The best external hard drive I've purchased and I did a lot of research. It's a never-fail and such a great deal. A lot of backup space for a really great price!

Good Hard drive. Bought it because of the 7200rpm for video editing.

The drive works as advertised, although its true test will be lasting for at least 5 years. It was relatively straightforward to set up with a Mac, although a novice would have had problems following the instructions provided, which i didn't need. It did arrive a week early, although given that you estimated a delivery time of almost two weeks to get it to one of your stores for pickup, that is not particularly amazing.

This product was easy to install, easy to use and cost effective. My only complaint is that the web site for warranty purposes was not listed correctly. Even when I googled it I could not find one That being said, I would recommend this product

I use this for graphic design. It's fast enough to work off of when I'm mobile. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is due to the size. But you get what you ask for when you need substantial amounts of space.

I finally gave up archiving my Lightroom catalog and files and added this hard drive to my laptop config. Works great and fast, sorry I held out for so long.

Great external hard drive for backing up your PC hard drive. I backed up two laptops with this drive and still had plenty of space left.

So, as most people who own an Xbox One know that the 500GB memory on the system is a joke. If you own 8-10 games then you're already done because the 500GB is not really 500GB, more like 370GB. I ran out of space fast, and this was a perfect solution to increase my capacity. Plugged it in, the system recognised it and formatted it for the Xbox. It's silent, runs a little warm, but nothing to worry about. I have ALL my games saved to it, freeing up my internal memory. Key things to look for in an external hard drive for the Xbox One are 7200rpm and USB 3.0. This met both requirements. Then its simply a case of cost vs memory size. The 7200rpm helps select games load faster. Sometimes it can be by a gap of 20 seconds, sometimes a few seconds and times where there's no change at all, it just depends on the game. Sadly most external hard drives that Best Buy offers in store are limited to the slower 5400rpm and an external HDD that uses only a USB to power them. You'll mostly find that the 500GB - 2TB uses only USB (this Buffalo requires a dedicated outlet due to the size and speed of this model). If anything, just youtube the speed comparison videos of 5400rpm Vs 7200rpm for consoles (not PC). The 5400rpm is the same speed as the one internally so if you're happy with read/write times then you'll be able to get a cheaper, larger drive. I have no issues with this hard drive. I got it on sale for cheaper than advertised. I love it. And if need be, I can add another external in the future should the need arise.

I bought this specifically for downloading video games and I havent experienced any issues. The only issue I do have is with the plug. Its very heavy, and doesn't stay in the wall very well (knocked it out in the middle of a game more than once). I definitely suggest putting it on a power strip!

Second unit I purchased. Great capacity at a fair price. Basically just plug it in and off you go. I highly recommend this hard drive if you are looking for more storage capacity.

This product has a huge issue. I have a previous version of it at home now, which is being used for storing video files and photographs of all important events. When unused, power turns-off by itself and then gets disconnected from the computer. I had disconnect and reconnect power to turn it on. Many times, the drive doesn't shows up in the computer. Over the period, it completely got corrupted. I had to use special software to recover the files. Sad. The new one showed the same problem, the power issue, so I had to return immediately after I bought.
