I'll start with the good.
-Easy to assemble
-Decent price
-Gives a good workout as promised
The bad
-Awkward position when trying to get intense and grab upper grips
-Different squeaks and clanks that seem to be common after you start looking it up. Luckily they are easy fixes.
-Andoid screen but only works with apple fit app for some reason
-Can't connect to other devices with bluetooth. Even other Android powered ones.
-Can't link any type of other streaming or video apps like many other workout machines.
-Music selection in app isnt great or wide which would be easier to deal with if you could connect via bluetooth with another device but you cant.

The big sell for this model seems to be the adaptive workouts provided by the JRNY app.
Note: Since the mobile app doesn't sync with this model all workouts must be done through the attached display. More on this below
The pros:
The adaptive workout prompted workouts are fun and challenging
First the bad:
* You still have to manually adjust the resistance during adaptive workouts. The pretty red dial is just for aesthetics
* if you use Apple Health you must have the mobile app open and logged in on your mobile device to sync with Health.
* The JRNY mobile app overwrites its Workout history, only one workout will ever show up in Health. Thankfully, it does save exercise minutes and move calories.
* You can't track a mixed cardio workout using JRNY. If you start a manual workout on JRNY and then switch to any other workout app in between, JRNY stops counting exercise minutes when the other app saves its info.
All in all the workouts you get from Bowflex are great, the app tech is just meh. IMO the less fancy model is a better buy as workouts aren't tied to the buggy app you get more flexibility

Good exercise equipment… Terrible software

I bought mine a year ago and am delighted with the workout and apparent durability, but the software is a nuisance. It requires Internet to operate and the software is intrusive. I want to exercise when I climb on but end up wasting time with the endless screen touches necessary to get started. The software has an amateurish feel and is unresponsive and buggy. I would only recommend purchase if they’ve substantially improve the software. Which begs the question… Why is software an issue with exercise equipment?
