Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is a great game for online multiplaying. There are a bunch of different game types that you can play against other people. The updated weapons and perks make it even more funner than the last ones. It gets addicting because you just want to keep leveling up.
The campaign mode wasn't too great though I think. It seemed to come to an abrupt end. I kinda got lost in the story too.
Special Ops are fun too because it gives new challenges to the game. It is also really cool how you can team up with other players in them.
Overall great game.

if you were a fan of the first modern warfare, then you'll love the second one. it's all about the multi-player. there are more perks and more weapons, it's easier to level up and there are plenty of customizing choices. the special ops missions are really fun to tackle with a friend.
the solo campaign is rather short, but fun. unfortunately, locating all of the intel pieces doesn't unlock anything as it did in the first modern warfare. still, this is a great game and worth picking up.

First, this is my ps3 debut, i had own a 360 for 2 years and half now, and just november 1st i got banned (so i couldnt test the online on this one) for being the so called pirate (i diserve it) so being my 3rd xbox (2 rrod, 1 baned) i decided to swith to the legal and with the so called ps3 which i didnt like.
So game talking the the game play is solid, the campaing is on of the best (so its cod4) but a little bit short, and the open end is good enogh for me
so multiplayer talking, i heard a lot of complains about psn and the lag and everything and i have to tell: that coming from a xbox live i noticed that the online features is lacking of matureness like chat options party talking etc. but the game itself runs greater than i thought, adding that im in buenos aires argentina and my internet connections is like 3mbs with 256upload wich allows me 2 yellow bars in american connections, thats enough to let me in mid-top table at the score.
So the regular american gamer should have at least 3 green or 4 solid green bars wich makes the 2-3 shot killpossible (i have to spend half of a mag from my m4 to kill because of the ping-latency) so i dont know what you people keep complaining about, cause if i can kill with the american connection you can double kill, so the whole opinion is that the multiplayer is really good (+it never crasshed on me)
the final part sticks with the special-ops wich is kinda fun but not that much + i got really frustrated when i couldnt kill 10 juggernauts with only explosives (at least in the 360 version cause in ps3 i dint even played the campaign) so if someone knows the trick on this please pm me on X-Stargaizer (ps3) or Stargaizer (xbox live)
overall about the graphics i have to add that they are pretty cool (it looks a little better on ps3 rather than the xbox both at 1080p) but they are not amazing i think the good fits well to this game
greetings

The game is great and IMHO it keeps the quality of COD4. Graphics and sound are the best, perfect for a 42” screen and a 5.1 sound system. I just completed the basic story and started playing online. The game system is pretty similar to that of COD4, so you will find it familiar. I liked the story, even when it is short, but not that bad, not different from the length of COD4, about 9 hours of playing (so don’t be surprised, you won’t find a bigger game here). For me, still worth the 60 bucks. I played from the beginning in difficult (I always do that) and I defeated without too much problems. Difficulty was ok, maybe a bit easier than COD4, but if you are an expert in COD4 it is not very unlikely that you would finish the game in about 5-7 hours. Some stages are too short and left you wishing for more, like at the very beginning with the big machine gun up in the humbee, shooting enemies for about 30 seconds and then to the floor, and then you saying “that’s all? I want more!!!”. Also I found some bugs that are not serious but ruins some of the effects of the game: dogs and enemies doing stupid thinks and getting stuck (you know, going back and forward very quickly), and aiming with the sight of a sniper rifle in the side of the target and the bullet hit the guy anywhere, and the opposite, aiming to the target and bullets don’t hit him. Continuity has some flaws, like your partner is coming after you and then he is waiting for you ahead (similar finding than killzone II, but not that bad). Even so, the game is well polished and the whole experience is quite intense. I have to admit that I miss the intense battles found in killzone II, I did not find that big and intense battles here.
The online is awesome, I can’t tell you too much about it because I am a pretty new player, but so far it is amazing.
So, I give the game a solid 5. It deserves a buy.

I know that a lot of people have complained about the campaign mode being too short, but this game is really about the multi-player experience. I played through the campaign on several difficulty levels, and I still found it to be fresh and challenging. The scenery is amazing, the enemy AI is formidable, and the voice acting is well done in comparison to COD 4 (any scenes with the Marines were brutal to listen to in COD 4 but Semper Fi nonetheless). However, the game really comes to life in the multiplayer modes.
Special Ops mode is a great excuse to sit down with a buddy and shoot up some bad guys for a few hours, and the objectives are interesting if not completely innovative. Online multiplayer is as good as I have seen it on any game I have played to date. The ranking/leveling up feature is enough to keep the most hardcore gamer occupied for quite a while if you like to have every upgrade or achievement possible. My only gripe is that I agree with others that there should be some system to discourage camping. Perhaps if a player sits idle for long enough, their XP should be reduced for every kill. I do see how this is a working strategy for some, but not all players appreciate it.
The list of different playing modes is excellent, and the clan system is good, but again not innovative. Weapons are diverse and each has its own strengths and weaknesses. Even the most veteran players aren't unstoppable if you pick the right combination of weapons to stop them. I do agree though that if you run and gun through the whole thing you will feel the sting of death quite often (as I do). Unless you object to violent videogames or shooters in general, this game has something for every action fan. I don't usually write reviews of videogames, so this one is quite special for me. I haven't been able to stop playing since I bought it!!

