Not silent. But decent performer otherwise
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace my EF-50 1.8 II, thinking it would be silent and focus noises wouldn't be evident in the recordings. Alas, the focus noises are lessened, but still audible in the on camera mic. They are quieter when the camera is in video mode, and the focusing is smoother, but I don't know that I would have bought the lens if I had known it. If you don't, and have a Canon DSLR, it is a no-brainer purchase.

Great Value for the money. Fantastic boquet

Zoom is a bit much for group photos, but it works if you have enough distance between you and the subject.

Big improvement from the previous model

Honestly, after renting the pricier 1.4, I went with the new STM 1.8. It's just THAT good.

Awesome lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this lens! The only thing I didn't realize until after I bought it was I own a camera that is not full frame so it acts more like an 85mm lens. But it still takes beautiful pictures. Very happy.

Excellent lense for low price
