Nice Neck Warmer, Okay Massager

As someone with a herniated disc in my neck, being able to provide myself some relief is imperative at times, I was hoping this would do this trick but it doesn't check all the boxes. As a neck warmer, it is nice. I do wish that the heating element went as far as the edges of the fabric as I like and need the warmth at the nape of my neck, but it does not. I also felt as though I had to have this on overly tight in order to get the contact needed for relief and at times felt constricted for this reason. As a massager, this tool really just vibrates. I don't notice much of a difference besides the noise level and intensity of the vibration, sadly there is no difference when it comes to the relief provided. Overall I would say this is a nice inexpensive option for someone looking for a warming neck wrap, but if you're looking for a neck massager, I wouldn't say this will help much. I will also mention that the labels on this tool are in the most inconvenient place and are not removable without scissors, although this isn't a huge drawback it should be noted that a better place is needed for warning and other affixed labels, preferably a spot that doesn't complicate wear.

This Little Heating Pad is Fire!

I stare at my phone a lot, which means I’m staring down a lot and that results in neck pain, so when I saw this item pop up for review, I knew I’d be the perfect candidate for it. I’ll keep the review pretty simple, because this is a heating pad, not a gaming PC.
You’ll receive the item in a nice box with a power adapter and an extension piece in case you have an incredibly large neck. I didn’t have to use the extension strap, but it seems like it would work well to keep the heating pad secured around your neck.
The first thing I noticed was how long you have to press the actual buttons to get it to turn on. I actually thought the item was defective at first, but I was just being impatient. Press, hold and wait until one of the lights comes on. You’ll have to do the same for the other function as well. The heating pad has 3 heat settings and 3 vibration settings. You can also use them independently of each other and can completely turn off either function.
Overall, the pad functions fine, but I do wish it got a little hotter. The vibration function is actually pretty nice, and I love the fact that it uses USB, so I can connect it to a battery bank and run the heating pad off that. That makes it great to use on planes and in a car.
If you have neck pain, this is a nice little treat to help relieve your pain. It’s small, portable and folds up nicely for travel.

I had hoped for so much more

When I saw this advertised on tv I thought I had to have it, it looked much smaller & lighter than the big bulky neck & shoulder massager I have. I have degenerative discs in my neck & have a lot of pain so anything I can find to help it, I’ll give a try.
I hoped for so much more with this, I tried it for a week & the massaging doesn’t do anything, all it does is vibrate & it’s loud even on low, I find vibration to be annoying more than soothing. The heat feels great & gets actually quite hot. The buttons to change the heat & speed are on the side & hard to see which one you’re using. I didn’t notice anything as far as the weighted clay beads. My neck is very small & it doesn’t fit snugly, I have to hold it because the Velcro doesn’t adjust that small, an extender comes with it so if you have a larger neck you’ll be fine.
It is lightweight, the heat is good, the cord is super long & can be charged by usb or plug & the fabric is soft on the outside, not on the inside , seems like it should be reversed, and it automatically shuts off after 15 min. The massage is non existent so it’s basically a plug in thermacare patch.

Doesn’t get warm enough. And not powerful enough to be effective.

