Customers highly value the EF50mm F1.8 STM lens's excellent image quality, sharpness, and affordability. Many appreciate its ease of use and ability to create beautiful background blur and portraits. Positive feedback also highlights its lightweight and compact design. However, some users experienced challenges with the autofocus system's performance in low-light situations.

nifty fifty a must have

from beginners to advanced photographers, the nifty fifty is a must have lens. Whether you shoot on APSc or full frame, the 50mm 1.8 is an unbeatable tool. Very small and lightweight, doesn't take up any room in your kit bag, and doesn't add any extra weight or bulk either. Pictures look great straight from 1.8 and only get better when stopped down. Probably not the greatest lens to have on something like a 5dsR, but then again, someone with that camera probably isn't looking at this lens

This is a very inexpensive way to get a f1.8 lens. I got it as part of my transition to full-frame cameras and lenses. Very small, very light, and obviously "fast."
I use it mostly for video, and this is where the small and light becomes a negative. I can't get my follow focus to fit between this lens and anything. I still use it, just requires work-arounds.

My experience with this lens has been nothing but amazing! I love the way it focuses on the subject and how clear the images turn out with it! The different levels of background blur it is able to acheive are absolutley amazing as well! Definelty recommend this to anyone who does a lot of portraits, or photos with main subjects in them!

It is the best choice in my life in electronics. Images are super clear. It focuses distance is very narrow and could blur the background very well. It is also perfect for head shots. Regarding the price, I can say it is a professional lens for a beginner price! If you are a beginner and you want to start imaging with a professional lens, this one is the best one to start.

You can’t go wrong with the nifty 50. Great lens for the price. Great colors, nice and sharp. If you’re starting out and looking for a nice lens that isn’t super expensive, this is your lens. 50mm is a good focal length, too. One thing that takes a little getting used to is the focus-by-wire when you’re using manual focus, but after a little while it’s no big deal. Cheap way to upgrade the quality of your photos!

They call this lens the nifty50 and yes it is! I was using an 18 -135 before and it was great. However, it was lengthy and cumbersome. I bought this lens for the depth of field but didn't realize I would end up using it as my primary lens. Its great for on the go carry and with it installed I can toss my Canon 80D in the glove box with ease. Photos are amazing, its pretty inexpensive and as the other reviews say, should be apart of your collection. I'm a pretty cheap person, and I'd have to say its worth it.

A great, well built prime lens at an excellent price. Perfect for beginners and a must have for all photographers to have in their bag. Get some great shots. Seems pretty quiet and has a surprisingly fast focusing speed. Quality over price can’t be beat with this purchase.
Highly... highly recommend.

I'm a professional photographer and I can highly recommend this lens no matter what your skill level. It's not going to perform as well as the 1.2, but for the cost difference the results have definite value. The lens is much lighter and easier to carry around than the 1.2. The new STM motor is a bit faster and quieter than previous models.

Great price for a even better camera lens. I got exactly what I was looking for with this lens and the shipping was quick (2days)! No problems with the lens and the picture bokeh is very nice with this telephoto lens.
