COD4 has two main components, the campaign mode, and online multiplayer. The game excells at both. The campaign mode is of decent length with around 20 separate missions and the online multiplayer overs a good variety of modes to play from. It even has a one on one vs mode. When playing online, the game presents an inherent hurtle, as starting players have very limited acess to weapons and add ons. This forces players to struggle alongside other players that have unlocked various perks, weapon add ons, and better weapons. There are two essential unlockables that will make the game more enjoyable, because you will win significantly more stand-offs. These are the Red Dot Sight, and Last Stand. They are invaluable. Once a player gets over the initial hurtle of COD4, he or she will enjoy the game for the depth and fast, tactical, gamplay.

It's easy...BEST FPS for the PS3. CoD 4 gives an experience far beyond it's past installments, with really photo-realistic graphics, a very good, enjoyable and easy gameplay, really cool weapons, CoD 4 is a game that every FPS gamer must get!!! A really nice feature (at least one I enjoyed a lot) is that you can get into the guns of a C-130 and blast all your enemies with awesome gunnery from the plane, you also get to do that on a chopper but it's not THAT fun as it is on the plane. You gotta believe me, this is a game not only ment for FPS fans, but every gamer should get this one, it is a game that you will enjoy either on sinlge or multi-player modes. Strongly Recommend. Besides...there are about 10 to 15 really GOOD games for the PS3 and this is easily one of the top 3 available to date for SONY's console

I have been playing video games going all the way back to the very first pong. To get to the point, this game is hands own the BEST game that I have ever played. This game shows the capability of the PS3 and what quality game development can deliver...it's almost as though you are playing in an interactive film. My wife who's not a big gamer walked in the room the other day when I was playing and was amazed at how real the game appeared. Playing with a 6.1 surround sound system and on a big screen tv is just amazing totally immersing you in what are nothing short of picture perfect environments. The mission where it is snowing just blew my mind If they ever figure out how to add the smell of gunpowder and ...well I might be getting ahead of myself. Seriously, get this game!!! Definitely worth every penny.

Have you ever heard a movie hyped up, gone to watch it, and been disappointed because your expectation had been brought up way high? That's what I thought would happen with Call of Duty 4. I heard all the buzz and expected it to be an awesome game. Usually, whether it's a movie or a game, it doesn't live up to the hype. However, for me, Call of Duty 4 did live up to the hype! I was most impressed with the storyline and the flow of events leading to the end of the game. The graphics are awesome and the characters dynamic. The geography was realistic and made it seem like you were actually exploring the actual locations. Very cool! The only let down was that the game ended to soon, in my opinion. But then again, this might just be me enjoying the game so much that I didn't want it to ever end...

This is the best game I have ever played. I am not a "gamer" at all. My buddy told me to buy this game so we could play online together. Once I hopped online to play, all bets were off. My wife now complains that I do not spend any time with her!!! I am always playing this game. I bought a 47" 1080p Toshiba tv, and the graphics are GREAT!!! The online play by far is the best, with the only exception of the hundreds of young kids lollering into the mics (you can now mute them). There are a lot of different maps to play, and many different online modes to play also. I think this will be the game to own for the next 3 or 4 years.

If you like Realistic Strategic Warfare Gameplay. This Game has it and some. In Depth Storyline combined with Real to Life graphics and Intense Strategic gameplay gives this game a huge leap beyond FPS (First Person Shooter) games. Use Tactics to overcome the opposition along with a Huge Arsenal of (Realistic) Weaponry. The Physics of the game are astounding and will leave you wanting to play the game over and over again. This is especially true in the online gaming where there are varieties of different maps, ways to play, and you can play alongside your friends. Using Bluetooth Headsets you can communicate with your teammates to win the objective. This is one of the Best Games I have played in a long time. The Enemy could could be anywhere. Remember, watch those corners!