Modern Warfare 2 is amazing. The campaign is absolutely phenomenal. I could play almost any level again and enjoy it whereas on CoD4 I finished the campaign and that was it. Not that thrilling.
The Spec Ops mode is fun to do when you have a friend over and can offer a challenge at times.
Multiplayer however, is overall a great gaming experience. It is a lot more difficult than CoD4 and it helps a person get better and find special tactics on maps. The guns are overall great. The point system is awesome. So many different ways to rank up and also enjoy the game. The maps are either amazing or bad in my opinion. But thats just my personal preference yours might be different, but the spawn system is terrible. Half of the time I see myself re-spawn when I die in a Team Deathmatch Game. Also, since I'm more of a sniper player in shooters, the snipers could be much better. The sniper rifles in a regular game do not get a kill unless the shot is to the upper chest/head, and at times that shot can be difficult. But it is still strange when one of the worlds most powerful guns(the .50 cal) does not kill to a shot to the stomach....
Overall it's a great game. I'd recommend it to any casual or hardcore gamer.

Modern Warfare 2 is a great game, I have it for my ps3. the one bad thing about it is that if you are playing online it lags up and sometimes kicks you out of the party that you are in. The single player is good, there is one level where you are among terrorists and you kill innocent people. You can choose to skip that round if you want. If you are new to these games, I would suggest waiting until November 9, that is when Call of Duty Black Ops comes out. So, if you are new, there is a setting where you can get used to online play, plus the story mode will be good too.

This is a great game that has been a very big deal to all FPS gamers. What makes COD: MD2 an awesome game? Well, the previous game had a very detailed and interesting storyline. Also online gameplay is major, as leveling up alows you to have a better gameplay experience.
This game adds on to the story, revealing much more. Not only that, but you can actually see the main character from the previous game, "Soap" MacTavish. Online gameplay has had major upgrades, making the game an excellent choice for the PS3 and FPS fans.
However there are some cons to the game. Campaign has been shorten in order to improve online gameplay. Online is very good, however a campaign is very critical in a game.
This is, again, astounding game and I highly recommend you purchase this game.

It is the best of all of the Call of Duty series wrapped into one. Tons of un-lockable content. Excellent graphics! Infinity Ward did a excellent job on recreating the war experience. The campaign is on the short side but if you have online access that is where the beef of this game lies. It is a great war game and no one actually gets hurt except for their prides in online matches. If you are new to the series it's not a bad place to jump in but be warned online players will show no mercy for newcomers so you may want to run through the campaign first to get your feet under you.

A great game, but the greatest part of the game is the online play, IW didn´t put all their effor on the campaing, it is still the best shooters game i ever played.
Other little problem might be the enormous amount of gliches given online (campaing too).

I got this game when it first came out and to be honest, i only got it because of all the hype it was making. When i first played i decided to run through the campign on veteran to get a little practice for when i play online. May this game blew me away. The story line has great cut scenes as well as in-game action that will keep you hooked. The multiplayer offers hours of fun with your friends and many around the world. Overall one of the best, if not the best FPS out there on the market. Definately would recommend many going to get themselves a copy.

A sequel that matches its predecessor....

After the huge critical and commercial success of CoD 4: Modern Warfare, there was bound to be a sequel sooner rather than later. After Treyarch did their story the year after, Infinity Ward came back with a vengeance with another classic game.
After defeating Zakhaev, his followers seized Russia, making him a martyr and committing acts of terrorism in the name of revenge against the West. The story then splits in two: the first following a US Army Ranger PFC Allen, the second following "Roach", Task Force 141 member along with "Soap" and Cpt. Price. Allen is infiltrating the ultranationalists to stop their new leader, while "Roach" and his squad infiltrate a Russian military base to retrieve an American ACS from a fallen satellite.
Unfortunately, tragedy strikes, tables are turned and warfare gets modern-er when Russia stages a full-scale attack on the US east coast, and will take the military know-how and ingenuity to bring an end to the bloodshed.
Coming off the heels of the first game, I was afraid that 2 years was too soon to release a follow of equal, if not superior, follow-up to a GOTY classic. This game brings a fun, if short, campaign mode, terrific visuals, sound that is amazing, tight controls and all around fun time. The multiplayer is the main reason to purchase this game, and every CoD game, really.
The maps are awesome throughout, with a few classic standouts that are still amazing after 7 years since it was released. The classic modes are back, with (Of course...) Deathmatch being the best and most frantic fun to be had. The DLC is really fantastic as well with more maps and weapons to add hours of fun to your multiplayer game. The only thing I miss is WoW's Zombies. I wonder if that will ever come back...?
Overall, a fantastic game that is an absolute must on any system you can get it on, even on the Wii and DS! Its that good and comes highly recommended.

