Ok, I’m just gonna put it out there without feeling bad….this thing is beautiful! I mean goodness, who would look at an air fryer and think “my goodness, aren’t you good lookin”! Now I have to admit, my previous air fryer wasn’t an ugly duckling, but this one definitely blows it out of the water. The sleek design is very modern and stylish, but without the overwhelming aspect of 50 buttons crammed into a small space. The digital display is simple and easy to read with a cool white display. The knobs are multi-functioning as they are used to select different cook modes via turning, pressing in to “select” and to adjust temperature, time and shade of your food. This works very well when used for bagel mode, cookie mode, and toast mode, which are all separate functions/modes. The door also had a huge window to give a large viewing area to your food as you patiently and anxiously watch it cook. Again, a beautiful unit!! Ok, let me get to the important parts of this. The cafe couture oven comes with all the necessary items for an amazing air fryer; an air fry basket, baking tray, wire rack, and even a pizza pan! Me being a huge pizza lover, this brought joy to my little heart. These are standard for most air fryers, but the pizza tray is a bonus feature for me. Another amazing feature is the app. Yes, this air fryer has an app! Not only are you able to preheat, start cooking and control your settings via the app, but you can also find recipes, scan food product labels to cook using the recommended times, use voice control, receive notifications, schedule service/appliance support, and purchase other products. So, while you cook you can also get lost in shopping for more appliances, or looking up recipes for meals later in the week. I have to say upon initial setup, it took 4 tries to get the unit connected/paired with the app. However, once it connected it was a breeze. This may be insignificant, but I think another cool feature is the design of the heating elements….they are basically clear. That may not wow many people, but it definitely wowed me. Ok, the maiden voyage for my unit was a frozen pizza. Again, being a pizza lover, this was an important test for me. Using the pizza tray, I set the cooking mode to “pizza” and let it do its thing. Well….I’m a believer, the outcome was nothing less than great, especially for a frozen pizza. The crust was cooked perfectly, with nicely crunchy edges, the center was cooked throughout, none of the toppings were burned, simply perfectly cooked! And I have to say, it didn’t take long at all; 12 minutes then boom….mouthwatering perfection. Now for the second part of the test, the cleanup. Everyone knows there’s casualties from pizza whether it’s toppings falling off or cheese. I had both overflow and drip down to the crumb tray. Cleanup was absolutely easy. I simply wiped with one swipe, and all was gone…grease, oil, cheese and sausage. Little by little, I’m growing to love this air fryer even more. Hands down, If you’re in the market for a convenient, “smart” tech savvy air fryer, this is the one for you!!!

Wouldn't keep Wi-Fi connection and the heat the unit puts out is ridiculous

Instead of getting a separate air fryer, we decided to upgrade our toaster oven to this GE Café Couture with one built in. This is an extremely capable small appliance but has some quirkiness that I’m sure we’ll get used to. PROs • By placing the control knobs on top, the oven’s footprint is not much larger than many smaller capacity toaster ovens – a welcome design given the premium on counter space. • Stainless steel and brass knobs give it an upscale look. • Air fryer functionality is superb. Fries and other veggies cooked to a perfect crisp, and stayed that way well into our dinner. • Heating elements baked every dish evenly – from roasted vegetables to toasted bread. • A large capacity oven like this keeps heating elements further away from bread than a traditional toaster. As a result, toast is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and the edges are not burned or dried. • If you open the door while cooking (for example, to turn over the food, or add ingredients), the timer pauses. Once the door is closed, the timer continues. That’s a really nice detail. • Decent number of accessories: wire rack, air fry basket, pizza tray and non-stick tray. • Lots of baking functions to suit a variety of foods: air fry, pizza, cookies, bagels, dehydrate and more. • The included recipe book has plenty of interesting dishes that we can’t wait to try. CONs • Wifi is terrible. We never did get it work. Even the instruction manual warns that multiple attempts may be needed to get it connected, which is GE’s way of saying, “We know our wifi is subpar.” No surprise here because we also have a GE Café Couture espresso machine that took way too much effort to setup on Wifi. • The display interaction is confusing. For example, if you press Cancel to stop baking, the display still shows your settings and the fan will still be running. This makes you think nothing was canceled even though the heating elements will be off. You can press cancel a second time to turn off the display. • Read the manual carefully. Some of the display interactions are not intuitive. For example, if you press the Start button, it will continue blinking while getting ready to pre-heat. And it takes a few seconds before “Pre-heating” is displayed. But if you press Start again (which is natural since it’s blinking), it will cancel the pre-heat mode and the timer will begin counting down. Page 11 of the manual shows you which cooking modes use the pre-heat functionality, and which don’t. • The description indicates it can accommodate 9”x13” cake pans. While true, it’s assuming your pan or dish doesn’t have large handles. Do take into account the exterior dimensions of your dish before assuming it will fit. I knocked off 1 star due to the horrible wifi. Otherwise, this is a great addition if you have space in your kitchen.

