We haven’t had a decent photo printer in a while and once I saw what the price was for this new Pixma printer for Cannon I had to try it out.
Unboxing and Setup:
The printer came packaged in a Styrofoam frame and was very well protected. In the box with the printer were the ink cartridges, power cord, USB Cable, manual and installation CD, they even included 3 sheets of photo paper for you to try out.
After taking the printer out and removing the plastic bag around it there were instructions showing that there were some packing tapes that had to be removed. One of the pieces goes under the lid to the print cartridge carrier and you have to be careful removing that one as it goes just under the print heads. After removing all of that, attaching the power cord and plugging it in you press the power button located just above the right side of the paper output tray.
The display is pretty small but it’s usable and tells you to install all the cartridges. Just follow the instructions printed on each cartridge and install them. There two black cartridges, one is used for regular txt and the other is for photo printing.
After installing the cartridges the printer goes through a print alignment test and with this one it’s all automatic and you don’t have to do a thing, just let it go about its business until it’s finished.
This one doesn’t have an Ethernet jack, and only had a USB port if you want to physically have it attached; we used the Wi-Fi connection in our case.
After doing that I followed the instructions and used the Canon setup website and downloaded the install software. That software found the printer quickly and setup all the printing functions without a hitch. I also installed the app on my S9 to give it a tryout and it found and setup the printer without issue also.
Actual Use:
Printing with this was as simple as all the other printers we have, it’s starts printing very quickly and is surprisingly quiet. The paper tray is pretty small, and only holds a fifth of what our laser printers hold. Text is nice and sharp, very clean and clear, very comparable to our other ink jets and close to laser printer quality. There’s a light bar above the output tray that moves as it prints giving a visual indicator of printing progress, this is super handy because I can see it across the room where we have it installed. The paper output tray is also different; it slides out by itself once the unit starts printing. You have to manually push it back after printing but not having to remember to pull it out is a nice touch.
Now I wanted to try something difficult for it to copy and tried a sheet of coupons from our Safeway store. The coupon sheet was printed on glossy paper and I didn’t expect it to do that great of a job, was I ever surprised. The print quality from just using plain old paper turned out so close to the original we were both impressed. Next we tried some pictures using glossy photo paper. There’s a manual feed tray on the back of the unit that pulls up out of the unit. It’s completely hidden and you really wouldn’t know it’s there at all, a very nice design touch. As far as the quality of the photos, we were both really amazed, they came out looking every bit as good as the box store prints we’ve gotten lately.
Summary:
This new Cannon printer is really impressive, it’s very very quiet when printing, a lot quieter than our laser printers. It’s plenty fast for home use, and the print quality for photos “if you are looking for a photo printer”, are simply outstanding. It’s also very compact and doesn’t take up near as much desk space as any of our laser printers do, less than half the size.
I do like that it has separate black for photos so you aren’t using up the regular black cartridge while printing photos. The cost of replacement print cartridges is very reasonable compared to our other inkjet. Scanning was simple enough, and was able to scan documents without a problem from my Windows PC. I also gave the app a try on my phone and printed out a few emails and a PDF that I downloaded. It worked perfectly without a problem also. The only thing I have a problem with is how small the display is and for me it’s a little hard to read but it is functional.
So if you are looking for an inexpensive color inkjet printer that is very capable of making great looking color copies and excellent photo prints take a hard look at this new Pixma from Canon.

I absolutely love this printer!!!
Setup was a bit difficult as I don’t have a good WiFi connection, so I had to use Bluetooth.
It took maybe an hour of back and forth trying different connection methods.
It was worth the mild frustration after seeing the awesome print quality at a pretty fast for standard printing. Also, it was on sale, so that was a MAJOR +!!! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

