I definitely thought this would have lasted longer than it has, for the price. The magnetic snapfit clip hinges have both broken and the apple pencil loop never stays on. Poor deaign and not indestructible at all

This review should've been submitted some time ago but due to unforeseen circumstances, my iPad and its case were misplaced for a with my son's dorm room contents until recently. This past year was interesting to say the least. But back to the task at hand. Upon opening the package, the contents are all recyclable (hooray!), so kudos for that. The fact that Brydge collaborated with Ottrbox is undeniable. This Keyboard case has the feel and heft of Ottrbox products. I'm sure that by now you have read all about this product, but here is my honest review. It is heavy. It is bulky. But what was the reason behind you looking for a case for your iPad? Was it to get a physical keyboard? Was it to protect your investment? This product does both. But is it pretty, you ask? No, it is not. It is what I would call utilitarian. Plain and simple. Pros: Strong, solid, heavy. Cons: Little things like the cloth cylinder that holds the stylus/pencil in place... It comes off more often than not and it is pain to put it back between the two plastic tabs that can't last much longer. The heaviness of the entire thing. I would say that I would recommend you think about the priorities of the case you need. If protection is foremost in your mind, then this is the case for you. If you expect to show off the sleek lines of your new iPad, this thing completely negates any aesthetics of the original device. But you get protection that you can hand off to a toddler and your device has a great probability of surviving. It has a backlit keyboard that is thankfully adjustable, else it would be too darn bright. The keys though are on the smaller size, so someone with the mitts the size of mine will have to be extra careful when typing. It has decent battery life as well. So although it is completely functional, it isn't all things to all folks. One thing I saw elsewhere was that someone mentioned this not fitting right. Well, the package does say it fits gen 7 and gen 8 iPads, so any other models wouldn't be expected to fit. Mine fit our 8th gen iPad so well that it took some work to snap it in place and I hope I never have to remove it...

I've been using iPads with keyboards for years, I've tried many of them. I've owned several iPad air's, and let ms start by saying adding a kbd to an iPad does not turn it in to an iPad Air; first they run different OS's, second an air does not support touch. One of the main reasons I like the iPad with a kbd is for protection, both for the edges and the screen; but YOU don't need a screen protector if you using a kbd case. I've seen other complain that the Brydge can't works with a screen protector. Duh, it provides it's own screen protector, the edge and back are much better protected than with a screen protector alone. Now the biggest down side to a kbd/case is it more than doubles the weight (17oz iPad) + (24oz kbd/case); but it does this to keep the combination balanced. Brydge understands you want the flexibility to position the screen in any position/angle (except flat). So the kbd base needs some weight to counter balance the weight of the iPad+protective cover. I wish the keyboard did not add any weight, but I've try typing on a projected keyboard, it just does not work. In order for a keyboard to function properly there needs to be some key travel, which is why the on screen keyboard just does not cut it for "productive" typing. Sure it fine for entering a password or one word answers. But for longer typing tasks, like this review, I need a keyboard. I also like keyboard that are back lighted so I can use them in darker conditions. It really does help, even if your a 100% touch typer, you still glance at your fingers when doing certain activities. Now on the the Brydge 10.2 max pros and cons. The iPad gen 7 could have supplied power to this kbd, instead they choose to use Bluetooth; I suspect this is to keep the longevity of the IPad. Becoming a power vampire, especially with a back lighted keyboard, will decrease battery life. But when the kbd has gone to sleep, it takes key stroke or two wake the the BT up. Sometimes you miss a keystroke, other times not. But you do have the flexibility to use the kbd disconnected from the iPad (several feet away; I do this during 1:1 presentations). Now the trackpad is most exceptional, the best thing about the Brydge, with iOS 14.5 it supports many more track pad shortcuts, and it does it very well. The next best part it the keyboard itself, a reasonably long key travel, with enought tactile pressure to be comfortable. In my mind more comfortable than the iPad air is today (still to short on key travel). The backlighting is bright under the keys, lots of escaping light, I wish it was better directed thought the key, with less edge bleed. I think the longer key travel may require this, not positive. I happen to also have the next best iPad keyboard/case, the Logitech Combo Touch. It weighs one ounce less; the only place it wins. It won't support the screen in any position, only where the kickstand positions it, if you like your screen at 57 degrees or lower, the kickstand is fine. The Logitech Track pad is not nearly as accurate. And it does not support as many trackpad short cuts. And the key travel is much shorter, much more like the iPad Air. It's back lighting has less bleed but is not as bright (toss up). And the Logitech uses battery power from the iPad. But this is a review of the Brydge, and it's trade offs. And in my mind it you can get over the weight, it's the best iPad keyboard on the market, sure it could be a little better, but it makes me more productive with my iPad. There are times I remove the ipad from the keyboard, and this is easy enough to do and to return it to the Brydge kbd docking clips. I like the protection it provides, and it makes me more productive with it's superior trackpad and keyboard; and those are the reason you look the the Brydge 10.2 max+.

