High quality, good value, solid sound experience
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.. Summary: Pro: Delivers great theater experience with innovative sound technology at a reasonable price. Con: Needs to be hard wired in and does not self-tune. Requires effort on your part to get the best sound out. I installed the B&W center channel speaker along with the matching Bowers & Wilkins - 603 Anniversary Floor Speakers as an upgrade to my home theater experience. I recently got a 77 inch LG OLED screen and my existing $2K Sonos system (playbar, sub, matching 3’s) was okay, certainly fulfilled on the ‘easy to install’ promise, but sound wise just not doing justice to my new movie experience. Sound wise it is hard to beat a good hard-wired system, and certainly the Bowes &Wilkins 600 Series Anniversary Edition 2-way Center Channel absolutely stomped the Sonos to the ground. You buy a center channel speaker for dialog, and the B&W delivers words so crisp and clear, standing out from the background music tracks, that it makes it feel like the actors were right there in front of me. It was mind blowing how this one upgrade made such a huge difference to what already was a good system. The old speaker cliché is very true with this one, I literally heard things I had not heard before. I stopped pausing and rewinding, “what did he say?” I got it the first time with the B&W. Likewise, the center channel speaker supports acoustic sound tracks well. It gets out of the way when appropriate, flavors when it has something to add. I admit I was concerned when I saw how simple and relatively compact the speaker appeared compared to the competition. Could this deliver the high volume I like? Turns out, speakers are for listening too, not looking at. Don’t get me wrong, this one is a handsome fashion statement, it just delivers a lot in a well-designed package. B&W has a well-earned 54 year reputation for delivering high end quality speakers. The 600 series is their entry level. And while many brands have in a grab for market share diluted their worth by cheapening their products and introducing flashy but worthless bells and whistles, B&W has continued to do research, continued to innovate. The 600 2nd anniversary series represent new materials, new concepts developed first for their higher end speakers. We all benefit from being the entry level series. Good value. That is not to say the B&W center channel speaker is for everyone. I am confident it is money well spent, but ONLY if you enjoy their neutral and crisp sound, and if you are willing to pay attention to placement. In these times many of us are used to a lot of heavy spicing to cover up bland meals, and base heavy speakers from the competition add ‘punch’ to cover up other faults. And then it is also true the same speaker will sound different in different rooms and even room placement. Sound is waves of air, and that is changed depending on what it is reflecting off of. Companies like Sonos try to address this by computationally acoustically sampling a room and adjusting the frequency response accordingly, and they do a great job of making their systems sound ‘normal’ in almost all environments. That costs money, and the more you put there, the less you put in your actual speakers. Great average performance, but not the tuned best. My recommendation is to be confident the B&W series 600 2nd anniversary center channel is good value, do go listen to it and make sure the clean crisp sound is for you. And then install it in your home and see if it still works for you. Yep this means more work from you, but in the end, it can result in a better listening experience. In my reviews I sometimes struggle with how many stars. Not this time, this was a solid 5. No question. I would give it more if I could.

Accuracy over loudness. Amazing sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TLDR review is: If you want the best sounding center speaker out there look no further. The build of this center speaker is really amazing. They cut no corners here with it. And not just the design, but the heft lets you know its a solid build with an excellent mid bass speakers. I really love the silver and black combo and it fits right in with the bookshelf speakers that I also have. Once everything was installed and ready to go you finally get to see (hear) why Bowers has the reputation for some of the best audio out there. As said before I am not an audiophile but I have a good ear for quality over quantity (volume). And although I did got through a phase where I was a kid where it was all about BASS!! Once I got over that I started to much more prefer great sound over just pure volume. And of course this is much more important with watching movies vs. music. And the Bowers speakers do not disappoint. Combined with the bookshelf speakers you are getting the best audio you can get vs. the theater. And since they are all currently closed that makes the Bowers speakers even more of an experience. But dont get me wrong. There is still plenty of bass for those that still want that “feeling” of the sound along with the sound itself. The bass and overall sound is so crisp being able to hear all the quieter sounds other systems, or your built in TV speakers just cant convey. Along with movies and music I am also a gamer and WOW the games sounds are awesome. To sum it all up if you are looking for some of the best audio out there I highly recommend the Bowers speakers. If you can get the bookshelf ones as well you in for even more of a treat. Stay safe at home and get close to the movie theater experience as you can.

