My first electric shaver
||Posted .So far I have had this product for almost a month. Pros and cons. Pros: It holds a charge very well. I never have to clean it often or use the included cleaning solution. The blade is recomended to be replaced in about 18 months from first use. It helps me shave much faster than normal. Aesthetically it is very appealing and comes with a convienient travel pouch for the shaver. Cons: it dont shave over bumps very well and may scar you if you are not careful over pimples. The whole cleaning contraption is useless to me. If I need to clean it I just pop off the shaver head and rinse it under water and let dry before using again. Yes it is expensive but you get what you pay for in this case.

1st class
||Posted .Have had Braun's in the past and always migrated back to a rotary shaver. Well that chapter in my life is over! I'm a happy owner of the best shaver I've ever had. Great system, great shave, the closest shave I've had. Will be happy to recommend to all!!!!

Happy to Shave
||Posted .Great electric shaver. Has a 180° pivot head that u can also lock into a fixed position. After a week I can admit it doesn't get every single hair. Lol it always seems to leave the curly gray ones. However, it clears about 95% on the sides of my face and cheek/chin area. It clears about 85% of the mustache area and about 75% on the neck. It does leave a nice manly finish. Not quite as clean as a baby's butt but ideal to get the job done efficiently. Ideally, you use this everyday to shave the stubble so the hairs don't get too long. When you release the head to brush out the debris, it is almost dust matter or powdered confetti. The lcd meter shows battery power and hygiene level. The first time I used the shaver, I used it to clean a lot of my longer hairs and I also tested the built-in trimmer. It immediately went to 2 bars of hygiene remaining (out of 5 being perfect). When I placed shaver in the self-cleaning reservoir, it took about 15 mins and seemed to run about 15 clean cycles(also loud as heck!). I let it dry overnight and come to realize it sterilized and also left the best smelling lemon sweet scent on the shaver. I still try to use the shaver couple times a day and brush clean the debris out following usage. I avoid using the trimmer cuz it just accumulated too much hair and mess and I'm worried the excessive cleaning cycles will deplete the alcohol cleaning solution too rapidly. I normally shave a couple times per day, brush out after each or every other, and every couple days place in the self-cleaner after losing one or two hygiene bars. The zip up holster for the shaver is also quite handy as I carry it on the go sometimes and shave while stuck in heavy traffic it makes a nice case to keep it in while storing or after cleaning so it will dry. It has a mesh net portion that allows air in and out to assist drying out thoroughly. I still use the manual razor every few days to clear that 10-20% hair growth that somehow sneaks past the cut. But overall the shaver provides a pain-free, hassle-free option for me shaving on the go or in the home. I keep a beard and stash but am tempted to say goodbye to them with trimmer and just keep the resulting slight shadow finish.

Braun 7 vs philips 9000
||Posted .I decided to get back into the electric shaver world once again to save time with shaving and to save my face from cuts in the morning. I tried to look up the best and kept finding the Braun 7 and the Philips 9000 as the ones to buy. The 7 is a foil shaver and the 9000 being a rotary shaver. This led to my next question, well which is the best of the two? I found that this went back and forth on opinion of foil verse rotary so I decided to just buy both and try them for myself. I shaved each side of my face with both and to tell you the truth, you cant go wrong with either. Both give a shave that DO rival the shave of a razor. Now with that in mind, the one that I would say was the winner of the two would be the Braun 7, but that is buy a small margin. What gave the 7 the win is .that it gave just the slightest better shave. You could feel baby smooth skin with no stubble just like from a razor. With the 9000 you still had a pretty smooth shave, but you could feel just the smallest stubble, and I mean the smallest. I had to feel both sides of my face, then have my son feel both sides for a few minutes to really tell the difference. I then noticed that the 7 side of my face didn't need to be re shaved as quickly as the 9000 side, but the 9000 side still held its own. Neither shaver pulled or hurt to shave with my face not being shave over the last three days, and that was with a trimmer. I was so impressed with both. The next thing that gave the 7 the win was the cleaning station. Both work well, but the 7 was able to tell me if the shaver even needed to be cleaned, and even at that point, it can tell at what level it needs to be cleaned. The first level is a quick clean and then it goes all the way up to a full cleaning. This will save on how long you can go before you replace the cleaning solution. The 9000 does not do this, even at the higher price point. Now, if you have to have the rotary shaver or a wet/dry, get the 9000. You will not be disappointed one bit. The shavers are that close. If you are like me who can us either, get the Braun. It shaved just a little better, was cheaper, able to be used plugged in while using and had the smarter cleaning station. I am going to keep both at the end of the day, my son said he would love to have the 9000 if I was going to take it back, so I gave it to him to use with it being better then any shaver he has ever bought. Like I said, you cant go wrong with either....