I've has quite a few cases for different tablets. This is by far the nicest feature wise and feel of the materials used by far. Then you add the level of protection that Otterbox provides that pushes this over the top ! Some of the cool features that stands out compared to other quick connect keyboard cases is this ones hinges are magnetic making it extremely easy to connect and remove your tablet from the keyboard itself. Another thing I love about this is the fact that the keys are back lit and adjustable having three levels of brightness. Being able to use this at night without having to try to figure out what keys you're hitting is a must for me! Next would be the track pad!!! I'm an older soul I'm used to having that track pad or mouse in order to maneuver around the screen so giving your tablet this functionality is a huge plus for me! Everything works seamlessly. Quick response with no lag or delays when you're typing or moving your finger on the track pad. Of course last but definitely not least is the fact that Otterbox has built this case. speaks for itself. I've had an Otterbox case on every single electronic device as far as phone or tablet. And I've never had not one break even after multiple drops. On the company's site they said "The case and keyboard exterior contain an active antimicrobial ingredient that inhibits the growth of microorganisms. This antimicrobial technology is effective against harmful bacteria and viruses, providing ongoing protection for the lifetime of the product. *It does not protect the iPad screen or the keyboard keys." My only very minor negative comment is this is a fingerprint magnet. Barely touching it it leaves fingerprints all over it do the oil on your skin. Maybe this is because of what is quoted about about what the case is made of which is why I added it. Over all I love the case and would highly recommend it to others

    Awesome iPad case and keyboard

The Brydge MAX+ keyboard case with trackpad is awesome. It is kind of a game-changer when it comes to mobility and usability. It essentially turns your iPad in to functional laptop. Pros: - Very flexible and comfortable viewing angles - Keyboard! - Trackpad! - Backlit with adjustable brightness! - Easy to install iPad in to back casing - Relatively easy to set up - a few quirks with the software, but overall pretty good. - Comfortable keyboard typing and navigating with the trackpad (much, much faster than with an on-screen keyboard) Cons: - The instructions weren't super clear and I'm not sure someone with very little knowledge of how to setup a device would successfully install. - Example: Assistive Touch was already off but the app instructions are to connect and pair to Bluetooth, then forget the device(?), then toggle Assistive Touch, reboot, then re-pair the device. The instructions worked, but I’m not sure why or if all that was necessary compared to other bluetooth keyboards I have paired. - Hit or miss with auto-correct; i --> I is very inconsistently corrected and words like "wasn't," "don't," etc. often do not get corrected with the apostrophe. Overall - this is definitely an iPad accessory I would recommend. The boost in both productivity and usability with the keyboard and trackpad really make a basic iPad very close to a MacBook. I found myself using my iPad more, especially for typing-heavy tasks like email. This is such a great product and I am glad to see they offer it in other sizes, too! My iPad Pro with cellular will benefit tremendously from this type of product - the ultimate in mobility and productivity.

