Fair warning: this game definitely earns its Mature rating. Be advised. I love Guillermo del Toro, his movies, and when I saw the trailer for the game I was IMMEDIATELY pulled into the fairytale world of Bramble: The Mountain King. I usually hate scary games, and avoid them like the plague, but I can do scary movies. I gave Bramble a chance, and I'm so happy I did. It plays a like a story being told, but we're active participants in the whole process from start to finish. The artwork is gorgeous. For a studio I've never heard before, the graphics are good as well (playing on PS5). No glitches, no problems, which seems to be rare these days, especially with AAA or AA games. The music... enchanting, haunting, ephemeral. I collect vinyl, and I would consider getting this on vinyl but the scary tracks would definitely throw me off from getting it. The last song for the final sequence is so good, really immerses you in the moment. Kudos to the composer. Gameplay is fun, intuitive, nothing too crazy. I never felt like I had to try too hard, and the checkpoint system is forgiving. The story is pretty linear, involving small side quests/puzzles that progress the story but not deviate from the theme at all. The boss fights are all fun, and even my casual-gamer self did decently well. The game takes about 5-6 hours to beat. Took me about 2 hours on my second run for the platinum trophy. I intend to lend the game to at least two friends of mine that would otherwise never go anywhere near a horror game.

Bramble is a beautiful game, but will haunt you afterwards. The folktales used to create this story are not for the faint of heart. Don't pass this game up, its much better than most $70 games they are churning out nowadays.

this is such a good game! it's a bit of creepy folklore, and overall made really well! dont sleep on this,especially since this is a physical copy!

Bramble looks like a simple tale out of any of your childhood literature. It reminded me a lot of Hansel and Grettle and I mean that in the best way possible. It has a great pace with puzzles and fable like story telling that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It looks like a child’s game, but beware, it can get really rough and grimy at times and that’s why this one is an instant classic. Imagine the little nightmares or limbo in a fairytale storybook format. Well done.

This game came out of nowhere and i can say i was so pleasantly surprised! The mood and atmosphere is so good. Its based on nordic folk tales and it will make your skin crawl at times and warm your heart at others. Its very short too. Can finish it in a weekend easily

I been waiting for this game to come in physical edition. Well made game. More scary than I expected. Amazing story. Highly recommended if you are into games like Little Nightmares, etc.

A dark adventure, with an interesting story. The presentation is top notch and the game is overall just fun to play through. Well worth picking up.