A nice portable option for a neck massager

The Sharper Image Calming Heat Massaging Neck Wrap provides a convenient source of heat and massage for sore necks. Its small size makes it easily portable, so you can take it along with you when you travel. Surprisingly, it includes a vibrating massage feature, despite its small size.
In the box you’ll find the unit, a power cable, a USB power plug, and fabric-covered neck extension. The unit is covered in soft grey fleece that is very comfortable. It has a simple set of buttons for controlling it, with separate buttons for heat and vibration. Both the heat and vibration can be set to low, medium or high intensity, and any combination of the two. In a package this small, don’t expect to get a deep tissue massage, but the vibrations are effective and soothing, The heat output is also good, but it’s important not to compare this to other units that are many times the size and price of this one.
Note that Sharper Image named this a neck wrap. Due to its size and shape, it is designed specifically for the back of the neck, from the base of the skull to the upper part of the shoulder blades. Yes, you can shift it around to the sides of the neck, but it may be a little less comfortable that way. There is a neck strap that clasps under the chin using Velcro, and a 3-inch extension for those with larger necks. Personally, I did not prefer having it tight around my neck. Instead, I liked keeping it open, with the sides hanging down. Your mileage may vary.
The controls are just above the neck strap, and this puts them in a bit of an awkward position. You’ll want to memorize their position, because you can’t see them while using the massager. I would have preferred that the controls be placed lower down, maybe even on the cord, so that I could more easily see them when I want to change a setting. Nonetheless, this is a minor quibble. I like that the unit is weighted, although it would be nice if they can find a way to add more weight in a future iteration. Both the heat and massage will automatically turn off after a period of time (heat: 2 hours, massage: 15 minutes), so you don’t have to worry about it running all night if you fall asleep with it on.
I like that they chose to use a USB cable to provide power. This gives more options for use when you don’t have access to a power outlet, but do have a spare powered USB port. Assuming your ports have enough power, you can even take this with you in the car. It’s a versatile product that’s easy to take with you wherever you go. It’s not going to take the place of a full-size Shiatzu massager, but there are plenty of times when something smaller like this is exactly what you need.

With conforming beads around a heating element, this is a great device. Right after it arrived, I had a muscle in my shoulder tighten up. This provided quick relief through the heat and massage combo. There are three setting for each, making it simple to select the right levels. Velcro holds it securely around your neck, and an extender means it will work for larger necks. I particularly like the USB cable that powers it. I was able to plug it directly into my laptop port for use while working.

This neck wrap is perfect for arthritis in my neck due to a car accident years ago. It heats and vibrates, and has 3 levels of each. I typically use high heat and low massage. It is comfortable - the material is soft. Brings great relief while watching tv, working on the computer or just relaxing. I use it almost daily.

The Neck Wrap is easy to use and has a nice long USB cable to get to your power source. The three settings for heat and massage are easy to toggle through with large enough buttons to find while on your neck. The heat is very comfortable and adequate. The vibrating massage function was just o.k. You can feel the beads vibrating against your neck, but I was expecting a little more for the massage than what you feel.
Overall, if you are looking for heat to loosen things up in your neck, this does provide that. The massaging portion may or may not be enough of what your looking for, but worth a look at this price point.

Comfortable heated massage neck wrap

This unit is to massage as well as provide heat to the neck area. There are 3 settings where for the massage portion it is more vibration which for the neck it does help. I primarily wanted this for the heat portion in which the heat it provides is very low. It does have 3 settings but I still felt the heat was approximately the same. I am assuming since this was designed for a neck it had to have lower setttings but I would recommend bumping the heat up and maybe look at a different massager than what was installed. It does work and I have been using but it could be a little better.

Better than physical therapy

I don’t think I could survive without this neck massager. I have a very labor intensive job and this is the only product that I’ve come across that helps with pain management enough so that I can sleep. That said, there are two issues I’ve run into when using this device: 1, the Velcro very quickly stops working so you’ll have to hold it in the position that suits your therapy, and 2, I’ve had 3 of these devices. Unfortunately it stops working after about 6 months or so of operation. Neither issue is so bad that as to preclude a recommendation. For me the pros vastly outweigh the cons.

This unit provides good warming levels to match the needs of your sore neck and upper back. It’s fairly lightweight and portable so you can take it with you as you need. The vibrating massage is OK but don’t expect it to penetrate deep. Overall, this is a good product for its purpose.

The first thing I noticed after taking this neck wrap out of the box is how long the usb cable is. It is a very generous length that makes it a lot easier to use in a recliner, couch, etc. The massage function is a calming vibration. It is strong enough to soothe and relax, but not so strong that it distracts me from watching tv. The heating element gets warm enough to ease muscle tension in my neck. Overall, I am happy with this neck wrap, and like using it at after a long day of working in front of my computer.

It’s nice and warming but doesn’t stay in place. I have to keep adjusting it. Also, it could be a lot wider to cover the neck area.

Product works well and is very relaxing. Customer Service at our local
Store was awful. Waited 25 minutes in car for curbside. Finally went inside only to wait another 20. My lunch break was spent waiting.
