My old 50mm 1.8 died. The focus ring and all. Won a 50mm 1.4 and almost talked myself out of replacing the 1.8. So glad that I didn't. This lens may be small but it's mighty. It's DEFINITELY one to have in your bag for great images.

Despite many reviews calling this lens cheap due to its mainly plastic build, it really does hold up to Canon's quality. The base plate is metal and the construction tight. The stepping motor gives a quick focus and the lens renders an overall nice image. Worth every penny.

Its a must buy lens and works perfectly for close up shots. This lens delivers very sharp images inexpensively. Its very fast, small and lightweight. I bought it with my best buy credit card and got an extra discount and points on it. This prime lens does what your default camera lens can't. Happy Clicking!

I am a beginner in the DSRL world, but after watching a few videos in YouTube I decided to buy this lense, and do not regret it. It gives a very nicely effect for blurry backgrounds (don’t know the right terminology), and also it forces me to move to get the right spot to get everything in frame.

This is the first new lense I've purchased outside of the kit lens that came with my T3i. I have to say, this lense made my pictures come out looking like I was a professional and really did way more than I could've expected. I bought it mainly to take portraits of my family and quickly realized it's very versatile! Best Buy price matches and no matter how small the price match, they are willing to help. Definitely go buy this lense! It's worth every penny and honestly probably double.

I'm new to photography and this is the first non-kit lens that I bought. I did read several reviews first, so I know it's not top of line, but it's a really great value for the money. It is worth every penny, and now I use it all the time. I love it--it really will take your photos up a notch.

always good to keep a 50mm in my lenses, I honestly prefer the look and materials used in this one than the second version of it

Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM standard lens has fixed focus. This was major reason, why I bought this lens with intention to use it for astrophotography. So far it works as I expected, pictures are pretty good.

Great all around lens for sharp pictures. Very compact and easy to stowaway in just about any camera bag. This lens should cost more than it does and because it is so cheap it is a must have in any camera bag

I had shopped for the "nifty fifty" at several online and store front locations. Walking in to Best Buy and carrying the lens out so I could use it immediately, and not having to wait on delivery, was what I needed. Screw it on the camera body, focus, and push the shutter button is what its about!

I use this lens almost every shoot. Make sure to keep your receipt or use your rewards card membership when buying for proof of purchase. This is my second lens as I broke my previous and was not able to provide proof of purchase within the year because I didn’t have my original receipt.

Bought this for my daughter since she love to take photo and she loves it. Prior to buying this I did a lot of research and this is the best buy for the buck from upgrading from the kit lens. You can't go wrong with this lens.

Lens takes amazing photos and is much better than a kit lens for shooting portrait style photos. It does not offer the same range as the distance is not adjustable, but it allows a lot of light in and can look great in any lighting, even low lighting. Overall amazing lens, especially for the price.

I have this lens now for 5 months and I love it. The pictures are crisp and the bokeh are just perfect. Plus you could barely hear it focusing when shooting videos. The best bang for the money.

Its a pretty good lens for its price. Captures great images with bokeh effect and is suitable for portraits. The low light performance is also great. If you have a canon DSLR and looking to get your first lens then look no further. Value for money guaranteed.
