For the price you just can't buy a lens that is as fast (f 1.8) and that is more capable

This lens is one of the cheapest but it does a great job blurring the background. You have to watch its F-stop number though because if you put it too low it only focuses on the first thing it sees and that might not be a face

Honestly I 100% recommend these lenses for beginners.

This is a mighty fine thing. In dark lighting, my hair would blend into the background with my old lens. But this lens lets in more light, so it stands out better.