One Beefy Center Channel!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is written in conjunction with and meant to compliment the Bowers and Wilkins Anniversary Edition Floorstanding Speakers. Completing the Bowers and Wilkins Anniversary edition setup is not complete with out upgrading your center channel speaker to fully compliment the rest of the speakers in your home theater or listening room. This center channel is no slouch. By size or by quality and power. Unboxing, is much like the floorstanding speaker counterparts. It is very well packaged and very secure. There is no base to attach like the tower speakers. It also includes a magnetic speaker grill cover and is easy to take off or put on if you wish to show the individual speakers off. This center channel is a big one! It is pretty deep and moderately wide, so make sure you have some good space to mount it or set it somewhere in your setup. There are also caps on the ends of the jacks that need to be popped off if you plan to use banana plugs (I recommend). As with the tower speakers, the build quality on this center channel is excellent and its weight is a compliment to that. The audio quality is absolutely amazing. I had to listen several times to music and movies I have been watching because I am able to hear sounds so crisp and clean that I never remember hearing on my lower end systems. This center channel and my B&W tower speakers are able to handle almost all the power my receiver is able to dish out on volume before distorting out. Being mated to a higher end receiver with enough RMS Wattage is important to achieving those results though. I love this center channel speaker and like the towers, they are discreet and basic looking, but that is not why you are buying them. They are not very flashy but very easy to compliment a room with out the speakers feeling overburdening. Overall this center channel speaker is a must have, whether going with the full B&W Anniversary Edition or not. An excellent build quality and intense sound performance make this center channel speaker a hard one to beat. As with the floorstanding speakers, I would just recommend to Bowers and Wilkins to use a bit stronger magnets for the speaker grill cover as it is easy to knock off if bumped accidentally.

Fantastic performance and clean dialog.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Many people complain about the muffled sound from their tv shows or movies, then go and get a regular soundbar, which just makes the muffled audio louder. Those little 2" speakers aren't able to deliver the rich, theater sound you are expecting. Enter Bowers & Wilkens' Anniversary series center channel. This has crystal clear reproduction of all the dialog and a wide frequency range to handle effects as well. For years, I was using an simple single driver bookshelf speaker for my center channel, and heavily relied on subtitles to follow conversations. With this speaker, dialog is so clean I haven't needed subtitles to watch movies at all. Female and children voices don't get tinny and washed out, and male voices are rich and deep. This center channel sounds as good as one that costs $2k. This pairs nicely with the 603 tower speakers. I set all the speakers to "Large" in the receiver's setup and they sound rich and dynamic, with no muffling or frequency cutoff. With action movies like John Wick or Lord of the Rings battle scenes, the center channel really fills in the middle of the soundstage and allows you to pan your head left to right and get a smooth, accurate representation of the on screen action. It's a well built, well engineered speaker. Size-wise, it's a good fit for most cabinets or tv stands. Best to have it line up with your ear level, if possible. Hook up to a good receiver and you have crystal clear audio for many years made by one of the best speaker companies available.

Fantastic Sound and Build Quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: * Amazing sound and clarity. * Solid build quality. * Unassuming design fits anywhere. Cons: * Magnetic speaker grill is not very secure or fancy. * Provided simple rubber feet are not what one would expect for such a high-end speaker. Summary: I am not an audiophile and won’t get into frequency response, ability to tune the speaker to a room or any of the technical details that other reviewers will probably be much more competent to talk about. I have it connected to a Denon AVR-X5300H home theater receiver with Martin Logan mains and surrounds. Center channel audio sounded fantastic for everything that I threw at it; from Dolby Atoms UHD movies to just plain old streaming TV through my home theater… all sounded great! As you can see from the main product photos, this is basically just black wooden box with a cloth speaker griller that magnetically attaches to the front. The speaker grille does its job; it stays put unless bumped and is sonically transparent. This speaker is not a statement in visual design - it mostly just blends into the background and makes great center channel audio. What more could you want? One of the few things that surprised me is that the box came with tiny clear rubber sticker feet if you want to use them. At this price and performance level, I might expect something a bit more robust or impressive, but they worked. You can put them anywhere on any side that fits the desired placement in your home so that was nice. Some speakers are also a visual design statement and this are not that. But if you want great center channel audio for just about any source or genre, this speaker sounds awesome.

Great center speaker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great center speaker for mid to high end surround systems. Especially good when paired with the B&W anniversary 600 tower speakers. They really complement each other in a surround setup and make movies sound great (music too). I had to crank it up a bit to really appreciate it but once it breaks in more it may not need it so much. Great mids and highs, good bass for a center channel speaker. I didn't really appreciate a good center speaker till I got this one. If you have a decent surround system you will likely love this center speaker. If you are looking at B&W speakers get this one too as it is a great match. You can get great dialogue and sound from your movies or music. I also have an sacd player and several sacd's and this speaker is the best center I've heard with them as well.

