I bought this because I left my last magnet car mount in a rental car. This one is ok. I like the design, but I find that it falls down more than my previous one.

The item does what is advertise for, the issue I have was that the clip is too close to a lip on my vent and my phone doesn't attach to the magnet. The second thing is the plastic suction part doesn't adhere to my car and my phone (note9) is too heavy which ends up taking the whole thing off my car. I honestly toss it away in a small rage because I can't find one that works for me.

This holder does work. It has a very large footprint on the dash. It is very limited in adjust-ability once installed. Installation is permanent providing a constant visual indicator of presence of potential electronice in the locked vehicle. Size make location difficult due to line of sight issues.

Over all great. Small, can fit most places. Wish the magnet was a bit stronger. Easily knock it off with my leg.

The magnet for the back of the phone works well and has a good hold to the unit. Im guessing the heat makes the unit fall apart, but it never stayed together so I ended up super gluing it.

Ok so I'm not having much luck with nice phone mounts. For some very unintelligent reason, this company decided to make the mount two piece. So the magnet mounted fine to the base, and the other side on the phone. Phone works awesome going on and off the base perfectly. Til a day or two after mounting it, the magnet separated from the suction cup. Getting tired of poor quality mounts. Gonna likely either drive a screw thru it or epoxy it together. Gonna recommend a different mount sadly.

I couldn't get the base to stick on top of my dash board, so I place it in the air vent. This is ok, though. I like the look of it and it definitely makes abiding by the new Hands Free law easy. I can adjust the position and move from front vent to side vent.

The part that holds the magnet that attaches to your phone is way to flimsy for the hold that the magnet has.

I loved this while it stayed on my dash - compact and unobtrusive. Unfortunately, it didn't hold for more than 6 months, and when it disengaged it broke into pieces.

I would give it a 5 star but the magnet you put on the back of your phone had already become loose now the phone sits horizontally when attached.

The Best Buy associate was helpful installing the magnet to the holder. The holder looks like it will stick to any surface, but unfortunately when we tried on the dashboard to my wife’s car, it did not work well. It was an open-box item, so now I am wondering if there was anything missing.

I have tried multiple ways to mount my phone in the car. I use my phone frequently for directions as a homecare nurse. This car mount was extremely easy to install and I’ve had no troubles with it staying exactly where I put it. Previous vent mounts I’ve used often moved or didn’t stay in, also caused my phone to overheat. This mount is extremely sturdy and easy to install.

A Best Buy employee recommended this to me so I took his word. I wanted magnetic phone holder for my car. I loved that the magnet also had a built in ring to help me hold the phone... but after a couple weeks that began to spin and so did my phone when I’d mount it to the holder. I properly installed the mount and it wouldn’t stay stuck to my dashboard and my phone would fall with any moderate bump I’d hit. Ended up going with Nite Ize Steelie instead and I love that so much more. Don’t waste your money

After staring at the nearly overwhelming selection of phone holders on the shelf in the store, I needed a way to choose between them all. I decided to use "you get what you pay for" as the determiner of which unit to purchase. This was one of the most expensive phone holders and apparently came with a few extra goodies to boot. Unfortunately, this has been disappointing from the get go. First off, the instructions were confusing, not clear, and not very helpful. I decided to start with the included alternative phone magnet that had the "finger holder"/"prop up stand". It only props up in landscape mode, but the only time I need the phone propped up is in portrait mode. Turns out the ring around that magnet spins, but you don't find out about that until a few days later once it is nice and broken in. And the way you find that out is when you have it stuck onto the dash mount and it starts turning and will no longer remain upright in the car. Finally, removed that magnet and used the "original" magnet, which is better, but doesn't seem to be strong enough for all the bumps you might encounter on the road. It has fallen off at least 5 times in the 2 weeks I've had it. As far as I can tell, you can only use this in one vehicle, so keep that in mind if you share multiple vehicles. It comes with an additional stand that attaches to a vent, but it is pretty small. The phone and magnet are pretty heavy comparatively, so I can't imagine it will stay in the vent any better than the dash mount. Lastly, if you need to charge your phone while it is attached to the mount, you have to either have a cable that is bent 90-degrees at the end or you have to tilt the dash magnet back far enough for your cable to not bump into the dash. But then it is hard to see the screen at that angle. The components don't feel cheaply made, but for $40+, I expected this to be the creme-de-la-creme of phone holders for the car. Either they just don't make any that work without a hitch or buy one for half price (or less) and deal with the same problems.

Depending on what kind of case that you are using, you may need to place the metal plate on the outside of your phone case. The vent mount features a rubberized bracket that allows it to stay attached to the vent, even with larger phones. For best use, we recommend letting the mount sit up to 12 hours before use. This will allow the 3M adhesive to create a strong hold. Please feel free to contact [email protected], one of our representatives would be happy to help you.

Product was doing well for a few days, the adhesive for the magnet fell of my phone so I had to tape it to my case. The magnet is strong itself. The mount it okay. If you have grooves on you dash it won't work as well. The vent mount isn't perfect and it can sometimes tilt to one side when taking sharper turns. I think the phone mount can work with smaller and lighter phones, but if you own a larger phone I would get a different mount.