After testing this printer for 3 days (Windows 7 and iphone 6) I finally feel like I know and understand it. I have more respect for it than I did the first day! The initial set up was relatively easy and took about an hour from unbox to final set up of PC and phone. I used the instructions found at ij.start.canon/TS6320. I had to use a combination of the written on-line instructions, on-line videos and printed Quick Start guide. I will say that it probably would’ve gone more quickly if I hadn’t tried to connect the phone and PC simultaneously. The phone initially would not connect, but when I retried after the PC set up was complete, it connected immediately.
The printer has a multitude of options and settings. I would advise downloading the 460 page manual at usa.canon.com to become familiar with them. The cool thing is that if Troubleshooting or Manual is selected from the printer display, there is a QR button on the printer that brings up a QR code for instant on-line help from a phone.
The printer has 2 cassettes – one in the rear for photo paper and one in the front for copy paper. The print quality was almost as good as I get with my laser printers. It does do double sided printing. The copy function worked well, although it takes about 5 steps: Menu/Copy Settings/Copies(1)/OK/Start. Picture quality was excellent. Printing pictures was easy from either the PC or phone: select a picture/select print. Initially all the pictures were printing on copy paper, but by using the 460 page manual, I found how to adjust the settings for the rear paper tray.
Scanning using the IJ Scan Utility worked very well. The utility brings up a table with multiple product names. Clicking on an option starts the scan – so remember to insert the document before clicking.
There is a light bar across the front that lights up when using the printer and a small section of it stays on for some undetermined time afterwards. Not sure what the purpose is.
The manufacturer’s statement that it holds 100 sheets of paper seemed a little exaggerated. The paper tray is very shallow and I could only fit 50 sheets into it. The rear paper tray is for thicker photo paper and 30 sheets filled it to capacity. The most annoying thing for me was the paper output tray. It normally stays inside, but when selecting print or copy, it shoots out the front and knocks off anything in front of it. Total required depth with rear paper tray and output tray extended is 24 inches which makes it a little large for my space. But the good thing is that it’s wireless and I can move it to a place where the output tray won’t be an issue. Printing seemed a touch slow, but there is the initial lag time while the output tray shoots out. Leaving it out would resolve the issue. The printer is also quite noisy and makes about 20 seconds of noise after every print session. Using the Quiet mode didn’t seem to help much. But its good points far outweigh the bad.

Low Cost Printer/Scanner

The Canon Pixma TS6320 is a small form factor light sub $100 printer. It comes with a standard power cord (no power brick to deal with), 3 sheets of glossy 5x5 paper, software CD, and setup booklet. Setup is straight forward as all you need to do on a Mac is go to the canon website, download the .dmg file, run it, and follow the on-screen instructions. Alignment of the print cartridges takes between 6 and 10 minutes. After that, the setup program will help you get the printer connected to either WiFi or through a USB cable (USB cable not included). Canon also provides an app for iOS available for download from the app store. I didn't have any problems with the iOS app and getting it connected to the printer.
As far as the construction goes, the main body of the printer is made of decent plastic, but the paper tray and lid for the scanner bed is made of cheap light plastic. Most people probably won't have a problem with it, however, if you are prone to being rough with your tech, you may find that it gets broken in time. If you have kids using this printer, expect the cover for the scanner to get broken in time. For a printer that is around $70, we shouldn't expect unbreakable construction. With that said, a typical person probably won't have a problem with it. I printed two images on two of the 3 provided 5x5 sheets of glossy paper. One of the photos was printed boarderless. Both turned out well. I was surprised at the quality. I printed text on plain 8 1/2 x 11 paper. I wasn't able to see any bleeding of the text or anything else, just smooth looking text. With the multiple options for wireless connectivity and it's form factor, you are getting a printer that you might typically see priced $20-$40 more. If you are just using this printer for printing 8 1/2 x 11 documents, the occasional personal photo, and aren't a printing professional photos, then this may fit the bill for your needs. Dropping a star due to the quality of the scanner cover and paper tray (it's very light plastic).

