Another great Brydge product.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is 5th Brydge keyboard I have owned, the 3rd iteration for the Surface Pro 4. All the Brydge products have been top notch – good quality, well thought out and ergonomic. However, the latest version Brydge - 12.3 Pro+ wireless keyboard does take a step back from the prior version in a few areas (and some steps forward.) First, it is a good keyboard. Far better than the OEM Surface Pro keyboard. What I like about the all the Brydge keyboards, the tactile feel and experience of the keys. In this latest version, the keys are even better, albeit slightly, than the prior version. Travel is good with the keys offering just the right resistance. One of the problems with OEM keyboards is the total lack of resistance and limited key travel – something you will find is not an issue with the Brydge Pro keyboards. The biggest improvement was the large track pad, far larger than prior versions. I do find it a far easier to use and the pad seems more responsive. So far, these are all positives and I mentioned earlier that this keyboard is a step back. Two things that really stand out as steps back compared to prior Brydge Pro keyboards – the hinge and partial plastic construction. There is nothing wrong with plastic, it is strong and lightweight. The prior version I have is all aluminum. It is heavier and thicker but I find it more premium looking and a bit more stable as I am typing ( less flex.) The hinge, while still good, seems less robust and smaller than prior versions. I did not have any issues but I can see some differences and the older version was a tighter fit. So , the all important question of would I recommend the current version of the Brydge - 12.3 Pro+ wireless keyboard? Absolutely. It is a great keyboard. The track pad is great and the keys give a much better experience than the OEM keys. I would have liked for Brydge to stick with the all-aluminum contruction of the prior version but if I had to buy latest keyboard for my Surface, it would be this one.

Best Keyboard for the Surface Pro
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, this review is going to be a little biased, I own (purchased myself) a first gen Brydge keyboard for my Surface Pro that I thought was way better than the floppy keyboard that is generally for the Surface Pro. I have used it through multiple generations of Surface Pros and have been completely happy with it minus that the mouse was not great. I will go into more detail, but this one fixes everything thing that was wrong with the first generation and is just better. I’m not going to try to convince you a tablet is the best computer form factor, If you are looking at this keyboard there is a good chance you have already decided that a tablet is the best form factor for you. For me, I love the tablet form factor for the field or when I am taking notes for a class I’m taking. But I wouldn’t consider another tablet computer if I couldn’t make the Brydge keyboard work for it as when I am in my rocking chair, in bed, or have my laptop in my lap connected into a controller crammed into a corner of a data center, the rigid laptop form factor can’t be beat. I tend to use the Brydge keyboard in a variety of situations and one advantage for the workplace especially, but it could be useful in a variety of situations is Bluetooth, the normal floppy keyboard is useless once you disconnect it, this guy on the other hand can be used across the room, so if you need to put your surface by the projector, this can go to the desk and gives you quite a bit of flexibility. Physically it is well built, like get thrown down the stairs by your toddler, leaving a giant indent in the sheet rock but not even a mark on the keyboard kind of tough (though I do not recommend this test be repeated on purpose). The keyboard is really nice to type on the backlight has three levels of brightness. The mouse has gone from the worst feature on the first gen to maybe one of the best features. It has several built-in functions that I am still trying to remember all of them but the scroll it is so nice I do not automatically pull out my wireless mouse anymore. The three-finger app switching is a really nice feature too. Overall the best way I can describe this is that it turns your Surface into a laptop, it has all of the laptop functionality with it, if it has been less than 15 min your screen will automatically turn on if your laptop was closed, if you close it the screen turns on, you can wake up the surface even after 15 min or 8 hours or 16 hours, with a touch of any key on the keyboard instead of needing to hit the power button on the surface. It is heavy enough to use it at most angles (I think it starts to tip at about 140 degrees). The battery has lasted quite nicely so far though I can’t really give a good review on that as I haven’t had it long enough, it does use USB C to charge, which is the same as the newest Surface Pro which can be helpful for always having a charger. The grips for the Surface are further apart than the first generation and don’t block the screen at all. Some disadvantages can include that the tablet is a little hard to detach (which means that it is also quite secure, and wont just fall out). It can’t be used as a wired keyboard at least from my experimentations. Lastly it doubles the weight of your Surface Pro. All of these aren’t an issue for me. Pros: Instant on Back light Nice to type on Quality construction Keeps tablet secure USB C charging port Great mouse Battery Life (at least so far) Cons: A tad hard to get your tablet out No wired option Doubles the weight of the Surface Pro I would recommend this over any keyboard available for the Surface Pro. I absolutely love it and has made the Surface Pro the perfect device in my opinion.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been looking for something like this for awhile. Keyboard is wireless, so I can mount my Surface and continue to use this keyboard. This is the last piece to my mobile work space.

You really need a keyboard
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really did not want a tablet without a keyboard because i do not wish to wipe off fingerprints daily. Makes such a good interface no one realizes its it's own separate thing.

Seems good after an hour of testing, update soon
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Out of box there was a dent where the charging port was. Device was also very dusty. If this was a used product, then I should not have been charged full price. Works fine so far after an hour of testing. Was at 70% out if box. Fits my surface pro 7 perfectly. Connection was a breeze.