I can't believe what I've been missing
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll admit it right now. I'm no audiophile. Far from it. I've got pretty severe hearing loss in one ear and moderate in the other. I guess all those years of heavy metal concerts or listening with headphones with volume set at 10 took it's toll. So I really never cared too much for my audio equipment. Don't get me wrong, I had decent enough stuff for my purpose. Not low end but somewhere between low and middle. While friends and full blown systems with reel to reel decks I was happy with my cheap Fisher component system that I got at a local department store with cassette deck. Recently I was given the opportunity to receive a set of Bower and Wilkins Series 600 Aniversary Edition speakers and matching center channel. I ran down to my local Best Buy and walked into the Magnolia room while waiting for my shipment to arrive. If you haven't visited a Magnolia Room I highly recommend it so you can listen to all brands and models of the higher end componets and speakers before you buy. I dialed in the Series 600 speakers and center channel and then started playing with surround sound satellite speakers. After listening to everything working together I settled on a pair of Bower and Wilkins 4" satellite speakers. I also stepped up my game a bit with a new Denon AVR750. Not high end receiver but the speakers deserved more respect than the receiver I had in my cabinet and it was on sale. After connecting everything and running the receiver channel tuning app I sat down to see what all the fuss is about for Bowers and Wilkins speakers. The house was quiet on a Saturday morning so I put Supertramp's "Even in the Quietest Moments" on the turntable and sat dead center between all of the speakers, turned the volume to half and I wasn't prepared for what I was hearing. I was immediately blown away. My goodness... is this what I've been missing? The highs and lows were crisp and clean. Then I started wondering what else I've been missing so I spent the whole day going through my vinyl collection and playing some Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon", YES "Close to the Edge" and "Tales of a Topographical Ocean", Rush "2112" and yes I even threw on some Metallica "Black Album" of course. Oh my... I was blown away. Turns out I've been missing a lot and didn't realize it. I'm totally amazed of the sound. I have a pretty eclectic taste in music and I'm going to have to go through my whole library to see what else I've been missing all these years. In fact I've been grabbing some vinyl to round out my collection now I have a greater appreciation of what the musicians and engineers made of that bag full of sounds.... amazing music!!!! Yeah, they are pricey and usually out of my price range. Grab a set of these and they should last you a lifetime! You won't be sorry!!!

Great paired with the bookshelf speakers
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am in love with these speakers, below is my review on the bookshelf speakers that match with this center. These combined sound great and have a awesome minimalists look without sacrificing any sound. I'm blown away by these compact speakers. I've always been a big tower speaker kind of listener. The clarity and crispness of these are pretty amazing! I have grown to the minimalist look and ordered stands for these to permanently replace my big towers. I have yet to try them without the sub but I can tell they definitely do not have the punch of big towers. I like the look of the speaker and run them without the grilles. They look great!

Great for Music and Movies
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Any center channel I have needs to be as good with music as it is with movies. I have a lot of DVD-Audio and SACD discs, and I enjoy listening to the surround mixes this media provides. The HTM6 S2 Anniversary Edition improves on the S1 by upgrading the crossover and tweeter. I have the S1 version of this speaker, and to be honest, it sounds amazing. The S2 does add additional clarity to voices, however, and makes the treble even sweeter and more defined than the previous edition. Hotel California (DVD-Audio, 5.1, 24/96) via my Sony UBP-X800 and Denon AVR-X4700h sounds amazing, with the initial minute or so of the guitar solo being played through the center channel before expanding out towards the other speakers. The HTM6 Series 2 also sounded great with Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon (SACD 5.1 mix). The Great Gig in the Sky, a track off of this album, places Clare Terry’s voice smack dab in the center channel, and on lesser centers her voice can be screechy and hurtful. The presentation on the HTM6 Series 2 Anniversary Edition center channel was impeccable, with the music mix coming in solidly behind her never-harsh vocals. Moving on to movies, I played the Fellowship of the Ring. The opening sequence of this movie is a great referendum on how good the center channel speaker is. First, it starts off with Galadriel’s voice talking about the rings but then moves into the epic fight scene between men, elves, orcs, and Sauron. There is a scene where an orc, dead-centered on the screen, does a freaky growl that the HTM6 S2 just makes explode out of the screen. I’ve heard this opening sequence on a ton of different center channels, and the HTM6 S2 really stands head and shoulders above the other speakers for its clarity, definition, and impact. Voices are done well. We’ve been watching the X-Files for the last couple of weeks, and the HTM6 S2 does a great job of portraying Moulder’s sultry, morose voice and Dana’s sometimes annoying one. Dialogue is always crystal clear. I like the HTM6 S2. It’s advantages over the S1 is enhanced clarity, less midrange congestion, and it sounds even better with music. Highly recommended.

