This is basically the originally modern warfare upgraded for today's time. Campaign is amazing, graphics are insane. I will say there aren't as many set piece moments as the original 3 modern warfare but theres more mw2 airport type moments toned down a little. If you are sensitive (which too many people are today) do not play the campaign. If you can separate a video game from reality it's a must play. Multiplayer is my favorite out of all the cod's but it does need better maps. I haven't tried spec ops yet but I heard goog things. This is a must buy fps.

A revisit to the best CoD game we've ever had

Best CoD game since MW2 / Black Ops 2. The campaign re-visits a lot of classic Modern Warfare themed missions - stealth, heavy gunfights, beautifully written scripts that CoD has been missing for close to 10 years now. The MP was the same old CoD, but with new ,mechanics and expertly crafted maps bringing back the feel of 2007's best selling MW game. Infinity Ward nailed it, and I hope we see more. The addition of Warzone, the free to play battle royale sweetens the pot and re-playability even more!

I really enjoyed this game. I'm glad they brought it back to present time. COD MW was one of my favorite. I enjoyed the campaign and multiplayer as well. The campaign relates to current events and puts you in those soldier footsteps. It's so real and a good story. The online play is great only that they need to fix the spawn points. I'm sure that will happen and the fact that they promised no paid maps really makes me give this game 5 stars. I love infinity wars and there games are always great. Oh and captain price is a freaking cool in this game

I loved the Modern Warfare Trilogy! The recent Call of Duty games have not been great, except for WWII. This game is exactly what every COD game should be. The gameplay is improved significantly with new features. The story is very well-written and paced. Spec Ops mode is so much better with 4 players rather than 2 like the previous modern warfare games! I believe you will not be disappointed if you played and enjoyed the MW trilogy!

I love this game!! I fell away from the franchise after the lame space wall walking craziness. Frankly I was uninterested in getting this one until my coworker came and and spent 20 minutes telling me how awesome this one was and how it was all the things we loved back in the day with Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare.
He did not exaggerate! Great job COD!!! Nice to see it back on track!
Beautiful graphics, incredible detail and dynamic environments. Well balanced weapons and maps....GET THIS GAME if you love COD!!!