Based on the mixed reviews i read before purchasing, I wasn’t sure if this keyboard was worth it. After using it for a little under a month I’m glad i bought it. It works great and using the trackpad gestures makes navigating apps way easier than touching screen. Plus when you use your hands directly on the screen to switch apps it blocks your view so I definitely prefer the track pad. When you first buy it just make sure to install the updates for the keyboard so that it does all of the gestures. Now that I’ve used the gestures with the trackpad i would never buy a keyboard case without one. When using the Apple Pencil to write notes or draw i just reverse how it sits on the table, i put the screen flat on the table and angel the keyboard back so that it’s out of the way. As far as durability, so far I’ve had some blinds come off the window and fall on to the case while it was closed. It left a dent in the case but didn’t affect the iPad at all. The iPad fits snug in the slots of the keyboard case. I have a screen protector over the screen so when i first went to slide it in the case it caught the edges of the screen protector. If i was to take it in and out of the case a lot this would be a problem but i have just left mine put together. I seen a review that said the backlight for the keys wasn’t bright enough but mine work just fine. The Apple Pencil holder is good to hold the pencil when you’re already at your desk and set up but as far as keeping it in place while its in your backpack it comes loose. I read a review that said you have to hold the hinges when opening or closing the case you don’t. You can open and close it with no problems the only time i can see having trouble is if you don’t have the iPad pushed all the way down into the slots. If you’re doing research into if you should buy this case or a more expensive one, i honestly don’t think you can go wrong with this one. My experience with it has been great.

This is a pretty great keyboard. I personally use it for college especially since I didn’t want to buy a separate laptop. It’s easy to use, only having to connect it once and pressing a button to turn it on and off. You can easily detach your iPad and connect it again when you’re need arises. It is a bit bulky but I don’t notice after using it for a bit now.

I absolutely love the Brydge 10.2 Case. It appears to have a long battery life, and the function keys are awesome. I was super blessed to be able to receive it, as it was literally the last one left in my local store that I rushed to buy 10 minutes before closing. Additionally, it was cheaper then the simple Apple Keyboard that I returned, in exchange for this product, and even was able to get money back due to the cheaper amount. The only concern I have is that the charging cable is super short and annoying. One may have to literally place it on the floor or a chair placed very close to an outlet or surge protector to charge. The other issue is that the mouse pad is so large that it's challenging not to brush against it, while keyboarding, but it hasn't caused any major mishaps. I read somewhere that the mousepad can be disabled, but I haven't explored that option yet. Otherwise, it's very user friendly and makes ones Ipad function just like a mini laptop. I love it!!!1

Review of The Brydge 10.2 MAX+ Keyboard Case with Trackpad for Apple iPad (8th and 7th Generation) in black. I looked at a lot of covers before finding this one. Had great reviews and I'm lucky to have purchased the (then) last one at the Best Buy store in Troy, MI. It is solid, safe if it drops for up to four feet, it is very ease to put together with iPad and while a little more expensive that I originally wanted to spend, I feel this will last for a number of years. Great purchae!

While it still worked, this was an alright setup. The case that the iPad mounts in is solid and seems like it would protect well, and once I got the hang of the hinges, it worked pretty well to slide it in and out. The keyboard was comfortable to type on, and with a firmware update, the trackpad worked quite nicely. Unfortunately, within the first day, the Apple Pencil holder came loose. It's just an elastic band threaded through a hole with a couple flimsy plastic tabs holding it in place. It seems likely that it'd break the tabs off if it caught on something. I couldn't get it to stay. Over the next week, I got irritated with the inconvenience of a Bluetooth solution over the Smart Connector keyboard I'd used before. It didn't always wake up immediately (though it did come on within a couple seconds), and you can't wake it up with the trackpad at all. If I removed the iPad from the hinges to use separately, I had to either power off the keyboard or toggle it on the iPad itself. One week later, none of this mattered at all, because it simply refused to power on again, show any indication it was charging, or respond to anything at all. I decided it wasn't worth trying to get it replaced or repaired.
