This is one product that is extreme “for Bose” in my opinion for the outward appearance of their audio speakers. I purchased a second cover, a blue one to match much of the apparel I wear. You can hardly tell you are wearing it, or anyone else for that reason. At $299, placing a different cover on seemed challenging as I thought I needed to be somewhat gentle with it to keep its horse-shoe shape.....but no... I had to YouTube it to know how to put it on! Crazy! It honestly freaked me out how you have to bend it the opposite direction, twisting it, pulling it, and well....such unorthodox-like ways where you definitely think your investment would be gone. It’s flexibility and sleekness surprised me. I was hard on it. It is made well. The microphone, perhaps the favorite of mine, for calls or for whatever audio capturing application you need. Such clarity! The option button for “Google Assistant” if you are into that kind thing may be useful. Finally, the audio. This is the biggest area of expertise and honesty where employees need to know most about. ...and for that reason alone - a 4 star review. Again, for whatever reason, I’m not sure why time & time again why I’m told - as well as over-hearing employees telling consumers that the listener, or the “wearer” or “user” of the headphones playing their music would be “the only one” that would hear the audio coming from an outside speaker-no matter the volume! Even at 100% volume. Skeptical- yes. It just doesn’t jive with basic physics. Interesting enough, and to some truth, the unit was made with its acoustics-in-mind for the user “to listen to the ambient noise derived from this” and not to have people around hear it so much. Impressive?! Somewhat....but absolutely to no extent of not needing to worry about disturbing other people around them. This principle, a very big sales pitch too, ONLY works listening at VERY low volumes. I would rate this 5 stars, but because of the ongoing myths and false talking points about this item, perhaps; just due to lack of actually experiencing it, or I don’t know...not educated on this product, It’s beyond me. But for the purpose of this review, what is written has been observed. And since this is a Best Buy review on behalf of a product, I believe to some extent, especially if their is only one way to review - when their viably can be two - similar to eBay & Amazon - A review for the manufacturer of the product, and the review for the reseller or store. I am left to give my best information relative to the entire product satisfaction. Part of that satisfaction (at least for me is the process from purchasing to experiencing.) It would only be fair to include the Best Buy “experience” which I believe it to be so closely married to the product, well; all of their products for the sake of a review- for both good and bad. I think it has become somewhat clear that the SoundWear may likely not become one of Bose’s flagship products, nor part of Best Buy’s ”in-store” inventory “power item” in their audio portable department..but Bose will never fail to keep its reputation, so as long one can really understand its product and appreciate it for what its purpose is and what it does. Best of luck...

The main point that I bought Bose Soundwear to use for long conference calls and I very pleased with this product. I work from home and often I had to participate in long conference calls, where I have to be on phone. My Apple Airpods would last me less then 1.5 h and I have to swap them one by one to charge. With Bose Soundwear no problems, the battery last at least full 5 hours. Bose Soundwear very light on my shoulder and controls all the buttons are very easy. The only part that I wish that Bose had implemented either wireless charging or at least USB-C

This shoulder speakers are great. You can hear AND feel the bass and it's Amazing. I own the LG version of this personal speaker but sound quality is way of a distance. Although if Bose had the same retractable buds as the LG it definitely had been my first choice since they came out of the market almost the same time. I wear this all day at work because I'm so tired of wearing headsets and earbuds. I admit on warm days they can uncomfortable too, but which doesn't? Will I recommend it? Definitely! In fact a couple of my coworkers got theirs already.

I purchased two of these..one for my father and one for me. We both use it almost daily. I use it most in the office and most people have taken time to notice that anything is around my neck. I keep the volume low as to not bother others and I am comfortable with the lower volume sound. I later take them to the gym and I put the volume up in these with no problem. I find that the sound at the gym blends with the other sounds plus everyone has headphones on so I dont feel like I'm bothering anyone. I place a gym towel around my neck and place the bose in that gym towel around my neck. Fits perfect. These are great and I got them on sale for 150 each a couple of weeks back. Gotta stay on your toes with this expensive ish..

We are longtime Bose loyalists and this speaker is the best for the 420 movement, it has my seal of approval. The more you consume either smoked or eaten, you will get lost listening to these speakers. I can hook these to music, indulge in a pipe and my chores will go by so much easier. The prices vary but if your a cannabis lover these are a high quality, nice bass and really surrounds great. Yes, people can hear muffled music they are easy to turn down or off and I like that it connects to Siri easily. 5 stars but it has a minor connection issue that happens occasionally, I learned to work around it. I like this speaker and a little smoke, great combo

I have tried the newer competing products (Sony) and do admit that they have added some nice features. This is still my favorite, daily use wireless speaker. Which is the reason for the strong review. I use it often, it has held up much better than I expected at the time of purchase. The ability to change out covers was a genius idea. I'll be the first to admit that Bose finds itself overhyped, but not with this product. The sound is exceptional.

I decided to purchase this Bose unit when the price dropped to $150.00. I use it around the house when my wife doesn’t want to hear music blaring through Alexa. I also love it when I’m walking the dog. This way there’s nothing stuck in my ear and I can be aware of my surroundings. It can also be used as a Bluetooth device. I use while making phone calls when driving. It works very well and people on the other end say they can hear me clearly. I really enjoy the Soundwear, I think you would too.

I'm always excited to try new Bose products, especially when they go on sale as was the case with the Soundwear. Very comfortable, music is clear and you don't have anything in your ears. The problem I have is just the use cases for it. It's not for everyone, are you really going to be walking around listening to music that everyone else can hear, Or your phone conversations? I couldn't justify keeping it but if you have you can go for it, it is great product otherwise.