This is a very, very good FPS game for the PS3. I never thought Resistance could be topped so soon, but this game is better in a lot of ways. I love the different situations of the soldiers you play, plus the styles of play you encounter throughout the game is great. From heavy fighting, to sniping, to shooting enemies from the air, to stealth-like missions... wow. The single player story is great, although I wish that it would play a little longer than it did. However, you can play it again under higher difficulties depending on how you started. There is also an online multiplayer option, which is also great. I just don't play it that much because I get schooled from a lack of experience, hahah... Anyways, I highly recommend this purchase to anyone who enjoys FPS games.

We all know PS3 has set a new benchmark for graphics, and we all know that COD in general is one of the best shooter series out there. We also know that even at $60.00 this game is seriously under-priced for the work that went into it. My favorite feature is the multiplayer. The experience points, the unlockables; it all just works. Being able to customize your weapons, and add multiple attributes was a stroke of genius. If you have a PS3 but don't have this game- get it, and play it as much as possible. If you don't have a PS3- get one, and then get this game so you can play it as much as possible. If Sony never made another PS3 title is wouldn't phase me a bit. COD 4 is the game of the year, decade, century, millenium, whatever you want- it's that good!

This is the absolute best game in the Call of Duty Series. One of the best parts is how the game integrates modern weapons and vehicles like the Javelin and the abrams tank. And the A.I is amazing, these guys are so smart it's unbelievable. And the game is extremely intense the nuclear explosion scene is one of the best parts. One of the only problems with the game is that your enemies throw so many grenades. it can get annoying sometimes but this is not a huge problem. This game is better than any movie i have ever seen. I can't say anything about the multiplayer but i hear that it is great. Overall this is the best military FPS i have ever played. It really showcases the power of the PS3. (And probably the Xbox 360 too)

I started out playing this game in campaign mode which is 1 player. The graphics and movement of people is just as realistic as I've seen in a war/action type of game. The best and most popular part of this game is when you go online and start playing with others around the world. You start talking to your teammates and learning how to be a quicker and more efficient shooter. You can rank up continuously. It would take forever to get to the last ranking. I'm talking a year or so unless you play for 14+ hours per day. You can also invite friends into a private match where you can make some additional rules to the gameplay. I've really enjoyed playing this game and will be one that I hold onto for a long time.

Call of Duty 4 is one of, if not THE, best game I have ever played. The storyline is fantastic with tons of different opportunities to use different weapons. But what really makes this game is the online play. Without a doubt it is the best online game! You work your way up through the ranks getting different weapons along the way and just having a great time. There are tons of different types of games you can play from a deathmatch to a free-for-all to capture the flag and many many more. If you even remotly like sniping people with a huge gun then you will fall in love with this game. I wish i could give it more stars, 10 out of 10, 50 out of 50, I just love it and you should buy it as soon as possible

i literally play COD4 from the moment i step into my room till its time for me to go to bed to get up in the morning lol. the online play is intense, and seems to always be active. the storyline is insane...your playing as a USMC and a SAS Soldier. the story mode includes sneaky missions, fast paced missions, amazing graphics, and an ending that will have you preordering Call Of Duty :: Modern Warfare 2 before preordering is even an option! i cant wait till the next one comes out, ahhh!!!!! if you have this game and your inlove with it like i am, and you HAVENT recommended it to a friend, you might want to get on that. ive fought with my friend for him to buy it, and now hes hooked aswell....