A Good Game Hidden in a Fantastic One

Modern Warfare is a great package that comes very close to being one of the all-time greats in the Call of Duty echelon, but poor decisions and incomplete design mar the final package.
CAMPAIGN: The main campaign for Modern Warfare is a HBO-esque adventure that follows three main characters as they strive to retrieve stolen weaponized gas that threatens the world. The story itself is nothing truly awe inspiring, taking many story beats from modern military films, but it is in its presentation that it truly shines. The campaign does a fantastic job with transitions between the briefing and the when you gain control. The sound design is truly amazing along with the gorgeous visuals. This is a game you want to play in 4K and HDR. While the campaign struggles to truly touch on and say something meaningful about some modern-day political topics and concerns, there is enough here that will make the campaign interesting enough for you to play until completion. It's a trip well worth playing through, and you'll experience some truly amazing moments throughout its relatively short runtime.
MULTIPLAYER: This is the main entree to most people who will buy this game. Before diving in, I'd like the explore the mechanics and core gameplay of the game. In short, it's fantastic. The guns all feel like they have a heft to them that makes shooting a absolutely joy. This paired with the fantastic sound design make for some of the most effective and immersive gunplay I've experienced in modern military games to date.
There are many new modes that have been implemented in the latest iteration of COD. The most intriguing and well-designed one is gun fight, a 2v2 game mode where everyone starts out with the exact same loadout and battle it out--the first to five wins, wins. This is where the strength of Modern Warfare shines.
Another new mode is Ground War; this mode has 64 players with new massive maps. If you've played Battlefield's conquest mode, this is Modern Warfare's take on it. Unfortunately, it plays like a poor-mans Battlefield. While some may revel in the chaos and sheer amount of players, the kill streaks, unbalanced vehicles, and mediocre map design made it a disappointing experience. If you want to a modern military shooter with massive maps, go back to play Battlefield 4, because this just isn't it.
The maps. Oh yes, the maps. It is exceedingly disappointing that with such strong core mechanics and amazing gunplay, the way the maps are designed make for a poor experience. There is an abundance of campers in every single match; the lighting in this game, while gorgeous for campaign and to look at, is terrible in practice for multiplayer. The player visibility is also terrible--if you've played Battlefield V, you may know a thing or two about why player visibility matters. You'll often find yourself dying to people you simply cannot see. This strips away the balance of the game. Many matches will run up to the end of the time limit because of how many people will be sitting in corners, making for a very slow and unfun experience. The spawning system in the game is also pretty poor. The game also employs a system called Skill-Based Match Making; while some may praise its implementation, it makes for a incredibly abrasive experience. If you have friends that you'd like to play with, you better hope that our skill levels are relatively the same or you'll end up in matches that are either completely against you or for you. The system also strips the game of its variety as you'll constantly be playing against people who are equally if not better than you, essentialy making it near impossible to use less-developed guns or less optimal builds. It's disappointing because the mechanics and gameplay itself is so addicting, but the map design and questionable balance completely hinder what could've been a slam dunk,
SPEC OPS: The less said, the better.
Modern Warfare is well worth your time, especially in regards with the campaign. If you're also looking for a game to play with friends, this one is it. Not only can you play cross platform with every platform, the splitscreen runs exceedingly well and barely has any hitches (compared to the abysmal performance in Black Ops 4). While the campaign and gun fight mode showcase the best of what Modern Warfare has to offer, other factors continually keep the game from rising up to the grand standards the series has set with games such as COD4, Modern Warfare 2, and Black Ops 1.

I've been playing COD for a long time and lately the games haven't wowed me much and I started to grow tired of them. This entry has been better than some of the previous ones and I've actually enjoyed playing it. I never play the campaigns so I can't speak too much on that. I spend all of my time in multiplayer. The controls are tight as always and gameplay is good. It was also nice to play on some of the old maps from other CODs. You're always going to have your campers and laggers, but other than that I don't have many complaints. I tried Warzone a few times and really can't get into it. The only battle Royale game I've enjoyed is H1Z1. I hate fortnite and didn't care for Apex legends.

GIFTING NOTE **Pretty Huge Download is Mandatory even if you buy the physical disc version-before you can play anything th campaign, multiplayer, warzone-ALL of it. If your DL Speed isn't pretty fast just know you need a night or day before this will be playable in case giving this a a gift-disappoint a kid possibly**. otherwise-graphics are unbelievable and multiplayer. (not war zone) is huge with great diversity of quick play modes..Awesome game-best COD I've seen by far.

I was getting burned out with Call of Duty. It seemed like it was the same crap over and over. I have to say I am very pleased with the game so far. There are a variety of different games modes and the maps are a lot of fun. All in all I think the developers did a great job with this game. I just wish you didn’t have to pay for the battle pass. If you play enough it’s only a one time investment as you can earn enough COD points through leveling up the tiers to buy the next one.

I would only recommend if you like to play online. Campaign is solid, but not the main draw of the game. The maps for the most part are good and they continue to add more periodically. The main grip people have is camping. This game got rid of the more run and gun game style and went back to more of its roots. So this is not new for those who’ve played the series from the beginning. It can get aggravating at times due to there really is not a true ranking system skill wise, but this has always been the case with COD. Sometimes you’re going to get wrecked, especially in the beginning. I would recommend this over warzone as I’m not a huge fan of battle Royale.