Where do I begin? This thing does so much and I am in love with it. I can throw away my toaster and the money I will save by not using my full size oven will be significant. Opening the box, and the item is packed very well. It is fully assembled and ready to use. Make sure you take all of the plastic off. The instructions recommending that you run the oven at 400 degrees to burn any oil off of the heating elements. We did this outside to protect our bird. The oven is quite striking. I LOVE the copper knobs and handle. It looks quite handsome in our kitchen. After the initial run to burn off any chemicals, we were ready to use it. Every morning I have a bagel for breakfast and this does a great job. It browns one side and lightly toasts the other. My toaster did not have a bagel setting so this is already making things better. The range of things that this oven will do is incredible! In addition to toasting, convection baking, and air frying, it also cooks pizza, has a cookie setting, proofs dough, AND dehydrates fruits, veg, and meats!!! I can't believe everything that this thing does. Probably my most favorite feature is the Crisp Finish feature! It came in so handy on the 4th of July. I had smoked some ribs but my wife doesn't want caramelized BBQ sauce, but I do. I usually finish on the grill after smoking, but with this oven I was able to coat my ribs and put them in the oven with the Crisp Finish tool and it caramelized the sauce on my ribs perfectly! My wife got her dry ribs and I got my BBQ sauce. I give this oven an unconditional 5 stars and would give more if I could. This is a great product and worth every penny.

As a non-cook almost, it took me awhile to used to this, had to learn what settings make things taste better, I use airfry a lot, and at the end use the crisp function for a few minutes, often I have to cut down the time called for on package directions on the air fry cycle, and only do the crisp function for 2, 3, 4 minutes or so. I was very impressed that when I plugged my oven in to a new outlet, only the control panel would light up, not even the inside light bulb would work. e-mailed GE, who sent out a replacement oven. Turns out it was my expensive surge protector that was supposed to be able to handle 20 amps, heavy duty appliances - this oven only uses 15 amps max. Was impressed that GE covered this product so quickly. Had to return replacement oven as nothing wrong with mine. I may buy another for a good friend.

Great toaster oven with all of the features. My only complaint is that the wire rack runs left to right, which makes it harder to slide food out than my old toaster oven. It is quite large, but this is more of a mini-oven than a large toaster.

