The “nifty fifty” is really just a great do it all type of lens. I have a DSLR just for family pictures and I always get great shots of my kids with this. It’s barely left my camera since I bought it.

This is my first prime lens. I use it only cropped sensor camera, so 50mm is is more like a 75mm. But the pictures are crisp and beautiful, also great in low light.

Got this lens to use for portrait type pictures and was not disappointed! Love the low fstop settings for a nice blur to the background. Have had a blast experimenting with it. It has been a great addition to my equipment wish I would have bought it sooner!

This lens is an outstanding addition to my collection. I shoot a lot of pictures in low light gymnastics venues with not flash. This lense allows me to work in tighter spaces than my 70-200 f 2.8 does without loss of quality. Definitely money well spent.

This lens makes using the Canon cameras so much more enjoyable than the standard Kit Lens most of them come with. It's not multi-purpose like the kit lens is, but this should be an automatic inclusion when you buy your camera. It's THAT good.

Great value prime, with excellent brokeh at 1.8 though it really starts to clear up by 2.2 and fantastic sharpness at 2.8. Though my only complaint is unless your on a full frame 50 mm can be a little tight for my only prime and wish I had gone with a wider lens

I got this lens because I hear so much about it. I put it on my eos 70D and it really shoots a clear picture. I shoot alot of urban and landscapes. I think it's going to do the job well. I was amazed at the picture quality just shooting around the house.

This is a great little lense for working wedding receptions and similar venues. A 50 mm is great staple to have in your kit and gives a nice shallow depth of field.

This was my first prime lens, and while it may not feel like a Sigma Art lens in your hand it's astonishing for the value. Picture quality is quite nice for the money.
