We have owned the brother printer for several years and in fact bought it at BB. The ink used to be very inexpensive and has gone up in price over the past couple of years. We tried refillable and they did not work. What a disaster and went right back to the name brand. It holds up well but they cartridges do not empty at the same time.

So I purchased this after my color ink ran out and I recommend original as they have a warranty for the ink and your printer will retain its warranty.
