overall a very good sub...power is great and has tight accurate bass

Added this item to complete my sound system. After watching the first couple of movies my daughter kept asking if it was about to rain outside? I said no just the new subwoofer that we bought.

well to begin i would like to thank best buy for the service they gave me when i was there. i got this sub as a second sub to go with my 500 w b&w sub and the bass i get from the 2 subs are awesome and with the cm9 i have cant beat b&w sound

The subwoofer I bought that matched the speakers didn't provide enough low end for my taste. After adding this subwoofer, as the primary, it sounds near perfect!

unit sounds great so far.. added it my system to match the speakers I updated at Xmas… Love the quality of the B&W products so far… first time user of this brand.. I hope they last long enough to cover the higher price they cost...

This woofer is just what I was looking for. Expensive but worth it. It really enhanced the surround sound system. Get one!

I replaced a boston acoustic sub and am very pleased

I have a large room 25x20x18 ceiling... so I wasn't really holding my breath when I took this sub home but was hoping a bit that maybe I'll be surprised. I bought it along w/685 mains and 681 center to match. However, while the 685s and 681 proved excellent the little 10" sealed sub w/200w amp just didn't even make a dent... it was pretty much useless. Again... for my room size I need a much larger woofer. I have one, but was planning to replace it because its old and the box is coming apart - its the by now ancient DefTech PF15TL PLUS. But... it still just crushed the little B&W sub which sounded just embarrassing in comparison. For the price of $650 this sub just doesn't make sense to me... I paid less than that if I recall for the DefTech.

I spent way too much time doing research on a subwoofer. I went to all the AV forums, several trips to Best Buy and Fry's to listen to different models, etc. I'm not an audiophile so I can't discern between the ultra-nuances of certain audio products but I can tell the difference between crisp and muffled, loud and soft, booms and rattles. I had narrowed my decision to 3 subs based on my room size, receiver, and others and then did something crazy. I went into Best Buy and listened again. This time there was a B&W AWS608 off ot the side not even plugged in. I had not heard B&W except for some headphones I really liked. The salesperson pulled the plug on a Supercube 2000 and plugged in the B&W AWS608. It was poor compared to everything else. It sounded okay but had little volume. The Supercube sounded better. That's when I lost all sense of logic. The Magnolia rep said they had the next model B&W up, the 10" AWS-610. I never got to hear it before I brought it home. All that research out the window. However, I have never looked back. I have a large living room with stone floors, cathedral ceilings and opening into the entry way and the kitchen. Yet this thing is amazing. It makes my Definitive pro1000 look like a toy. I have it turned up 1/3 and it's booming and crisp. The forums have little info on this series and it's hard to compare vendor pricing because fewer vendors carry this.