Despite the campaign being too short, (about 6 hours and even moving up the difficulty only makes more enemies appear and makes them more intelligent,) and the delay in multiplayer staging, (sometimes twenty minutes or more,) this is the best 1st person shooter to date. Multiplayer is really deep with difficult level ups and challenges to gain more XP. "Create a Class" allows players to customize the equipment they want to enter battle with. Even if you're just starting your character build, though, the gameplay keeps it very fair, yet challenging. Airstrike and chopper support is a great twist. Multiplayer also allows you to invite friends to join your party which is the ultimate in strategy creation. Synchronized mic'ing, too, so only your particular team can hear each other, unless someone is eavesdropping... [505] Clan Tag! Challenge us! Modern weapons is a big plus. Previously the COD franchises were set in the past. Weapons modifications and player "perks" allow everyone to find that perfect kill combo. Once you complete the game, bonus play is an option. You can replay levels and gain points for kills, time spent, lives left; which is fun. Also, i think there is something about replaying the game with cheats, but after I beat the game, I only play the multiplayer now. Just as a point of reference, I recently bought Assassin's Creed, too and have played it ONCE. I can't put COD4 down. Great game all-in-all. This is by far the single best game I've come across for any of the Playstation Consoles, even the almighty GTA series; although a different genre. This is an ever changing game for online play, with huge maps, a ton of options for game types, great rank advancement, realistic weaponry, and great graphics. I wish they were in 1080 and not 720, but once you play and see the amount of info being processed you'll see why they didn't! The single player campaign is awesome, although a little short. Very realistic AI, weapons, and storyline. Accurate foreign languages (Russian and Arabic) add to the overall experience. THIS GAME IS A MUST HAVE for any fan of a first person shooter!

rarely is a fps this great... not since goldeneye and counterstrike has a game been so well built arsenal is extensive, custom class, intense single player, more intense multiplayer, level detail, character models, contact systems, no odd bounding boxes, settings from newb through pro, great storyline, environmental physics (wind, rain, snow, radiation) special bonuses (UAV, airstrike, air support) full (and accurate) ranking system, intelligent AI... the list goes on. this game is amazing. fps needed to get away from WWII and infinity ward finally did and did it right dont be mislead by COD3 it wasnt even the same company. easily the finest fps in recent years

I've had this game for about a week and its still has not left the ps3. I was hooked on MOH heroes 2 for the Wii, but since playing COD4, I don't think I will ever go back to playing MOH. Like alot of people have been saying, the story mode is short. The big draw for the game is playing online. Only con about online is that you have to unlock all the different ways to play. When you first start out you can only play team deathmatch and free-for-all. Once you get to level 6 you can play alot more ways. Leveling up is a nice touch at first its pretty fast, but once you hit about level 22 it takes a little longer. Over all, I have not played a better game.

One word...WOW!! If you have a ps3 now is your great option to get this game. I absolutely fell in love with it. Its far more superior than its prequels. The graphics are the best ive seen in a game, and this is indeed a halo killer. Sometimes you just wanna watch the game instead of playing it because of its top notch graphics. The online is just great. You will get addicted really quickly. Its just really fun. For me its the best online game out now. The story was great i thought, but if they would just make the campaign longer than this game would be perfect. But who cares about the campaign seriously the online is everything we need in a game.

Call of Duty 4 is a great shooter. The single player campaign is awesome, and a blast to play through. It really immerses you, as you believe you are taking the half mile sniper shot in one level or storming the ship in another level. The only bad thing I can say about the single player is that it only takes 9-10 hours to play through, which is considered "short" now a days. However, I had fun playing through it. Call of Duty 4's real value comes from the multiplayer. With over 12 game modes, multiple maps, customizable weapons, challenges to complete and an all new to the series "create a class", you'll be playing over and over again.

This is the best purchase i have made to date! The story flows and was very well thought out. I have found no glitches and thoroughly enjoyed the campaign. Especially the ingenuity and the variety of missions. Arcade mode lets you go back and play specific levels or the whole campaign with a time challenge. The online maps and game styles are inventive and provide hours and hours of fun (i bought the game in December and still have yet to finish the prestige modes). The graphics with an HDTV are absolutely astonishing. i really feel that this is one of the best first person shooters ever made. Five Stars and two thumbs up!

I have all Medal of Honor and Call Duty's 1,2 and 3 on PS2, I got PS3 and Call of Duty 4 for Christmas. There is no comparison at all PS3 and COD 4 beats all hands down. The Gameplay and Graphics are out of this world, The sounds are realistic to real battles. Online play is new to me, so when I say oh my god I may be a bit biased. The only down sides are that the game itself is too short, I have completed the single player already and have started again in Arcade Mode. As for the ending I was expecting something a bit better so was disapointed when I realized that was it. Overall though best game I have ever played
