I was thinking the price was more tied to style than functionality when my wife pointed it out. I was mistaken. The GOLD setting is perfect for those who like a strong cup of coffee. I saw some reviews about coffee grinds everywhere, and that is simply based on what brand and grind you choose. Seattle's Best #5 dark works like a charm.

Worst coffee machine yet

It makes a mess, the carafe stains so easily, and there's no way to keep the coffee warmer than 2 hours. Others who have owned it longer also say the bronze coating peels off eventually. I had it like a month and tossed it, so that was a $200 waste! Boo!

Didn’t even work

Unfortunately, I can tell you nothing about the taste of the coffee it brews. I set it up and, despite the full water tank, it said add H2O. I tried everything-emptied and filled over and over, unplugged and started again over and over. I called customer service and was told it had a faulty sensor and I should exchange it at the store. Returned. This seems like a warning of problems to come and at this price point I was hoping I was buying a quality product that would last.