No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from Bowers & Wilkins Team
Posted .We have two measurements that we publish. Frequency range and Frequency response. Frequency range simulates in-room performance with typical acoustic reinforcement that you can expect to experience from room surfaces. Frequency response is a quasi-anechoic measurement taken in a space with no boundary reinforcement. The later measurement does not describe in-room response because your room has boundaries while an anechoic space does not. We used the Frequency Range specification (-6dB at 42Hz and 33kHz) because it more closely matches what most people experience in their living spaces. With all of that said, actual response in your room is dictated by room acoustics.

Very Nice Speaker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bowers & Wilkins HTM6 S2 Anniversary Edition is a great sounding, nice looking center speaker that has excellent range, and smooth, detailed sound. The speaker arrived packaged in a sturdy cardboard box, with the speaker well-protected for shipping. In the box were multilingual instructions, 3M branded feet to protect the speaker and the surface on which it rests, and a foam plug for tuning the bass response of the speaker. While watching TV shows and movies, this speaker did an excellent job of carrying the dialogue. Voices sounded rich, full, and real. Sounds like glass breaking sounded so real, you would find yourself bracing. Paired with the Bowers & Wilkins 606 S2 Anniversary Edition bookshelf speakers, this speaker helps create a beautiful front sound field in which sounds seem to flow seamlessly across the screen from left to right or right to left. My only complaint is the 87 dB sensitivity. Many other speakers at this price point have much higher sensitivity. This simply means that you will have to push them a little harder to get the desired volume. Overall, this is a fantastic speaker, and I wouldn't hesitate to pair it with other B&W 600 series speakers to build a very nice sounding home theater system. Especially if I were doing so in a small room, dorm, or apartment.

Fantastic Speakers
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I initially requested these speakers I was beside myself, I had B&W speakers on my want list for some time and I finally got the chance to own them. Unfortunately the ‘rona delayed their delivery by four months but after hooking them up and breaking them in I’m thoroughly impressed. The style is simplistic and functional and I liked that the protective screens attach magnetically. Now for technical jargon...after getting them hooked up (Bookshelf was LF w/banana clips, Center was HF with banana clips...I did not Bi Wire them) I ran the speakers on medium to low volume for 2 weeks to give them a solid break in period before bring them online fully (ie loudness). I do consider myself tech savvy and a movie sound junkie. I take joy in finding the hidden sounds and the finely tuned/subtle things that make movies sound great...I mean who doesn’t listen for the Wilhelm every time they watch a movie?! For my sound/clarity tests I could think of no other film than the Empire Strikes Back on 4K (the greatest movie ever made). This film, like many of the greats, have excellent sound ranges. From the opening crawl, mighty Imperial March, the Battle of Hoth, animal sounds on Dagobah, Cloud City and the subsequent duel and escape along with a phenomenal score from the Master John Williams himself truly provides a solid test. I pushed 80% power to the speakers and was rewarded with clarity and loudness and that didn’t step on or overwhelm each other. The sound was balanced, I could pick up on nuances not previously heard and when I needed in your face sound...they delivered on an impressive scale. I pushed a few choice scenes to 90% power and was just blown away. The Scimitar class assault bombers screaming over the asteroid field, Boba Fett blasting off the East Platform and the final portion of the duel between Luke and Vader. The speakers truly made these scenes pop and immersed you in lifelike sound making you feel like you were actually there. The speakers give you quality that will take your breath away and bring a tear to your eye. Make sure to hook up quality cables when using these speakers. Do not hook up Walmart cabling to these, spend the money and get some audio quest from Magnolia. If you run good equipment through bad cabling, you’ll get bad sound. Great center channel for medium rooms
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always been a big fan of speaker brands such as JBL and Infinity, these are speakers I feel do a great job with classic rock, which is my music of choice. I have also had an infinity center channel to handle my audio from my favorite films as well. The Best Buy Tech Insider network offered me a chance to review the B&W 600 series 2 center channel so I was excited to see how well my old center channel stacked up. I have never felt like my old speakers were missing anything, I was pretty happy with them, but I had not ventured out to other brands, so I really didn't know what I might be missing. Turns out I was missing quite a bit. The difference was obvious and in some ways significant Even though the 600 series is considered an entry level series from Bowers and Wilkins, the 600 series 2 offered a wider sound stage than the infinity I had used. The highs were much more vibrant and it seems like voices really stand out, where they appeared more muffled on my previous center channel. The B&W center channel, it turns out, is a true upgrade from what I have been using. For reference, I am matching this center channel with B&W 600 series 2 bookshelf speakers in a room that is 22x11 set up as an audio/video room. The whole system is powered by a Yamaha Aventage receiver and I am using a martin Logan sub to handle low frequency. I still like my Infinity setup, but they will now take second stage to the B&W in this particular room. If you have a small to medium size room, I think you should be happy with the 600 series 2 anniversary edition center channel speaker and the matching main and surround speakers that match up with it.

