First of all I think I got a used machine, because when I opened it the filter basket was already attached to the portafilter, I saw some unboxing videos on youtube and doesnt look like thats how it should be.
Getting to the machine itself, I decided to by this because a friend suggested Breville - the Barista Express Espresso as he has that for years and its perfect, and I thought this would be a good upgrade from that machine.
Apparently not, some other reviews have already mentioned that coffee is not hot enough, I had the same issue, the espresso shot isnt hot enough to have it by itself, even after I warm the cup. Americanos arent hot enough either and even after adding milk, it was fine for summer days, for a cold winter day I dont think that would be hot enough and your cappuccino or latte will be cold in few mins, definitely before you can finish, unless you chug.
Now this might be because of my inexperience with making espresso, but with same coffee beans, same grind amount and coarseness the pour time varied by more than a few seconds, it might be that I tampered differently, so this might not actually be an issue, but I noticed this quite often after trying to be consistent with tampering.
Overall definitely not happy with the machine, returned it. I was really hoping for this to be good as I like the automated features of milk temperature and coffee selection, nice touch screen, for someone who likes gadgets and love coffee this would have been a great addition.

I returned this product to purchase the one with 15 bars of pressure. The description when comparing the different Breville machines is confusing. In one section it states this machine has 9 bars of pressure and in another section it states it has 15 bars of pressure. I mentioned this to customer service when I returned the item.

Solid little machine until frothing sensor dies, now i have a $1100 paper weight. Worked great for 2 years and 2 months...buut warranty is for 2 years. Replacment part price is over 50 everywhere we looked online. Company is getting called on Monday. WHY would you make a machine that 1 error kills the whole thing??? Not just the frother...the most stupid setup i have ever seen.

I purchsed this machine 4 days ago. The machine is easy to use, but difficult to get the right consistency and flavor. The temp will only reach 170 degrees, but the feel of it was lukewarm. I did not communicate with Breville. I went back to Delonghi as I can get the temp to where I need it and they have presetting making it easier to get the right consistency and flavor

Water pump too weak.

Pump is too weak. If use the coffee grinder to get a medium finer grind the pump is not able to push the hot water, so you can't get the best of your coffee flavor.

Bought this as a gift for my brother and it ended up overheating. Luckily the company has good customee service and is sending a replacement for the item. Ive read online that people have similar issues. Hopefully the next one will not have this issue

Its okay, kinda hard to dial in. Milk frothing is hard to achieve good microfoam.
