In this future world, where biochemical weapons have changed the game, an unlucky few have their senses blended. They are gifted with abilities beyond what normal humans feel. They possess synesthesia. This makes them the perfect assassin. And a perfect target. Welcome to the new world. Welcome to the war. Head for the promised land -the promised land of amazing animated action. Canaan." I'm having a bit of a hard time coming up for a review of Canaan. I watched it. I enjoyed the majority of it. But there's really little that I can remember of it :/ The plot isn't that original. In fact, it feels way too similar to Noir. Canaan's parents were killed in a war in the Middle East and she's been raised by a soldier to become an assassin. But, he also raised another young woman/girl in the same role! What a twist, right!? I could already tell how most everything was going to end up just 2-3 episodes in. My review score will drop down to 3 stars if I keep thinking about the plot more -_- The animation definitely helps to make up a bit for the plot's weaknesses. Visuals on Blu-ray are very detailed whether it's still shots or action scenes. Plenty of blood, explosions, gun-fights, and beauties in glorious HD. I think part of what was missing with this one is a solid soundtrack. The opening and ending themes by Faylan are plenty good, but there really isn't a captivating musical score to enhance every scene. The graphics for Noir weren't very good, but the music was amazing! The English dub isn't distracting either. Found it to be quite well done.