Pretty decent game overall I’d like to just point out that the gun sounds are absolutely amazing. The graphics are magnificent and the new design of the game is really astounding. For gamers that like to play fast paced FPS but also like strategic fps, I highly recommend this game. So far, in my opinion the best COD game ever. The awesome thing is now you can controls tanks and the new ground war mode is historical in COD, never have I seen so many people go face to face in a round of domination ever in COD. The new attachments are amazing, and the pros and cons of each individual attachment really helps if you don’t know what to put on your m4a1 or your .50 gs, regardless what gun, this new update has been really helpful to me. The new field upgrade update allows you to activate a mini kill streak that recharged over time, some field upgrades include trophy system, EMP drones, stopping power rounds, and many more. The new updates in this game are massive and really awesome. However, Though this game may seem like a utopia for gamers so far, the game will likely be full of trash talkers, if not, campers and people that are AFK, but this will most likely be found in any FPS games so there isn’t much cons to pull this game down, regardless of any cons actually, because COD modern warfare still has many pros to support the fact that this game deserves a 9.8/10 overall. However I am surprised at the fact that there is not prestige yet and I hope there will be one in further update. For gamers that like a mix of fast paced FPS and games like Rainbow six, COD modern warfare is a perfect mix of both. I hope this has been helpful for y’all.

Modern Warfare is insanity the last COD I played was Black Ops 3 which I loved; however, this reminds me of the old Modern Warfare back in 07 I believe it was but with a lot more cool stuff. I am still getting use to all the new perks and online games available but I have to say it is amazing especially the Campaign. The best COD made was the old version in my opinion, this one brings me back on time. absolutely one of the best game by far a master piece!!!

This is the COD original COD players have been waiting for: just good old fashioned running and finning - no robots, jet packs or teleporting. Amazing visuals and sound. Stellar campaign and multiplayer. Only real gripe is the current multiplayer maps encourage campers. There are a lot of campers in this game’s online multiplayer, unfortunately. Hopefully this will champagne as people get used to the maps. Overall impressed and have a reignited interest in COD.

This is probably one of the better call of duty games in the franchise. Infinity Ward really redeemed theirselves with this one. The overall gameplay, immersive sound, multiplayer, and even the campaign are all fantastic. If you love FPS games, this is a must buy. I can’t forget to mention Call of Duty’s own take on the battle royale game mode Warzone. It is absolutely epic and is easily the hottest thing to be playing right now.

Feels a bit like the same ole same ole cod, but still I am enjoying it a lot. It feels good to be back to good ole boots on the ground combat. Also happy to see them bring a campaign mode back to the mix. I thought that this years COD would feel drastically different than others of the past but unfortunately it’s more of the same for me. Sure this game has its own feel and it’s own look compared to the others, but IMO it’s just more of the same. Having said that I still enjoy it a great deal. I’ve always been a major fan of all COD games and I have purchased every one since the original MW. If you are a COD fan then of course you have to get this.

I have been a fan of Call of Duty since I can remember them bringing games out. They really stepped up their game on the next gen consoles and the campaign and multiplayer modes have been absolute game changers. This version is no different. The graphics, the gameplay, the story, everything seems to have been revamped and it just is so smooth. I love playing all modes of this game. If you are on the fence about getting it, you won’t regret it.

This past year’s Call of Duty has been one of their best. The battle royale, battle pass, & constant non-DLC updates have been great. I like how you can earn COD points from the battle pass so it ends up paying for itself. The multiplayer is smooth with excellent maps and customizations. Finishing moves are cool and being able to use your created classes in the battle royale is a new and appreciated feature.

I would say that recently I've fallen off the Call of Duty cycle of games with their last couple of releases, however, this game has re started my interest in call of duty. The campaign tells a great story with unique gameplay elements and the multiplayer is always engaging with new modes and updates. Co-op however is a little lack luster but the other parts of the game definitely make up for it. Very satisfied!

This game is a huge improvement from previous years. The graphics, the game flow and overall feel of the game is vastly greater than COD releases the past few years. The campaign is very smooth, just hoped it would be a bit longer but call of duty isnt really known for the campaign. Multiplayer is a huge improvement from the past with different modes, better options to Load out the weapons and overall feel. Awesome game.