Initial impression:
I was looking forward to reviewing this printer. I have used Canon printers for photo printing in the past, but not one this inexpensive.
The packing of the printer was good, and the unit arrived undamaged. It came with the printer, ink, a quick start guide, a setup CD for Windows, and a sample package of 5” x 5” photo paper. It has a USB type B connector but does not come with a USB cable.
The top scanner cover is a little thin, but that doesn’t really bother me as it won’t be used that much. It does seem strong enough to be used normally on a regular basis without getting damaged.
I have the white printer and the aesthetics are pleasing. The base size is normal for an inkjet printer. The depth is around 14”, but you will lose another 5” when you use the rear paper tray. The height is only 5-1/2” tall, which gives the printer a sleek look.
Setup:
I unpackaged the printer, removed the shipping tape, installed the ink, and powered it up. These tasks for this printer were typical of any inkjet printer. Installing ink was easy. In addition to the cyan, yellow, and magenta color ink cartridges, it also comes with two black ink cartridges: one for documents and one for photo printing.
I started the installation on my Windows 7 desktop. I went to the website given in the installation manual that came with the printer. I selected my printer via model number and the setup began. When going through the setup, make sure you read the instructions carefully. Some of the screens have 2 buttons and both look like it could be the correct button. Reading the instructions completely on each page clarifies which button to click on. The setup is divided into 2 parts, configuring the printer and connecting the printer. The printer setup section went flawless. The only problem I had with this printer was connecting it to my wireless network.
Following the directions on the website for connecting the printer, it found my wireless network, but would not connect. So, I ended up having to connect to my wireless network manually. Once that was done, it searched for the printer and couldn’t find it. I verified that it was connected to my wireless network. I let it search by IP address and it immediately found it and installed the drivers. The rest of the installation went well.
The next step was to connect it to my MacBook Pro. I went to the same website and skipped the printer configuration section and went directly to the connect section. The same thing happened as with the Windows setup, it couldn’t find the printer, even though it was already connected to my wireless network. I let it search via the IP address, and it immediately found the printer and installed the drivers.
The last connections were to my iPad, my iPhone 11 and my wife’s Samsung S10. I downloaded the Canon app from each app store and installed them. All three devices immediately found the printer.
Testing:
For testing, I used my Windows 7 desktop, my MacBook Pro, my iPad, and both phones. Documents were really good. All text was clear and crisp, the colors were sharp, and there was no bleeding between the colors. This was especially true with small text. I tried various documents from all devices and the results were the same. Photo printing quality was also good. The colors are bright and the image clear. I even printed a night-shot photograph that I took from The Grand Canyon showing the stars and Milky Way. All the colors were amazing. The only problem I experienced with the photo printing was ink buildup along the edges. I’m not sure why it is doing this, but it did it on every photo I printed. The paper was HP semi-gloss paper and is about 8 years old, so that might have something to do with it. I also wasn’t using borderless printing, and that could also have something to do with it. See the attached photo I took of a desert rose to see the ink buildup.
During my test, the only print error I received other than the wireless connection problem was “paper not loaded in the rear tray” when there was paper in it. Pulling the rear paper support all of the way out and adjusting the side paper guides a little tighter removed this error.
Conclusion:
This is a remarkable printer for the price. The print speed is faster than all of the inkjet printers I have used, and the phone app is the best I have experienced for smart device printing. Using the printer is especially easy with smart devices and tablets. All prints were bright, clear, and crisp, and I have not found any information about ink buildup with this printer which I looked for, so it could have been the paper or printer settings. There was no ink buildup when printing regular documents, so I’m assuming it wasn’t the printer’s fault.
I’m rating this printer a 4 out of 5, mainly because of the connection problems. I am a 20-year IT professional, so I had no problem working around it. But for someone who isn’t WiFi savvy, it might give them troubles. Had it not given me any connection problems I would have rated it a 5 out of 5. It is an amazing printer for the cost.

Canon Really Hits Their Mark on This!