Sound as good as it looks
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This speaker really looks nice. The magnetic cover comes off easily to reveal a very clean looking speaker. It looks just as good in your living room as it does in a dedicated media room. With or without the cover, this is a speaker you'll want to show off. You'll want to show off how it looks as much as how it sounds. And the sound is excellent. It's everything you'd expect from a Bowers & Wilkins speaker. I replaced my Klipsch speakers with this, and while KIipsch speaker sounded excellent, this speaker is just better. The full range of this speaker is top quality. The clarity of spoken words is super clear as well as the nuances of fingers running across the frets of a guitar as well as glass breaking in a movie scene are heard as they were meant to be heard. This speaker, along with a pair of the 3-way floor standing speakers, which I got as well, and a nice sub (I've got a Klipsch 10" and 12) make for an excellent sound system for both enjoying music, and adding a couple of rear surround speakers, for enjoying movies at home with realistic audio quality. I'm running mine in a bi-amp configuration, which I'd recommend for greater audio quality. If you're going to spend this much money on good quality speakers, do yourself a favor and run them with sufficient power. They definitely aren't cheap, but if your considering a set of B&W Speakers, you probably already know that you're going to get what you pay for, so make sure you use good quality, high guage speaker wire and drive them with a good quality amplifier and you'll be happy with them for years to come. The build quality is excellent as well, so these are the kind of equipment you can pass down to your kids some day, if you ever decide to part with them.

A Wise Upgrade...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am an audiophile. I love music, I appreciate sound, I enjoy all the nuances. Yet, for some stupid reason I spent the last 20 yrs of my life with a sub-par center channel speaker. When I finally had the opportunity to upgrade, I chose the Bowers & Wilkins 600 Series (Anniversary Ed.) center speaker and was stunned at how badly my old center channel underperformed. Rather than bore you with the specs you have already read about or add tons of pictures of my home theater setup, I feel it is more important to talk about how this center channel integrates into the listening experience. I run a Sony STR-DN1080 to power my music and television experiences. Not quite willing to part with my nearly 30yr old JBL G500 tower speakers, I added the B&W 600 center to my Sony Atmos, JBL front/rear, and Sonance Sub setup. The first thing I noticed while watching TV was how much better the B&W center channel brought forward center channel sound. Dialog is tight and crisp, I don't have to crank the center to "11" (as I did with previous center speaker) to prevent it from being overpowered by the front speakers and sub. [Note: I did decide to plug the center speaker "bass" port with the included foam inserts only because I don't need more bass given my passive 8" speakers in the towers AND my sub.] While watching movies, again, this center speaker handles dialog well in action movies where effects can drown out dialog and dramas where dialog can be intentionally low for "mood." While listening to music, the jury is out as to how/if I will include the center channel in my experience. I liked how balanced everything was when allowing my STR-DN1080 to manage all speakers, but I think I still prefer good old-fashioned 2-channel audio especially when listening to 80s/90s era hip-hop or modern alternative (i.e. Twenty-One Pilots, Missio) but including the B&W center speaker helped make vocals in classic rock and grunge pop. Therefore, it should be noted that the B&W 600 enhances the rock and roll music listening experience in a well configured receiver/amplifier. [Also note: I own the B&W 600 anniversary bookshelf speakers and am strongly leaning toward configuring my system to use the B&W bookshelf + B&W center + Sony Atmos + Sonance Sub as the default for my TV experience given the audio is so tight and balanced...then relying on my towers for music--if only because I cannot emotionally part with my old speakers! Nonetheless, the B&W bookshelves with the center and a sub recreate a music experience equally as fresh and rich.] I know my picture shows me streaming music that is heavily compressed, but trust me, playing uncompressed music through these speakers is even more beautiful! As for everything else, B&W paid attention to details. Their speakers are beautiful. They include little rubber feet should you want to use them to hold the speaker in place on a shelf or entertainment center. The grills are held on with magnets. The two-tone black and silver finish with the grill off is very eye catching. The speaker is a bit big and like all good speakers, it is a bit heavy. If you are going to rely on a shelf or a stand, double-check your weight and size capacities. I had been a JBL, Infinity and Klipsch speaker person my whole life. I was skeptical B&W could match the performance and quality of those brands but I must admit, B&W deserves to hang out at the top with the big boys. If you have an ear for sound, you won't go wrong with the Bowers & Wilkins 600 (Anniversary) Series center channel speaker. Read the specs, look at the pictures, and know that B&W owners sing their praises for good reason.

