So Far so Good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This lens seems to be working just fine. I really don't know much about it or photography for that matter. I bought this on recommendation from a friend who shoots a lot. It was super easy to install and the few pictures I've taken look great.

Wonderful bokeh
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decided to try out a prime lens for a T3 rebel and this lens did not disappoint. It's compact enough to leave on the camera, and the focal length is just right for close portrait shots. At f/1.8, the depth-of-field is shallow, which gives great bokeh effects!

great basic lens
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great bokeh, easy to use and good image quality. This is basically the lens that everyone should have on their basic kit. It can also work as macro lens if you buy a reversal ring which is pretty nice too.

Professional Look at Bargain Pricing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I literally bought this lens purely because of price. I also didn't have one in my Arsenal. When I finally took it out on a shoot, I was so surprised at the quality and the depth of field. The pictures had a very professional quality about them.

Great lens for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This lens is on the cheaper side of Canon lenses, but it doesn't fall short. It creates a great background, and it is great for portraits. Wouldn't recommend for landscapes, but definitely creates beautiful images! Very lightweight and works great with my t6s.

Pleasant and fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Aperture aperture aperture. I was so surprised at how pleasant and fun this lens is. It was recommended to me by a store employee and one day I thought why not I’ll buy it it’s only $125. Oh my goodness do I love this lens it is small and lightweight I love it because when I edit my photos I tend to zoom in dramatically on many photos that I take and when I use this lens it minimizes the amount of editing that I do since it shoots at a zoomed in position already. I love that the aperture goes down to 1.8 and I am able to achieve that desire Desired of blurred background look I am now curious at how the $300 50 millimeter lens is going to work.

Nifty Fifty
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The lens that is known as the Nifty Fifty lens is now the one that is attached to my camera while in the camera bag. If I need something quick, it's my goto lens. It is a good all around lens and should be one of your goto lens if on a trip.

Excellent and affordable lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this lens. It is affordable, light-weight and takes beautiful photos. Of course as a prime lens (i. e. not zoom), it has limited versatility, but I am glad that I purchased it.

Great lens for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an essential prime lens for portrait photography. Great price, fast glass, making it decent in low light situations. Good bokeh too. It is a little slow to focus, but the pros outweigh the cons on this one. You won't go wrong with this entry level lens.

Great buy for older dSLR Canon Cameras
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well, I expewcted it to be noisy based on other reviews but was nearly silent when I used it. It focus searches a little when attached to extension tubes (copying old negatives), but it gets there. A sharp lens.

Way better for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price this lens is excellent especially compared the f1.4 version that's more than 2x the price. The autofocus is a bit slow but I chalk that up to my camera. Image quality is excellent and comprable to the more expensive f1.4 lens
