The Sharper Image Calming Heat Massaging Flexi Wrap is easy to use and can help soothe sore muscles and joints.
Pros:
* Versatile: It can be applied to multiple areas of the body such as the wrist, forearm, elbow, knee, ankle, or foot. I have chronic wrist pain/stiffness/soreness, so I have been primarily using it on this joint. I found it easy to wrap my wrist using only one hand.
* Multiple heat settings: There are 3 different heat settings to choose from - low (approx 97F), medium (approx 127F), and high (approx 135F). There are representative colors for each temperature (green, blue, red respectively) which can be easily toggled between using the flame button. I have been using the medium heat setting and have found it effective.
* Auto shut-off: A nice safety feature in case you forget to turn it off.
* Long cord: It comes with a 9 ft cord so you can plug it in and relax on the couch or in a chair away from an outlet.
* Snug fit: The Velcro on both ends is very strong and keeps the wrap from falling or loosening.
* Quality fabric: The fabric is soft and smooth.
Cons:
* Massaging vibrations: There are 3 different settings to choose from - low, medium, and high speed. Even on the highest setting the massaging function is disappointing.
Overall, the Sharper Image Calming Heat Massaging Flexi Wrap is a great option for those with chronic pain/stiffness/soreness. The heating component works great, especially given its flexible form factor. The massaging component is kind of a gimmick, but I would overall recommend it just for the versatility, ease of use, and heating function.

Such A Relief!

This is one of those products that I thought was kind of a cool idea but had my doubts as to how well it would work. What makes this different than say a heat gel or a heated rice bag for those sore elbows and knees?
Well I have an answer for you! I have pretty bad tennis elbow I have been battling in my right elbow. It’s really lame because doc said to rest it but its been a few months and I like being active! I had been rubbing some stinky heat/ice topical gels which do help but really smell bad and get all over everything. I also have been taking some anti inflammatories but those are not immediate relief and to date do help dull the pain but do not eliminate the my pain. I also have done all the kinetic tape (even took a class) and it does help but ever so slightly. Then I tried the Sharper Imagine “Calming Heat Flexi Wrap”. It’s a long name to be sure but it’s also long on the awesome results!
When I first put the Flexi-wrap on it felt like any other joint wrap…snug and supportive. There is a lot of studies just on wraps and kinetic tape that indicate relief from pain with just that. I like the weighted nature of it as well. The weight helps stabilize the body part which lets it relax (in my case the elbow). Then I turned on the heat and I was impressed with both how quick it heated up and how ,due to the “wrapping nature” the heat enveloped and penetrated my elbow! It was a deep heat that combined with the slight compression of the wrap really did just what they said…it produced a “calming” or very relaxed comfort in my elbow. Then I selected the vibration… it was novel at first and I was not sure if it was really adding that much more to the relief I was getting on my elbow until after the 10 minutes or so of the session was over.
After I took it off my elbow did not have any pain. To be Frank, I was kinda of shocked. It almost felt “desensitized” for lack of a better word. The effect was somewhat temporary and the next day after the gym, I had a little discomfort which I guess is my new normal. But I would have to say without a doubt my elbow is better than it had been before the calming wrap after a few weeks of using the Flexi Wrap. regardless of my long term outcome the immediate relief I experience with the Flexi-wrap is amazing. It should be noted there are three settings on both the heat and the vibration. I like the highest level on both!
The combination of the compression, heat AND vibration is the key. It gives me more relief that just a heated pad as those do not envelope or compress my elbow. It also gives me more relief than just a messaging pulse device because it is on a joint which is tuff and it’s all natural with no drugs which I really like. Plus…no smelly gels!
The Flexi-wrap is not a cure all, but it is an amazing addition to my post exercise self care that truly makes a difference in my recovery and overall comfort. What else could one ask for.
I’m going to have to get another one so I can do both knees or elbows or calves at the same time!
Awesome product that really delivers!! Highly recommend!

