So far I have had this product for almost a month. Pros and cons. Pros: It holds a charge very well. I never have to clean it often or use the included cleaning solution. The blade is recomended to be replaced in about 18 months from first use. It helps me shave much faster than normal. Aesthetically it is very appealing and comes with a convienient travel pouch for the shaver. Cons: it dont shave over bumps very well and may scar you if you are not careful over pimples. The whole cleaning contraption is useless to me. If I need to clean it I just pop off the shaver head and rinse it under water and let dry before using again. Yes it is expensive but you get what you pay for in this case.

Have had Braun's in the past and always migrated back to a rotary shaver. Well that chapter in my life is over! I'm a happy owner of the best shaver I've ever had. Great system, great shave, the closest shave I've had. Will be happy to recommend to all!!!!

Great electric shaver. Has a 180° pivot head that u can also lock into a fixed position. After a week I can admit it doesn't get every single hair. Lol it always seems to leave the curly gray ones. However, it clears about 95% on the sides of my face and cheek/chin area. It clears about 85% of the mustache area and about 75% on the neck. It does leave a nice manly finish. Not quite as clean as a baby's butt but ideal to get the job done efficiently. Ideally, you use this everyday to shave the stubble so the hairs don't get too long. When you release the head to brush out the debris, it is almost dust matter or powdered confetti. The lcd meter shows battery power and hygiene level. The first time I used the shaver, I used it to clean a lot of my longer hairs and I also tested the built-in trimmer. It immediately went to 2 bars of hygiene remaining (out of 5 being perfect). When I placed shaver in the self-cleaning reservoir, it took about 15 mins and seemed to run about 15 clean cycles(also loud as heck!). I let it dry overnight and come to realize it sterilized and also left the best smelling lemon sweet scent on the shaver. I still try to use the shaver couple times a day and brush clean the debris out following usage. I avoid using the trimmer cuz it just accumulated too much hair and mess and I'm worried the excessive cleaning cycles will deplete the alcohol cleaning solution too rapidly. I normally shave a couple times per day, brush out after each or every other, and every couple days place in the self-cleaner after losing one or two hygiene bars. The zip up holster for the shaver is also quite handy as I carry it on the go sometimes and shave while stuck in heavy traffic it makes a nice case to keep it in while storing or after cleaning so it will dry. It has a mesh net portion that allows air in and out to assist drying out thoroughly. I still use the manual razor every few days to clear that 10-20% hair growth that somehow sneaks past the cut. But overall the shaver provides a pain-free, hassle-free option for me shaving on the go or in the home. I keep a beard and stash but am tempted to say goodbye to them with trimmer and just keep the resulting slight shadow finish.

As a guy with thick facial hair I have never found an electric razor that gave me a decent shave. Had to rely on non electric razors for years which caused ingrown hairs which for those who experience this know can be annoying. Decided to research electrics and found this razor in numerous reviews including Best Buy. A few weeks in and I am extremely impressed at the closeness this shaver provides. It's very VERY close to a regular razor but not close enough to cause any ingrowns. I am now a Braun man because of this and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a close shave and don't believe an electric can provide one. Yes it's pricey but like they say you get what you pay for and this is quality and consistency all around. As for the cleaner, definitely a nice feature but I honestly believe a little alcohol and hot water may give the same results. The cleaner simply saves me a few minutes when I need to clean it as I just place it in the base, hit the button and walk away. It is noises during the cleaning process but not that bad. The razor is what matter and the razor I will recommend highly.

I purchased this for my husband to replace a Braun razor that was more than 10 years old. He loves this new razor. It gives a really close shave, holds a charge well and is quiet. It is also a good bit lighter for travelling. His only complaint is that the sideburn trimmer is a bit awkward to use.

The best part about this shaver, apart from the very smooth shave, is its cleaning system. I just have to plug the shaver into the cleaning dock and voila, it clean as a whistle. The shave, is as smooth as an actual blade. Which really surprised me since the previous shavers I have used haven't been anywhere near as efficient. It takes about 5 - 8 min to get through the shave which is great if you are in a hurry for office or a party. I have cleaned the shaver at least 5 or 6 times over the past 1.5 months and the liquid is still on the highest marker. So basically this is an excellent buy.

Initial impression is that it is well built. Glides over skin smoothly. Close shave. Cleaning base ensures a clean shaver for every use. Relatively quiet. Expensive, but worth the cost so long as it provides me a few years of use (just purchased.)