This is easily the most robust “toaster oven” I have ever been fortunate to use. It has numerous cooking modes, is a great size, is simple to use, and looks great in my still too small kitchen. Yes, it also features air fry. I have typically used a “standard” toaster oven through the years so seeing this box arrive was a bit of a shock. Now, while the unit is large-ish, I found the box was so due to all the packing material used to ship it. It was packed well, but the unboxing was easy, and everything was more or less ready to go. Just a plug and a quick pre-burn and I was on my way. The oven is fairly large, and it is suggested not to put this unit directly under cabinets (without 4” of clearance), so you will want to make sure you have a space for it. I absolutely already struggle for counter space, so my unit is simply replacing my old oven on its cart/shelf. With the size, the oven still feels well-built. Solid. It opens and closes smoothly. It is not overly heavy, but a good weight. Further, I love the internal size. This is one of the biggest improvements for me over my old oven. I can just do more. As such, they give you a nice set of accessories to do just that. You get the standard oven rack, enamel baking (non-stick) and pizza pans (12”), a wire mesh air-fry/dehydrate basket, and a removable crumb tray. Just having more space gives me so many more options. As for looks, the oven looks fantastic. My unit is Stainless with the Café copper accents, as it fits with most of the rest of my appliances. Classic. Plain. A great look. That said, in my dream kitchen, I would have loved the Matte Black finish. Beyond that, dials and buttons are labeled well, responsive, and intuitive. The LCD is very clear and easy to read. All in all, I really like the build and design. The additional space is one of my favorite aspects of this oven, but the versatility of it is easily my absolute favorite part. With my old oven I was somewhat constrained as to what I could do even with the space I had. Here it is the best of both worlds. I am able to do all of the standard toaster oven things…toast, bagel, tuna melt, etc…all with more even, consistent, and better results (more heating elements), while also doing so much more. I have cooked asparagus, chicken, corn, and a large frozen pizza so far with the “oven” feature while even hitting a few “air fry” staples which was entirely new to me. People have been telling me how great air fryers are and I just did not believe or commit to it, but I was wrong. Very wrong. To be able to get that here, in one appliance, is just a great value add. I have been able to throw a lot at this in a short time, and I am impressed, but I think I am only getting started. I am looking forward to trying to bake some cookies and even though I don’t really know anything about dehydrating, the idea of fruit and jerky is something I want to explore. I feel I have to say a quick something about the “smart” features of this oven. They are there, you can use them. Thankfully, there are some protections in place, given the nature of this product, to protect against possible accidents. I just question why this is even a thing? Eventually, down the road when the tech is foolproof, sure, but maybe you don’t need to speak to your oven. At least those are my thoughts. In the end, I just love this oven, I am dropping the toaster part. It is well-built and looks great. More importantly, it works well. Very well. Lastly, it is both extremely versatile (part toaster, oven, air-fryer, warmer, dehydrator) and easy to use. It replaces some of those devices all in one device for me, and at the same time will reduce my reliance on my main oven. There just is not really anything I don’t like about this unit. For me the value is just there, and I think most would feel the same.

We have had some toaster ovens from some very nice name brands. However, this Café Couture Smart Toaster Oven with Air Fry takes things to a much higher level. Rightfully so, one would expect a lot from a small appliance that costs over $400. Personally, we don’t mind spending money on items that are high quality and will provide many years of use for us. Based on what we have seen so far, we don’t think we will be disappointed. If I had one thing that would be nice to see would be a warranty beyond the typical one year. Aside from all the features, one of the biggest benefits is simply the sheer size of this toaster oven. It provides so much flexibility since it has the space for 12” pizzas, 9 x 13 cake pans and 2 qt casserole dishes. If you live somewhere hot like we do it is a wonderful thing to be able to cook family size dishes in the Summer without heating your whole kitchen up from the use of a full sized oven. Take note that GE recommends wiping down the inside of the toaster oven and operating it on Air Fry mode for 20 minutes at 400 degrees prior to one’s first use. Additionally, they recommend it be placed on a heat resistant surface with 4 inches of clearance. Given that this is taller than the average, budget toaster oven one really has to be mindful of the clearance between your counter and upper cabinets to ensure this will work for you. You will probably be like us since we now want to go find more recipes to try all the functions this toaster oven has available. One can roast, toast, bagel, pizza cookies, proof, dehydrate, slow cook, reheat, air fry, CrispFinish, bake and broil. We’ve yet to try all of these, but so far everything we have tried has turned out great. Toast and bagel functions worked evenly and to desired level. Pizza was great and the air fry function put out such a better result than other cooking methods. Something as simple as chicken tenders just cooked so much better on air fry mode. And of course, we had to try french fries that turned out equally well. I would be interested to try out a crème brulee recipe to see if CrispFinish adds that nice carmelized top as the finishing touch. If results are the best indicator I’d say that GE has put plenty of thought into the design of the Café Couture toaster oven. The six quartz heating elements preheat quickly and provide a very nice cooking experience. We experienced no issues with uneven cooking or disappointing results. There is a lot of versatility with this toaster oven between the functions it offers and the range of temperature from 80 degrees to 450 degrees. Included are the heavy duty oven rack, 12” enamel, non-stick pizza pan, enamel, non-stick coated baking pan, wire mesh air fry/dehydrate basket and removable crumb tray. Lastly, I’d just comment on how much I enjoy the looks of this product line. The stainless steel surfaces provide a very high end look and I love the copper accents. The controls are well laid out, easy to read and very intuitive to use. The large window allows one to easily keep an eye on food as it cooks. It’s an added bonus for those that want remote control to be able to connect via wifi and use voice controls and the SmartHQ app to start and program dishes and additionally download updates and new features. For us, we prefer to stick with the hands on controls, but others may find the flexibility nice.