I don’t print in high volumes but I use a printer for online recipes, emails, schedules and the occasional photo! This printer is replacing a 5 year old HP and really is impressive!
THE BEST THING about this printer is the photo quality for sure! I have Canon Cameras and HD video cameras because Canon produces some of the best optical equipment in the world and it stands to reason that their printers would produce incredible pictures as well! I printed out a 4x6 photo from a recent hike my wife and I took and compared it to a print I sent into one of the drug stores to be printed and hands down the Canon print beat the drug stores print by far! The Canon photo was brighter more detailed and really captured the moment! Bravo Canon! I mentioned earlier that I printed the “occasional photo” because my old printer did not do as good a job as the drug stores fancy printer did but this Canon changes all that!
I also love the small form factor. It is sleek, low profile and well designed. It doesn’t take up a ton of room on my desk! It spits out text documents quickly and one thing I really appreciate that Canon did was when you print, the tray automatically extends out so as to catch the paper as it is printed. My other printer would let the paper spill out onto my floor when I printed out a recipe on my iPad from the kitchen… it’s a little thing but a feature that I really love every time I hit print!
I also really like the connected features. I linked my Canon account with my Google home account and I can talk to my printer anywhere in the house. It’s more novel than anything at this point but I will being playing around with it to see just what google and Canon can do together! So far I have asked it to print out a “list”. Which is a blank check sheet I can write on for groceries or chores for the day with little boxes to check off as I go. Pretty cool. I also have set it up with the Canon Print app for ISO on my iPhone. Super cool. I scanned a picture strait form the scanner to my iPhone! I can also print from iPhone and IPAD which is very convenient or receive scans! The canon print app for mobile devices is really user friendly!
I did have some trouble setting up the scan to my IMAC but I think it was more to do with me as it scans just fine to my phone. Canon has nice QR links that send you to a video tutorial and a helpful forum section on their webpage for help if needed.
Over all I am really happy with this little printer! I would recommend it to anyone! If you needed a high volume printer for big business, this is probably not that but for home office or photo enthusiasts who just need an awesome photo printer/copier/ scanner… Canon’s got your printer!

I don't think there is such thing as a perfect printer, and if there was, it would be so only to the one reviewing it.
This printer stands out in many ways. It has a clean, sleek look (mine is white), and the exterior features (buttons, trays, cartridge access) are easy to use. There are a lot of options crammed into the menu button on the printer itself, so it can be slightly difficult to find the exact option you need until you find it that first time. Also, the lid lifts up to give access to the cartridge bay, but it doesn't lift very high, so if the printer has poor lighting around it, it can be very hard to access the cartridges. However, the small display is still very clear, and the sleek lighting effect above the output tray will display light motion to indicate activity, or change to an orange color if there is a problem (such as out of paper).
The setup of this printer was not the easiest I have ever experienced. I worked for a few years in I.T., so I'm quite comfortable with technology and setting up new devices. When you first turn the printer on, it will walk you through a few basic configurations, but from there, it depends on how you want to set it up - via the printer manually, through a mobile device, or through the computer.
I started by trying to setup it up with my iPhone (iOS 13 at the time of this writing). I downloaded the app from the App Store and followed the instructions, which were not too difficult. I displayed a message stating it could take up to 2 minutes to connect. I had to acknowledge a couple of security prompts, but after 10 minutes it never connected. I tried 2 more times, including disabling the VPN on my phone, but I could not get it to connect no matter what I did. Thumbs down on this.
Knowing that a printer like this should operate independently of a computer, I tried connecting it to my WiFi from the printer. I do not used WPS for security reasons (Google it, you'll see why), so I had to type in the entire password to my network on a screen that does not even have a number pad, let alone a QWERTY keyboard. Not fun, but I got it done and connected it to the network. At this point, I could go into my photos on my iPhone and attempt to print a picture, and this printer did show up as an option.
I then tried to connect my Windows 10 computer to it. I normally start by downloading software from the manufacturer's website in order to get the latest version. However, the site offered me two different driver packages, and I wasn't sure which I would need. I plugged in my external DVD drive and used the included disk to try to install the software. Ironically, the default setup program on the disk just takes you to the website, but it also walks you through the setup of the printer from the moment you take it out of the box. As a side note, this is also available on your mobile device by simply scanning the QR code. It's a silent video, but it will walk someone who is not comfortable with this process step-by-step.
I finally arrived on a webpage that allowed me to download the drivers for the printer. It took a few minutes, but was relatively easy.
As for the printing part, this printer is rather quick. It's not the quietest printer I've ever heard, but it's far from the noisiest. One consistency that I have personally always experienced with Canon printers - fantastic photo quality, horrible text quality. This printer doesn't disappoint in that area. The photo quality is great, but the text, at least in normal mode, is far from crisp. If you need a quality text print from this, definitely turn the quality up to High. If you're printing a recipe for tonight's dinner, Normal or even Draft is acceptable.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this printer. I have not reached the point of gauging the cartridge life on this printer, but since it uses separate cartridges for each color, including a photo black, at least I'm not wasting magenta because I ran out of yellow, unlike some printers (cough! cough!).

