I have always been a fan of 50mm lenses. This one is sharp and really everything you could want in a fast prime. Wide aperture, quick and accurate autofocus, and great depth of field. Even if this is not your main lens, its great to keep in the camera bag as an option. For the price, you really cant go wrong!

I purchased this lens to take pictures of my new grand child and it does a wonderful job of taking clear pictures with a slightly blurred background! I wish I had this years ago!

I am amazed by this lens quality at this price. It's perfect for beginners and gives a nice blurry background in your pictures. It's not bulky and can be carried around easily. I am loving it!

This lens is well made. It take nice, clear pictures. The f1.8 aperture allows you to take pictures with out of focus backgrounds to help draw attention to your subject; much better than any kit lens.

Yeah $125 doesn’t sound cheap but, lens are more that $400, and this lens is the best for portraits, good quality, small, lightweight, tbh, it’s amazing overall.

Love this lens! Bought it for my friends wedding. Amateur photographer and heard a lot of good things about this lens and for the price, it really is a steal. Must have lens.

Crispy images even in a lower light with this lens. If I had the money I'd go all out and get the 1.2 of course, but in a pinch this has done so well and I am proud to show others my photos and even sell them when they are taken with this. Would buy again over and over, never buying the 1.2 unless I truly needed that extra bokeh.

This is, without a doubt, the single best lens you can buy for under $150. It captures images so crisp and clear, and the focusing is really really fast and accurate. I would suggest this as a first lens if you are buying a camera body without a kit lens. Being 50mm, the bokeh on this lens is so beautiful and soft, it makes your subjects stand out perfectly. Best lens with great aperture light settings. The photos comes very sharp and perfect. At this price this is the best lens for personal and professional use.

Exactly what I needed. Quality lens. Great price. I highly recommend it. Canon lenses are great quality at a reasonable cost.

Always a great classic. Small, compact and powerful. Great but for first time photographers.

Needed prom and graduation pictures and researched Canon lenses and saved lots of money not having to hire a professional. Quality was great and lens is very easy to use.

The nifty fifty. Excellent quality as expected. Mounted on a SL2. Metal mount. Does require a bit of moving around to capture, and a bit of learning for beginners. Does great with night shots. Someone mentioned if you turn it around and hold it to the body, you can use it as a macro lens. Have not tried it yet, nice idea if it works. No stabilization, recommend timer and tripod for darker shots. Bokeh effect, NICE.

Perfect lens if you’re starting out and don’t know how to adjust your settings and want that “blurred” background look! I love this lens so much! Highly recommend

This is the first lens you should buy after your kit lens. It will be able to give you that special “look” that you can’t get from your phone or the kit lens. Bokeh or the blurry background effect is what I’m talking about. This lens is awesome, quiet, fast, and creates a great image. Do not buy one of those expensive af lenses until you buy this one and master it. Zoom is overrated and it’s a gimmick to sell you something you’ll never use. You will however take portraits of people with this lens. Get it. Enjoy it. Laugh at the “Johnson’s” for spending thousands on an “L” lens that you take better pictures than with this lens.

I’m not a professional by any means but this lens is amazing at portraits for my kids. I’m so happy with this purchase