I will start by stating something one doesn't often, if ever, say: This toaster oven is stunning. The Café Couture Smart Toaster Oven with Air Fry, accented with its brushed copper knobs and handle, is simply STUNNING to look at. I have the stainless steel version and it looks gorgeous on my counter. This toaster oven measures 18.6"Wx17"Dx14"H, so it is large, but it fits under my cabinets with plenty of clearance. With that large size comes large capacity! You can cook an entire meal for your family at once. It comes with the necessary accessories to help you including: the obligatory oven rack, wire mesh air-fry/dehydrate basket, non-stick pizza pan, non-stick baking pan and a removable crumb tray. It has 6 heating elements - 4 on the top and 2 on the bottom. They are covered by a cage sort of thing that will protect them from breakage which I think is great, having broken one on another oven. This is a smart oven, so there is an app that uses WiFi to connect your home network to the oven. I've read that you are able to connect the oven through Google Home and Echo. Unfortunately, after several attempts, I just could not make a connection. I don't think this will matter to me at all, because I like the old fashioned way of setting and powering off with a knob. This does what the typical toaster oven can do and so much more - with 14 cooking modes! In addition to the usual, this also has air fry for that wonderfully delightful CRUNCH, cookies, slow cook, proof for your dough, dehydrate which I don't think about until I want it, reheat, keep warm and crisp finish. Crisp finish is an awesome addition because it adds that beautiful brown and crispy texture that makes food look and taste yummy! Within each of those modes, you can select various settings - more or less time, higher or lower temperatures (80 - 450 degrees). The LCD display is large and bright. The toast mode worked great with an even browning. The "shade" setting needed to be fiddled with until I found the darkness I preferred, With previous ovens, I had uneven cooking/browning, even having to turn the food part way through. But with this oven, everything I have prepared is EVENLY COOKED - no dead spots! Bagels came out fantastic. My chicken tenders - on air fry - came out CRISPY and hot. Definite plus with this oven, the fan is on TOP of the unit which makes the disbursement of air even and facing down.That is a good, good thing for me. With a fan in the back, the fan will blow over the food from back to front cooking unevenly and blowing food particles to the front over door. And I made homemade pizza that was so good! It is important to me that pizza crust is crispy and the cheese is melted without burning. For the first time: an absolutely perfect cooked pizza! My only complaint, and it is minor, the oven rack has the "wires" facing side to side. I prefer front to back to make it easier to slide toast, bagels, etc. in/out of the oven. Does this really matter? Not really, it's just me being lazy. Overall, this is an outstanding toaster oven - better than anything I have ever used and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Café Couture Smart Toaster Oven with Air Fry.

The Cafe Toaster oven with air fry does everything it's supposed to. While another brand blew up when we started it, the Cafe has worked perfectly since we received it. It does take a bit of getting used to. Many things cook faster in the Cafe while some we prefer in our oven. Overall, a great addition to our kitchen.