The Sharper Image Flexi Wrap seems to do exactly what it says it will. The wrap is 39 inches long and will wrap around the knee, wrist, arm, leg, neck or any body part that can be wrapped. I can get it all the way around my torso and heat my back - as long as I don't mind heating my front at the same time. The length can be a pro and a con. It’s large enough to accommodate larger body parts, but if the area needing the heat is small, you might end up heating more body area than needs heating.
I used it on my knee and on my wrist. I have a small wrist and so it wrapped from my wrist to my elbow. Massage (vibrate) and heat have 3 settings each - low, medium and high. The vibrations automatically shut off after 15 minutes. I’m not sure why that is, since the heat remains on for 2 hours before shutting off. The highest heat temperature was too hot for me. I would prefer a cooler first temperature setting and then the current “low” and “medium” settings - especially when using it for an hour or longer. On medium heat I was sweating after an hour because it warmed me up that much. But on a cold night under a blanket, the heat felt really good.
The wrap isn’t portable and requires staying within 9 feet of an electrical outlet. That allows for some mobility, but is best used when planning on sitting still for a while. It doesn’t charge up a battery for future use like I thought it might.
There were a few things I didn’t like about it. For one, the Velcro thumb hole is scratchy. I don’t know how to make Velcro un-scratchy, but a better design would be a thumb hole without the Velcro, then a separate Velcro patch at the same end. The thumb hole is a good idea when wrapping the wrist, but doesn’t have to be made of Velcro. The Velcro at that end is only needed when wrapping something other than a wrist.
I couldn’t use the massage (vibrate) mode for more than 5 minutes. It didn’t feel like a massage at all - more like a tickle that made me itch.
The other annoying thing was the attached Danger and care instruction tags at the thumb hole end. They would constantly get in the way. The information on the tags is printed in the instruction booklet, so unless it’s illegal to do so, they should be left off the wrap itself.

THE BREAKDOWN:
This calming heat – flexi wrap is a great addition to anyone’s toolbox that suffers from sore muscles or joints. The really great thing about this wrap is that you can wrap it around your arm, leg, neck or shoulder. This wrap has both heat and message capabilities. There are three setting for heat and three setting for message. Each setting is indicated by the light color: low is green, medium is blue and high is red. It is straightforward and simple to use. It is very soft and feels very comfortable. One downfall is that the cover cannot be removed for cleaning.
PRO’s:
- Auto heat shutoff after 2 hours
- Auto message shutoff after 15 minutes
- Colored light indicators of what level of heat and message you are on
- flexible to wrap around arms, legs, neck or shoulders
CON’s:
-The cover is not removable so that you can wash it.
SUMMARY:
Overall, this product worked as intended, and I would recommend this to a friend if they are in the market for device like this.

The Sharper Image FlexiWrap, model CHFW-3, is a heat massaging wrap, and a great accessory to our back heating pad. Being able to wrap it around an arm, leg, or shoulder provides great release for pinpointing areas of pain and soreness. It’s great for my arms after an afternoon of chopping wood. I took one star off since the cover can not be removed for cleaning.
Features
• Automatic heat auto-off after 2 hours
• Automatic vibration auto-off after 15 minutes
• Velcro ends for a secure fit
• Individual low, medium, and high settings for heat and/or vibration
• LED light in the button indicates the current setting with green (low), blue (medium), and red (high)

This is more of a smaller, targeted device. It is a small wrap like device that is about 2.5ft long. It has heat and massaging in it, you can operate either or both at the same time.
It is very mild in it’s heat and massaging. It is not strong or hot in it’s delivery of those features. It seems well made with good stitching and material and seems to be able to withstand most use and wrapping around knee, shoulder, etc.
Overall, I was not overly impressed with it. If you are older or not really wanting a strong massage or heat aspect, then this will work fine for you. If you want a stronger massage and especially a hotter heat, this is not the device for you.
I liked the device but it is not something that I would use much. I think my parents would use it more as it’s features are more compatible with what they are looking for.
I would only recommend it based on those criteria above.

