This lens is a MUST
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This lens makes using the Canon cameras so much more enjoyable than the standard Kit Lens most of them come with. It's not multi-purpose like the kit lens is, but this should be an automatic inclusion when you buy your camera. It's THAT good.

You Get What you Pay For, Sometimes A Little Extra
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my first prime lens, and while it may not feel like a Sigma Art lens in your hand it's astonishing for the value. Picture quality is quite nice for the money.

Great starter prime at a great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great value prime, with excellent brokeh at 1.8 though it really starts to clear up by 2.2 and fantastic sharpness at 2.8. Though my only complaint is unless your on a full frame 50 mm can be a little tight for my only prime and wish I had gone with a wider lens

Better than expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this lens because I hear so much about it. I put it on my eos 70D and it really shoots a clear picture. I shoot alot of urban and landscapes. I think it's going to do the job well. I was amazed at the picture quality just shooting around the house.

STARTER LENS
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great starter or basic lens and is helping me be able to take better pictures of my family. I am currently attempting to learn more about taking pictures and photography and this lens is good for that purpose. As I learn more I will upgrade but so far the picture quality difference between this and a standard lens is awesome. I wish you could zoom with the lens but as I stated its a starter lens. I recommend.

This is the 1.8 you want!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I encourage you to read reviews and check YouTube videos on this product vs. the other versions. The metal casing on this 1.8 STM feels solid and the gearing is quiet/smooth. Takes amazing shots! I recommend tracking down the lens hood (ES-68) to prevent flares.

Amazing sharp photos
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing lens that takes beautiful photos. Only downfall being that there is no zoom with it being a prime lens but the sharpness it produces is worth the trade.

A must have for intermediate to advanced
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great 'little' lens and is a must if you shoot any type of portrait or low light scenes. I've used it at Jazz fest., evening nights on the lake and still life and landscape shots. All of which were enhanced with the EF 50mm f/1.8.
