Best Game of the Series

I love this game. I played the first one and fell in love with it. The second one was okay, but the third one is the best yet. Wide variety of weapons. There is one problem though. The M1 garand fires a .30-06 round and the Kar98 fires a 7mm round. In real world, both have a devastating effect, but for some reason, the M1 is hard to hit targets with. It takes 3 shots to drop an enemy and is very inaccurate. You can barely get headshots off with it, whereas the Kar98 drops an enemy with one round. I was dissapointed about that, but other than that, the game is a must have. The storyline is interesting and when you think you are done, after 5 missions, your not.
And the gore factor is wicked.

Strategic shooter

To be fair this game and its earlier ones were made to bring a more realistic feeling to a WW2 shooter. It is not your typical shooter where you storm through a stage killing enemies by the 100's. You play as a Srg and have to command your squads around to cover one another and flank. The game has great graphics, a good AI, awesome sound effects and a even better story that will challenge and give you many hours of strategic combat. Please understand that most people knock this game because they are used to and I guess are not bored of your average shooter. If you are tired of typical shooters with no strategy whatsoever then I bet you will love this game. Also note that this game focuses alot more on single player then online.

Although I've just started the game several things have come to my attention about this game, compared to other shooters I've played. When moving through the map on missions, the game restricts the players movement to a 'pre-determended' route. Its a 'you can go right or left' but you can't go climb the fence next to the shack on the right. Or you can't climb out of a window and move along the roof, even though there are situations where it looks like you should be able too. Another thing I noticed, is the game has 'spots' such as mg emplacments, or fences where you're 'allowed' to climb over them, but there might be a crate or sandbag to the right or left you can't even jump on top of, or climb over. Same with vehicles and other objects in the game.
Another thing about the game I don't like is the develpers decided to put a 'checkpoint' system in, rather than allow the player to 'save' the game at a particular point. Which means if you make it to just before a checkpoint, and get killed, you have to start at the last checkpoint, which means you have to go back 10 or 15 minutes etc., in the game and start all over. It sucks. If I could get a refund I would, but since I chose the download option, that probably rules that out.
Also, the game takes along time to load, even with a fast PC (Quadcore) and SATA drive with 4 gig memory, and has crashed on me once since yesterday when I started playing it under Vista 64bit.
The keyboard controls of the game are also a bit strange. Strafing left and right is slow and not smooth/fluid when using the mouse for turning left and right.
On a positive note, the games graphics are pretty good, though not on the same level as say a game like COD4, but close. Oh, and the game was $20 less than most shooters in this class.

well this game is fun but it get hard toward the end even on easy but if you liked the other brother in arms you like this but if you go in thinking this game is like call of duty its not the controls and functions are different you control your troops and you can hide behind stuff and use cover. online is hard to find a match so i don't know about buying it id say rent it unless you can buy it cheap then i would because it loses its fun after you beat it. that and there's no trophies

I loved the first two Brothers in Arms so I had to pick up this one. It was fun just like the other two with it's squad based combat and constant flanking strategies. The levels are way too linear though. Every map there is usually one set path you should take which all other ways result in death. Also just going from beginning to end of stages is just one straight line.
Bottom line, its fun, 10 hours long, and repetitive.

overall good game, but has technical flawls

Overall the game is great, but it has some flaws. The first thing I noticed was privates yelling at staff sergents. That wouldn't happen in the real military. Also they have several scenes where officers also have staff sergent chevrons.
Some of the movement commands are glitchy.
The authenic mode is very challenging.

There is so much to say about this game. Its graphics make you feel that you are actually in the war with them. There are many chapters to the story and all of them make you want to keep going. There are some cutscenes in this game that will blow you away. Baker takes you on his physical and mental journey into memories that neither you nor him will ever forget. This is a must-have for shooting game lovers and also the great experience of a first-person shooter. This may be one of the best shooting games ever. The ending of this game leaves you hanging witch i find a little irritating but it lets you know that a sequal is sure to come out. Online play is also another good aspect of this game. Sometimes the servers could be way better but when you have a good one you will have an amazing time playing it. 20 players to a match........10 people on the American squad and 10 people on the German squad. It is truly a load of fun.

For being a WWII era game, I would say this is BY FAR the best out there right now. I am in the U.S. Military and have deployed a couple of times already doing convoys in Afghanistan and Iraq so I know that you need to WORK AS A TEAM to reach your objective. When I play video games I only play them on the hardest difficulty possible. In this game you really do need to be able to use your team in the right spots and right ways to reach your objective with as little injuries as possibe to your squad. This game is very realistic and makes you think as a squad leader would in real life. I actually havn't even played online, Single player is just as addicting and online it always seems like ppl don't listen to orders.

Overall, I would have to say this has been a great game! The mission are challenging yet not over the top if you choose to play on medium difficulty as you cannot choose advanced until you beat it on easy or medium. The graphics are pretty good although not the best. Although after play COD4 or Resistance its hard to top. My only issue is that you cannot choose your weapon selection prior to your mission (While on the weapon topic try using your pistol once and while, it can be surprising fun while behind cover). Other than that an overall great game and worth the 60 bucks.

Excellant Tactical WWII Game

If you had me describe Hells Highway in the simplest terms I can I would call it Rainbow Six in WWII. The whole look and feel of the game is almost exactly the same. By looks I mean the guns are up close and highly detailed. Also the graphics are all around very well done. By feel I mean you will be moving at aboud the same speed and pace as well as commanding a team in about the same way without the room clearing tactics. Also, the cover system is similar but with no blind firing. The Singl-player is very well done and a lot of fun. However the online is no where near Rainbow Six. There isn't many games to join and it's not something I can see myself commiting several hours of game time to. Despite the online, this is a very well done game that deserves at least a rental by anyone who loves tactical team-based shooters. I can only recommend it if you can find it for $20 or so or if you plan on renting it. Replay value is kind of low.

I've been checking out videos from this game and does it ever look sweet. The graphics look amazing and the sound effects from the weapons to the Germans yelling sound so real that it makes you feel like you are really there. Call Of Duty may be one of the best war games made to date but this addition to BIA could be the best WWII game ever made. I only prey that they don't push the release date back again.

Just found this game and looked at the game play videos.. I played the 1st B I A and it was good on pc now in this one they will have damage on items and you can now stack up on walls. Lots of missions more guns and new engine built so should be one hack of a game yet i dont think the game is online but we will see