Bowers and Wilkins HTM6
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HTM6 is a dedicated center channel speaker and is a perfect match to the 606 and 607 line of speakers. It's size has been reduced from previous versions so it makes it less obtrusive. The HTM6 mixes well with the 600 series with the use of the same tweeters and drivers. The ideal system would be the 603's for the front and the HTM6 center with the 606 or 607's as the surround. The 606 or 607 series could also be used for the front to save a bit of cash. The HTM6 center speaker is a 2-way vented box system with a frequency response of 72Hz - 28kHz and a sensitivity of 87dB. Weight is 17 lbs. with with same fit and finish as the 603, 606 and 607. Another well made speaker from Bowers & Wilkins and the HTM6 does not disappoint. Paired with the 606 or 607, you can't go wrong.

Pair perfectly with B&W 606's
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HTM6 is a perfect complement to B&W 606 S2 stand-mount speakers. The mids and highs are crystal clear without being harsh, and the tonal match with the 606's is spot-on. The HTM6 can also play loudly enough to easily keep up with the rest of the system. Cosmetically, with the grilles attached this looks pretty much like a plain black box and it's very unobtrusive. With the grilles off, the Continuum mid-bass drivers are much shinier and silver-looking than the photos suggest. The tweeter surround and cover look very nice. Overall, if you have other recent B&W speakers in your home theater system this unit would be a great fit and it sounds fantastic.

Vast improvement
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced the center channel in my home theater system with this B&W center channel speaker. Wow! What a difference. The old center channel was an inexpensive Insignia speaker - I had read that the quality of the center channel wasn't all that important so I went cheap with the Insignia. These B&W Anniversary Edition Center Channel speakers put that idea to bed with an exclamation point. Dialog is much clearer and the soundstage is wider because of this upgrade. I couldn't be happier

Great Center Channel
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My home theater has been through several different configurations throughout the years. I recently added the HTM6 S2 as well as a pair of B&W 603 S2 Anniversary Editions. One of the things I love about Bowers and Wilkins is how the technology developed for their higher end speakers to trickles down to the lower ranges. Buyers of the 600 series speakers are getting the same technology and components that are used in speakers costing several times more. I played the speakers at moderate levels for a few days prior to running MCACC on my Pioneer Elite AVR. I'm not sure how much break-in changes speaker performance, but I'll play along. First, this is a large center channel. The good side of that is it allows for lower male voices to be heard easily without getting lost. The downside is it might not fit with a TV on a stand so be sure to measure or have a plan to raise your TV if needed. B&W is using dual 5" internally developed Continuum drivers as well as their decoupled tweeter found in the other 600-series speakers. The blend between the HTM6 and 603s is perfect and I assume would be the case for any of the 600-series speakers. As I posted in my review of the 603 S2s, the HTM6 S2 sounds very natural to me. Nothing feels harsh or tiring to listen to. I feel the sound is very clear without being "too much" that can be experienced with metal dome tweeters. I think it's important to match your center channel to your main speakers as different speaker manufacturers can have their own sound. If you're buying any of the B&W 600 speakers for your mains, there's no reason to not get the HTM6 S2.

Bowers & Wilkins -600 Series Anniv 2-Way Center
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Two weeks in and I am going to be able to enjoy this for many years to come. Build quality of the cabinet is the best quality. The sound from the center speaker is amazing to say the least and the voice is so much clearer from the voices of the characters. I am using this with the tower speakers and it fills my theatre room with great rich sound. Look forward to many years of use and enjoyment.
