works well in a variety of light conditions. Auto focus struggles under dimmer light conditions. Manual focus compensates well at that point. It gives very nice results when shooting portraits, and action shots. I am able to capture good images in continuous shooting mode.

A very useful beginner lens that’s good for a low budget

I was impressed with this lens ! Excellent for night time ! The 1.8F really pays off to have with low light . With the right photographer behind the lens you can get some great images .. for under - $150.00 u can’t go wrong

Just a beginner in the realm of DSLR photography so I appreciate the other reviews for this lens; they helped me make a decision on purchase (the price-point doesn't hurt either). So getting this lens out of the box and onto my camera was quick and fast and in no time I was snapping pictures of our dogs with a nice blurred background thanks to the low f stop at 1.8. really makes a huge difference in a picture and I am thrilled to have this lens in my inventory. True to the saying, a picture is worth a thousand words so I'll let the attached photo do the bulk of the talking!

this lens is AMAZING but if you’re looking for a zoom in and out option this is not the right one for you but as far as picture quality ITS WONDERFUL!!!

Bought this for my T7i, primarily for the wide aperture. With such a low price point, I wasn't expecting a lot from the lens, but I have been surprised on multiple fronts. The quick, accurate, silent focus was the first thing that impressed me, and the overall quality of the images followed shortly thereafter. Well worth the money.

As a beginner (just got my camera a few days ago), this lens is fool proof!! Sharp, bright photos every time. I cannot believe the quality of this lens for an affordable amount.

This camera produces great Bokeh in the background and will up your portrait game. I have put it to use for milkway season. This lens allows the aperature to go as low as 1.8, and for the price this is an amazing lens. It is worth the investment for shooting the milkway, and portraits because it performs well in low light conditions.

Excelent , I have the cannon mark II 50 and I buyed the adaptor to use tipe R lents and get this ine since them the game change , absolutely recommended

Ah, the “nifty fifty”! This is without question the best-selling lens from Canon, maybe even of all lenses. Its high price to performance ratio is the reason for this. It can be useful on both crop and full frame, and should probably be every beginners first upgrade lens,

This is a great little nifty fifty portrait lens. It’s very small, light and built with good material. Very versatile for many situations. I definitely recommend this in any photographers bag.

This is an awesome little lens that gets results! At 1.8, the lens is pretty soft and has pretty obvious vignetting. Once you hit 2.8, theres a significant increase in sharpness and vignetting is barely noticeable. Definitely get this if you're on a budget!

I bought this to take pics of my plants for my business and I absolutely love it. Way better than expected.

i purchased this lens after reading several reviews online and it does not disappoint. this lens hasn't left my 6D since i got it. the reason why i'm leaving off a star is because the focus ring has slowly became stiff. it feels like there's debris under it preventing it from twisting smoothly. the autofocus is nice and buttery smooth though. the lens is also very light due to the plastic build, you'll forget it's there most of the time.