The Calming Heat Flexi Wrap by Sharper Image, the Massaging, Weighted Customizable Wrap with therapeutic heat, at first blush and use, was not my vibe. However, after reading the user manual, which is needed in this case, and continually using over several times and areas of applications, definitely effected my point of view. .
The product description says that the therapeutic heat with relaxing massaging vibrations and targeted weighted pressure in a flexible, form-fitting is for soothing relief anywhere you need it. Well, if you do not have access to a plug in there that whole concept goes.
If you look at my picture with the tape measure, you will see that the messaging/heat part is only about 28" long. At first I wondered how much of a body could be wrapped up with that short length. I am a 5'7" woman of small to mediums size and if a larger woman or most men used this device I wonder if it would be long enough to cover the body area that they would need to wrap up. So, over many times of use. I have discovered that the user might have to simply dangle it or just place it over the area that they seek relief on and apply their body's pressure back against it.
For example, I noticed just today that I wanted to treat my left shoulder blade and I wrapped it cross wise under my left are and around my neck. I then elevated my bed and laid back against the wrap. Just by laying on the wrap intensified the massaging action and brought more warmth to the area.
I wonder if there would be a way to make this unit without an electrical plug in cord or to maybe make that cord longer so the user would not feel tethered to it. Like I previously said, there are 2 buttons at the end of the wrap and they each have 3 settings that are represented from green for the lowest, blue for the mid setting, and red for the highest setting. The user must hold the active button for at least 3 seconds to initiate the button's function. Then, you hit 1x for the lowest setting, 2x for the mid setting, and 3x for the highest one. I personally like the highest massaging and heat settings. In fact, the vibrating will automatically turn itself off after 15 minutes and the heat will automatically turn itself off after 2 hours.
While this is cost effective, but it may not cover enough area or be large enough to cover the area that the user wishes to treat. That is one of my issues with the Calming Wrap and then the fact that the user is tethered to a not so long electric cord that must provide the power for it to function. This item will truly be helpful once you figure out how to apply it.

The calming heat flexi-wrap was perfect for my shoulder after healing from an injury and was easy to wrap around shoulder. It has different heat levels and massaging levels. You can also turn off massager and just use the heat whenever you want. Easy to use. 3 levels of heat and massage. Great product!

so far, this has been wonderful for helping my wrist!! it took a few tries to get comfortable with wrapping it, because the cord can get in the way. but I love that the cord is nice and long and can unplug in the middle if needed. I've only had it for maybe a month so I can't speak about the longevity of the vibration or heat functions, but so far it has been very helpful! I wish the auto shutoff for the vibration was a little longer, and it would be great if it was a USB cord so I could plug it in more places. but since the cord is so long (which is great!), I just keep it plugged in by my bed and can use it comfortably at night. the lighted buttons are pretty bright in the dark but I just position it downward.

I was skeptical to get this but after using it I love it. Super easy to use & the power it has is amazing. Used it for about 2 hours no problems. It does have a timer where it will shut off after a while but I would just turn it back on. Wasn’t an inconvenience for me as I’m glad it can power itself off if I ever fell asleep using it!

Useful heat wrap

The Calming Heat Flexi Wrap by Sharper Image has heat and vibrating massage - that sounded wonderful to me! 3 heat settings and 3 speeds for the vibrating. I have arthritis in my thumbs and I was hoping I could wrap this securely around my thumb and hand. The pamphlet suggests putting a thumb through the hole in the Velcro ring so the wrap would be held in place. For me the Velcro ring is very uncomfortable against my skin, so I couldn’t get a firm fit. I also found because I couldn’t get a good fit, the wrap didn’t heat enough even on high. The massaging vibration feels nice, and I’m sure it increases circulation in the area.
The wrap is sufficiently long to allow me to comfortably and securely wrap around other aching parts of my body such as wrists, arms, ankles, legs, neck and wherever else I need it. With a secure fit, it works well. It is weighted with some sort of little beads inside the wrap which makes it even more comfortable to use. It also has auto shut-off which is a nice feature. I do wish it had an inline control for the heat/vibrating instead of placing that on the wrap. I had to be very careful when wrapping to not cover those buttons.
Overall, I’m quite pleased with this heat wrap. I enjoy it more than a normal heating pad and would recommend it for heat to treat pain in your extremities.