Excellent shaver
||Posted .This is replacing a basic Braun shaver which left my face feeling dry and sensitive, the foil would not glide smoothly across my face (probably my fault for not maintaining it), and would leave several long or flat hairs untouched. On top of that, the trimmer effectiveness seems to have diminished to barely useful. Enter the 790cc. This thing is a whole new experience. A quick, efficient, clean and close shave with just a single pass most of the time, three sensitivity settings and the foil head pivots and contours to the curves in the face. This leaves my face feeling smooth and actually makes me feel like I can't wait to use it again for my next shave. On top of that, the base cleaner/charger keeps the shaver clean and lubed up for the next use, but I only use it once about every 2 or 3 shaves. Better than letting it get grungy like my last shaver though. Figure it'd also help a little with my sensitive skin which likes to break out often. The only thing is I can't decide whether to leave the base cleaner/charger plugged in 24/7, or if I should just plug it in when I need it. I only have two plugs and we have other things that need plugging in there. Leaving it plugged in 24/7 also means that the shaver will always have a full charge. Makes me wonder if it will wear the battery out by being constantly charged. Overall though, excellent buy.

Smooth, Simple and Hassle-Free Shaver
||Posted .My husband had grown tired of his Panasonic electric shaver which required constant cleaning. He found this one with a self-cleaning feature and after researching reviews of similar, more expensive models, chose this one. Braun has an outstanding reputation for shavers so he decided to give it a try. He raves about it; saying it gives a really close, smooth shave and it's so simple and hassle-free to use and clean. After each use, you just place the shaver back in the cleaning and charging station and the sensors tell you whether it needs to be cleaned. If it needs cleaning, you simply push a button. If you're going on a short trip, you can just take the charging cord with you and leave the cleaning/charging station at home. I actually found a much lower price on Amazon but Best Buy matched their price. I had to call in the order to get the price match. I was so amazed at how quick and simple it was to get Best Buy to match Amazon's price; I would definitely order from them again. Their customer service has always been great and I was also able to earn points toward a reward certificate for this purchase.

Great razor
||Posted .I've used Norelco rotary razors for over 20 years. Unhappy with the cost of replacement blades so I decided to try a new brand. Researched many brands and models and decided on the Braun. Have used now for about a month and it provides a great shave. Took a couple of weeks for my skin to adjust to new razor, but now I'm getting a close, clean shave. Didn't think I needed the cleaner, but wouldn't have another razor without it. Razor comes out very clean and with a fresh smell. Only negative is this style doesn't collect as much razor hair as the rotary style, so it's a little messing if you don't shave at the bathroom sink. However, the close shave is well worth it. So impressed, I replaced my son's Norelco a couple of weeks ago with a Baun. If you get one, be patient for a couple of weeks. Your face has to adjust to any new electric razor. After a couple of weeks, you'll see a difference. Hopefully the replacement blades will work as well as the original. They are reasonable priced. Whatever razor you buy, research the cost and availability of OEM replacement blades.

Best Electric Shave
||Posted .As a guy with thick facial hair I have never found an electric razor that gave me a decent shave. Had to rely on non electric razors for years which caused ingrown hairs which for those who experience this know can be annoying. Decided to research electrics and found this razor in numerous reviews including Best Buy. A few weeks in and I am extremely impressed at the closeness this shaver provides. It's very VERY close to a regular razor but not close enough to cause any ingrowns. I am now a Braun man because of this and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a close shave and don't believe an electric can provide one. Yes it's pricey but like they say you get what you pay for and this is quality and consistency all around. As for the cleaner, definitely a nice feature but I honestly believe a little alcohol and hot water may give the same results. The cleaner simply saves me a few minutes when I need to clean it as I just place it in the base, hit the button and walk away. It is noises during the cleaning process but not that bad. The razor is what matter and the razor I will recommend highly.

Q: QuestionWould this product be suitable for shaving your head?Or is there another model/product that is better designed for that?
Asked by Zooboomapoof.
- A:Answer I use it on my head every few days. Takes a few passes on the back of your head but I get a great shave every time. Very close to what I get with a regular razor and I feel hardly any stubble. You may have to flip the top of your ear to get that area above your ear but that's it. It really gives a great shave.