This printer seems really flimsy and arrived with dirty fingerprints on it. I did not order a refurbished printer. The setup was supposed to be easy but out of the box I was given an error 5011 and after an hour of internet research and attempts to fix it, I am just going to return it.

This wireless printer is much faster than our much older Canon model and was super easy to setup with our computers and phones. The whole thing is much more compact than our older model and fits nicely on the shelf. The only downside is that it has run low on ink very quickly, but that's pretty much expected with the "starter" ink that comes with the printer from past experience.

I had to quickly order a printer during the pandemic. It can quicker than expected. This printer is compact and doesn't take up a lot of space. I thought I was getting a printer that didn't require multiple cartridges, however this requires 5. All five small cartridges were included. Easy hook up to wifi and it can printer from phone. I haven't used that option yet. It holds a small amount of paper. I noticed when printing two sheets of paper of the same document it automatically printed double side. It has other features I have yet to use.
Just a note on connecting wifi to printer, if it doesn't connect right away and you've pressed multiple buttons, you must clear the error by unplugging for at least an hour so it can connect to wifi.
So far so good.

I bought HP back in the day, then really liked the Epson printers, bought the WorkForce line for my business use and their premium line for photos. My last Epson printer died in 2 years so I thought I would try this Canon printer.
This printer is awesome! The quality was above what I expected, photographs come out spot on, great color matching works great off the phone or from Adobe Light Room on my Mac. The document 2 sided printing is fast and spot on.
I am surprised how nice the software is, in my opinion better than Epson, this has really surprised me, I didn't expect this from Canon. Oh ya and good quality on the hardware, feels less flimsy than Epson also.
The last time I bought a Canon printer was in 2008, was a large format specialty printer for photographs, was over a grand, this printer does a much better job with photographs, amazing.

I've had this for a few months now, and l like it! Setup was easy. Like the app - my wife emailed me a flyer she wanted to print for her work, and I did it from my phone without even having to get up and go into my home office. Printed a sample photo - looked just fine. Print speed is much better than my old HP. Only issue is the whole thing seems delicate - paper trays, etc. are made of lightweight, thin plastic. I'm handling with care.

Very easy to connect phones ,tablet for wireless printing with the app. Would have prefered black but not available. Color prints look great. Scanning/copying very simple. Cartridges easy to install, still using the included ones. I bought backups right away because on of the reasons for retiring my HP was not being able to find cartridges anymore. The auto open tray is a nice feature too. Receives data and prints quickly. Very satisfied so far in this first month.

Excellent all in one printer that is reasonably priced. Easy set up and communication between devices. Various connectability via wired, wireless, network printing makes this ideal for a college student with multiple devices. Individual ink cartriges make an affordable self print and is worth the upgrade over models that use a combined cartridge... worth it in the long run.

While the statement of you get what you pay for is usually negative in connotation, it isn't in the case of this printer. Light, easy to set up, decent (10ppm) printing, and OK scanner, it's a no-brainer for a simple home office.
Pros: home network connectivity, small size, color, print for your mobile device
Cons: small paper capacity, will shake your desk while printing