I purchased this razor after reading many reviews on multiple sites. All I can say is that I am extremely pleased. It shaves very close very quickly including neck hair which is always the hardest for me. The best part is that the cleaning system guarantees you always have a super clean-great smelling razor. The cleaning fluid includes a lubricant and is not very expensive. I clean after every use and the level has not gone down one notch in over 3 weeks. I purchased two spare cartridges but haven't needed yet. Well worth the money. I had always purchased Norelco razors before but they always took longer and didn't do as good a job. Only negative is the one that comes with cleaning station can not be used in the shower. However, the benefit is I use a lot less hot water so not all bad. :)

This was my first test/use of an electric shaver. I chose the Braun as it had some of the best reviews on Consumer Reports and Best Buy. The shaver is easy to use, and keeping it clean seems easy with the autoclean indicators. So far I've used for a few weeks daily without having to replace any of the cleaning fluid. You do need to warn anyone else in the room that you are cleaning your shaver as it is fairly noisy as if someone left it running. As for closeness of shave it does OK but definitely not the same as shaving with a razor and cream. I would need to shave twice a day to end up at the same level of 5 o'clock shadow as a regular razor. It's been humid lately and that also affects the closeness of the shave- the drier your skin the better! Next I'll try the electric shave wash for your face pre shave.

I have been using this for at least a month, and it is fantastic. works absolutely great, smooth, relatively quiet from what these things were 10 years ago (it is what i replaced). I have relatively sensitive skin, where if i use a Mach 3 or something, I can only use downstrokes or it kills my face, so in comparison to that... this device shaves me closer than downstrokes with a Mach 3. And this pleases me greatly. I would DEFINATELY get this product again, and I would recommend to anyone I meet if they are willing to put out the cash.

This is another excellent Braun shaving device. It is great at day old to three day beard it charges quickly and keeps a charge a long time. The only reason for less then 5 stars is the trimmer is awkward to use, it works but is clumsy. I rarely use it so 4 stars.

My husband had grown tired of his Panasonic electric shaver which required constant cleaning. He found this one with a self-cleaning feature and after researching reviews of similar, more expensive models, chose this one. Braun has an outstanding reputation for shavers so he decided to give it a try. He raves about it; saying it gives a really close, smooth shave and it's so simple and hassle-free to use and clean. After each use, you just place the shaver back in the cleaning and charging station and the sensors tell you whether it needs to be cleaned. If it needs cleaning, you simply push a button. If you're going on a short trip, you can just take the charging cord with you and leave the cleaning/charging station at home. I actually found a much lower price on Amazon but Best Buy matched their price. I had to call in the order to get the price match. I was so amazed at how quick and simple it was to get Best Buy to match Amazon's price; I would definitely order from them again. Their customer service has always been great and I was also able to earn points toward a reward certificate for this purchase.

I had switched from Braun several years ago to Panasonic. However, over the past few years, it seems that the Panasonics just did not get as close as it should. This is with changed shaving heads, foils, etc. Reviews indicated that this shaver gives one of the closest shaves. I find that to be the case. And, I use the cleaning system once a week. The cleaning cartridges should last several weeks. Glad that I switched!

I've used multiple electric razors in the past, both foil and tri-head models, and this one cuts quickest and closest. It's also the first electric razor I've used that's actually cut down on the number of ingrown hairs I get. The automatic cleanup keeps this guy ready for action. Awesome purchase!

I've had a number of electric razors in the past and have had issues with every one. So, when I found this one, which offered a wet-dry option and self-cleaning, I was intrigued. Braun offered a 60 day trial, so I figured I had nothing to lose. I can tell you that I have a very difficult time shaving as my hairs do not grow in the same direction. Regardless, this razor does an acceptable job of keeping everything trimmed. Additionally, since the razor allows me to use shaving cream, I am able to minimize dragging and irritation. The self-cleaning function works well, providing me with a clean, sanitized razor to use every time. Given that I typically shave every other day (I hate doing it, regardless of the device being used), I have had it two months and haven't even used 1/2 of a tank of cleaning fluid -- something I was concerned about as well. All in all, while it's not cheap, this unit does a great job of keeping me looking as good as possible. ;)

This is the second one. The first one lasted 8+ years and it was worn out. This one is quiet and does a great job. I like the cleaning of the shaver in the base. The price is not cheap but if you look how much it cost for razors per week month I'm money ahead.

I am retired and have been through multiple electric shavers in my journey through life. I recently had a Norelco shaver that after I finished shaving, stubble could still be felt. This Braun shaver cuts close, is quick (5 minutes to get a close shave), skin feels soft, and it is extremely easy to use and care for. The fluid cleaning system that comes with the shaver is excellent, and frees me up from remembering and using my free time to clean my shaver head. The only hesitation I have at all with this shaver is the cost of the shaver system. But in this case you get excellence that make the cost well worth it.

Having been a Braun Razor client for over 30 years, this is the best one I have ever had. It cuts all areas of my face and neck, and may be the quietest razor I have ever had. I would highly recommend this razor.

My husband loves the Braun 790 shaver. Easy to use and clean with the clean/renew station. Best Buy matched the lower price of another store. Very good buy. Shaves well for a senior citizen who has difficulty with a sharp edge razor. Highly recommended for that reason.