Kitchen items that are marketed as single-function, I usually find ways of using them to multi-task. But then you run into the true "zebras" out there, like the Café Couture Smart Toaster Oven with Air Fry that are multi-function products that are NOT just all gimmicky marketing. You remember those items from back in the day, which would have infomercials running every Saturday morning with a crowd yelling nonsensical catch phrases over and over and over. The Café Couture Smart Toaster Oven with Air Fry again, is NOT one of those. Let's dive in. The only thing that sort of freaked me out during the setup process was all the "prior to first use" cleaning instructions. It wasn't the number of, but the escalating nature. First, they want you to wipe it off with a cloth, then a damp cloth inside, then set it to 450 for a heating cycle. But "Don't worry, the fumes which are emitted will not harm the product". Um. When I see the word "Fumes" My first concern is not about the product (unless I'm the product?). **** BUT it turns out that must have been put in the manual for legal reasons, because there were minimal odors during the pre-use cleaning. None of which I would call "fumes" by any means". **** Before I go into the function, the form of the Café Couture Smart Toaster Oven is pure luxury. Who doesn't love the classic, clean looks of stainless steel? Out of all the different variations, I get the feeling stainless steel will be the best seller. From the rounded corners, to the easy to see screen - everything about the Café Couture Smart Toaster Oven screams "This is classy!!". And it is built to last, it is SOLID. This is not a product that feels like it is going to wear out any time soon. What does the Café Couture Smart Toaster Oven do that makes it stand out ahead of all the others? Get ready for it. This multi-function bad boy does all the following: Air-Fry Bake Broil Crisp-Finish Dehydrate Keep-Warm Proof Reheat Roast Slow-Cook Toast Along with the specialized functions: Bagel Cookies Pizza I have tried out all the functions except for the bagel and cookie functions (for some reason I can't bring myself to do so, personal reasons). And the Café Couture Smart Toaster Oven does them ALL bang-on accurate! Now, I may be breaking a rule, but this truly is a "SET IT AND FORGET IT!" (See above!) cooking device! Others have mentioned that they have had to tweak cooking times a minute here or there. That will be true with any product. Science and everything. But, from air fried chicken, to french fries (fried mushrooms, and fried mozz sticks) oh my! I never was one who thought he'd jump on to the "Air Fry" bus (though some other products got me to for a short while) - the Café Couture Smart Toaster Oven has made me a believer. All the items I mentioned a second ago, plus a bunch more which I won't bore you with Air Fry in the Café Couture Smart Toaster Oven so perfectly, you honestly cannot tell the difference! You will be gaining an Elite, Luxury cooking device on your counter with the Café Couture Smart Toaster Oven. It is well worth the investment (I would expect the MSRP to be more, for everything this baby does). Out of all the products I have reviewed, this is one that very quickly earns a five-star rating from me!

This toaster oven/air fryer has exceeded my expectations. I use it for everything from my morning toast (no more setting off the smoke detectors!) to reheating leftovers perfectly to air frying my husband’s often requested french fries. Tbh, I chose the café couture over other brands for it’s good looks—I refused to have some ugly plastic monstrosity on my counter. I hoped the oven would cook well, and I wasn’t disappointed. If you mostly cook for one or two, this can replace your main oven and microwave. The simple delight of reheating a slice of pizza or pastry and it comes out gently heated to crispy perfection is worth it alone. Highly recommend.

The features on this oven are amazing, more than I really need, and class leading for this appliance. Cafe is an upmarket version of GE appliances, and as such, I expect superior quality in every aspect. We have lived with this oven for a few months and can say with confidence that the features it offers are second to none. Cooking with it is a joy and all we had hoped for. That said, a quibble I have with the product involves finishing... We press buttons like most people by sticking our fingers directly onto the labeled button. After a few weeks, I am disappointed to find that the lettering on the buttons does not hold up, but rather wears off with use. The 'Start' button on our oven is now the 'Star' button because the t just plain wore off after only a few weeks of use. This is disappointing on a high-end appliance. We now must remember to push buttons from the edges so that we don't touch the lettering, because it is delicate. I'd expect this from a budget brand, but NOT from GE Cafe.

So far very good. Me and my wife love this product. Not only it looks beautiful but it cooks the food just right.

The Cafe - Couture Smart Toaster Oven makes for a great mother's day gift

Cafe needs to rethink this toaster oven. There are a lot of great things about it. It turns itself off. A major plus! It uses way less electricity than an oven. My electric bill actually went down! I can't say it was because of this, but nothing else changed when I stopped using my 30 inch oven. It roasts very nicely. The picture makes me chuckle a bit because it's a VERY tight fit for a whole chicken or a turkey breast. And they splatter. But for a few portions of salmon, roasting red pepper slices, even roasting small to medium sweet potatoes, it does very nicely. Forget cookies. My cookies were a disaster (and I'm an experienced baker). Some were pale in the middle and browned on the edges, some were barely baked, some were a deep brown-and that was all on the same tray! The biggest down side is that it's impossible to clean. I have tried several different methods. The glass door was manageable with a baking soda paste and a razor blade. But the interior is a mess. There's just no way to easily remove the splatter on the walls, not to mention the splatter behind the heating elements! Nightmare! The settings are a little tricky but once you learn them, they're okay. However it is VERY easy to accidentally change the setting while adjusting the timer. And you have to learn that if you don't press start again after the preheat, it will turn itself off. A good safety feature but can be annoying. IF Cafe could figure out a way to have this little guy self-clean, it would be a winner.

I am in love with my oven. I recommend if you don’t like using big oven. Perfect for baking and air frying.
