Received this as Christmas present, and it works fine on your upper, middle, and lower back, but the shape of the headrest actually keeps it from reaching your neck area and the seat sits oddly on couches or anything but a solid chair. Much warnings about not leaving the heat on which is a bit disconcerting. My son used it on his back and it worked fine for him. I needed something for my calves after long day on feet, so returned this.
