Love it. For the price you can’t beat this lens. I’ve had this lens for a few months now and have used it in low light with no problems. Great for portraits and landscapes.

My bf got this lens because he wanted to take more portraits and we've gotten nothing but positive reviews. The pictures turn out perfectly in focus with beautiful fading of the background. Would recommend for everyone!!!

Great starter lens!
Not a macro lens so you can only get so close to a subject and in order to get wider angles, you have to be very far away. Those are about the only downfalls but it is amazing for portraits!

At $125 for an f/1.8 prime lens you can't go wrong. I was struggling to decide between this and the f/1.4, but at 3x the cost I couldn't justify the upgrade. The build quality is on par with what you're paying for it, the only metal to be found is the mount but that keeps the weight low.

I am in love with this lens. I have an older canon camera body and contemplated on buying a newer model, but decided to buy this lens instead. Best choice I've made. I have 3 kids and love to take pictures of them especially at school events and this lens captures the perfect moments. I love the quality of the portrait photos!

An adaptable lens with commendable image quality, well-deserving of the nifty fifty nickname. An outstanding secondary lens to keep handy, & perfect as a prime lens for those on a tight budget

Snapped on easy like any other lens and was instantly satisfied with the quality of pictures I was getting. I didn't think one lens could make such a difference, but it definitely does. If you want a cheap and easy upgrade from a default lens, pick this up.

Dropped my Nikon in the water and bought the canon as a replacement. Picture quality is far superior. Easy to use and it has video. Great price since my Nikon was more money and did not have video.

This 50mm lens will get you your money's worth. Image quality is sharp and the 1.8 aperture really helps in lowlight conditions. The downside is you have to take a couple steps back if the image is too large. The AF is really slow sometime so keep that in mind. Depending on what you're doing this is an all around good lens.

You simply can't go wrong with a Canon "nifty fifty." I've used clones from other manufacturers, but they never come close to quality and build of Canon. A must have for every photographer's arsenal.

I received this lens for Christmas and I absolutely love it! One might say that I'm obsessed with it. It captures wonderful images with beautiful bokeh (blurry background)! I 100% recommend this item!
One thing to recognize is that it is a fixed lens which means that there is no zoom but other than that, it is perfect!

I was debating which prime lense to buy as my first upgrade and I couldn't be happier. The bokeh this lense provides is absolutely amazing. If you're looking for image quality I would recommend staying around f/3.0 or higher. The 1.8 to 3.0 gends to be a little less sharp, but works great in low light.

This is one of my favorite lenses, especially in food photography. I love the warm bokeh effect, the focus and that it can be used in low light situations. My first 50 was dropped, and bought another 50 within days.

When buying this lens I was wondering if I really needed it or would use it. But the manager explained how better quality picture it offers vs the standard lens that comes with the camera. It makes the difference in low lighting rooms and places. Can't even tell because it brightens everything instantly