I don't think the game lived up to its hype. The Special Ops tasks are ok. I'm not a big fan of the snowmobile task since it's pretty much like any other downhill game. Playing online is horrible. I hate how they switch servers when the host quits and how long it takes to connect with others. They should add more servers and update them. The storyline is great but campaign was beaten under 6 hours. Overall, it's still a great game but I was expecting more. I'll just play this and Call of Duty: World at War for a while.

(TO SHORT) I just want to start off and say that I am surprised that not a lot of people are commenting about how short the campaign is and how the ending is very lackluster. Also, there is no real story. The story feels all over the place, not real consice and has no depth. It took me a little over 5 hours to beat the game and not rushing through it. The game feels very dumbed down and you never get overwhelmed by the enemy like the previous installment.
(TO SWEET) Let's get to the positives. The BIG thing that I do like about the game is the Brutality of Enemy. They do not care about anyone or anything except completing their objectives anyway possible. Another thing that they do wonderful is get you emotionally involved with the locations that they use.
I like the Multiplayer Maps and how they are laid out compared to the last Modern Warfare and the different things you can do in Customize Class. The maps make you feel that you can roam freely and open and the graphics are spot on. Completely get immersed in you surroundings. With the Customizing Class which allows you to pair two regular weapons as opposed to one regular weapon and a sidearm is a much needed improvement.
(TO OVERHYPED) All in all, this is a good game but hailing it as the Best Game of the year is probably going a little over board. I feel that there wasn't enough depth or anything really new to get all of this attention/hype

there isn't much to say that hasn't been already said. i can just extend the great reviews that have been made for this really awesome game. when u first start, u will probably play the campaign first. the campaign very short. only 5 hours or so. but ever mission is spectacular. each mission has that one moment were u say wow. after the campaign u will probably play online. if u have played the first modern warfare's online then ur expectations are high. mw2's online exceeds ur expectations by a landslide. the rpg leveling up and attachments has been upgraded to the best length. because of this the new online is even more addicting than modern warfare 1. do urself a favor and buy this game.

Overall, if you're looking for a great FPS to keep things fresh, this is your game. I honestly don't think it is as good as previous FPS's that were released earlier this year or past years like Killzone 2 or Resistance 2, but it is still a definite buy. Truly, a definitive multiplayer experience at its core, as well as a great effort by Infinity Ward to nail down their new Spec-Ops modes which are just incredible and some pretty exhilarating missions as well. The graphics are flat out great, for the most part. The gameplay is the same as other COD games, so no changes there. Weapons are satisfying to fire, and use. Online modes like Team Deathmatch, Domination, etc. are also pretty strong. If there was actually a real complaint about Modern Warfare 2, it would definitely be the campaign mode. Don't get me wrong, it has some great cinematic moments and can be fun at times, but it just feels off, as does the story itself.
Visuals- 9.5/10
Gameplay- 9.1/10
Online- 9.5/10
Fun- 8.8/10
Overall- 9.1/10

I was a big fan of COD4 and never even got to play COD WOW b/c I was still playing COD4 when WOW came out. When I heard COD MWF2 was coming out, I refrained from playing WOW to wait for MWF2. They def added features that should have been in COD4. Having the ability to join your friends game was such a must. I remember trying to coordinate w/my friends on COD4 and it was a pain! Though I'm not sure if it's an option but when you're playing w/your buddies, you end up on different sides randomly. It would be nice to keep everyone in your party on the same team. But not a big deal.
But about the game, I love most of the maps except for one or two. I hope developers will provide even better maps in months to come. The additional maps that were avail for COD4 weren't so good IMO.
I love pretty much everything about this game, graphics, game play, weapon selections, the perks, custom kill streaks, challenges, etc are on point. And I'm just referencing ONLINE play. I honestly haven't played a campaign on a FPS since Resistance. I've played Special Ops on MWF2 and that's pretty fun too!
Best FPS I've played to date. 3 weeks in release and I have 1 day, 16 hrs of online time. SAD yes but oh SO fun!