This is not exactly what I was expecting but it still serves it’s purpose. The number of times I’ve tried to wrap a heating pad around my arm and secure it as tight as I could with it’s cord is crazy. I love that this can be wrapped and has Velcro on both ends in order to secure itself. The three heat settings are great and typical of a heating pad. The massage setting, however, leaves a lot to be desired. It sounds like it’s vibrating but I feel no difference whether I have it on or off. I don’t know that there would be a way to improve it and it still have the same overall function but it’d be nice if it did. No matter it’s downfall, I’m glad I purchased it, I would purchase again, and I’d gift it also.

I was expecting a heating pad that covered the whole knee. This one is very narrow and would help a child more than an adult. I tried it out anyway and with the massage on high, I barely feel it. Also the high heat setting was just a little warm. I returned it. I wish I could find one that would cover the whole knee and actually have heat.

Some days work me out more than I would like; getting home with sore muscles is no fun. I needed something that would relax and loosen sore spots without a jarring percussive regimen. I was happy to discover how this flexi-wrap, the size of a small scarf, was able to soften tense muscles with a soft, soothing vibration and subtle heat. The unit was smaller than I expected, but looked like a soft plush wrap. It has 2 vibration points that resonate throughout the 2ft length. It's filled with little beads that help weigh it down a bit, but I suspect, help it distribute heat across the pad. There's a 2 button pad made of a soft, rubbery substance, to control the 3 heat and 3 massage intensities for up to 9 combinations. I start it on level 2 for both settings on my shoulder and wrap it around to target the shoulder blade, then I ease off to level 1 after a few minutes. I like how versatile it is and stays in place with the velcro ring.
I would've liked it to be a little wider and more weighted so it penetrates better. The cord is plenty long enough, cordless would be better so you could go about household chores with it on. It does a good job though so I feel comfortable recommending it.

The Calming Heat Flexi Wrap is a great product that I didn't realize how much I needed. It's really versatile to use on various parts of the body to provide both heat and vibration, along with just a little weight. I have a lingering elbow issue that was largely corrected in physical therapy, but still flares up, especially after the gym. I also have a painful, arthritic shooting pain in my wrist that I've never really found a great cure for. However, 15 minutes of this on full heat wrapped around my wrist did absolute wonders for me. It took care of it so thoroughly that I drifted off asleep for a few minutes (thankfully, the unit will turn itself off eventually automatically).
The overall product feels nice and is comfortable and easy to use/wear, and I am very impressed with how much relief I felt from it. There are 3 settings each for both heat and vibration, so you can easily figure out the combination that works best for you. Different body parts will need different things, of course: I found my wrist liked maximum heat, but my elbow responded better to mild heat and vibration. Highly recommend!

This device is ingenious! I experience leg pains near my knees every time the cold season is on. I usually would put some ointment on them to soothe the pain, but ointments and creams are yucky. Then comes this flexi wrap—it does calm the pain. It is so easy to use. I just plug wrap it around the area, and plug it in. The fabric on it is nice and soft and the buttons are a no-brainer too. It is so easy to operate that even if I use it routinely day-by-day, it is not a hassle. The heat and the massage it does is so soothing, I think this is my favorite winter device.
I recommend this for people who dislike those menthol adhesives and creams. This works for my pains caused by the cold weather. I think I’m buying my mom one.
