I have the largest Canon flash, older but compatible model, and it's powerful but large and heavy. Also, compared to slide film, d-slr are more light sensitive and don't require as much flash power. I also have the smallest unit which is light and portable but lacks sufficient light output for larger spaces and distances. This unit is an ideal blend with sufficient power and features

Flash covers a wide range, even in almost darkness conditions. Surprised when faced with spotting onstage lighting, flash evened out the lighting, amazing results with skin tones. Results were beyond my expectations with large groups and small close ups as well. Thank you Canon.

This is a good flash for Canon SLRs. It's not too heavy, and it tilts and rotates. Carrying case and stand are included (for remote flash shooting). Lighting quality is good - much better than onboard flash on a Rebel, for example. My one minor complaint is that the rubber buttons are very mushy and difficult to activate (especially if you have big fingers). This could have been easily fixed. But overall, good flash and good value.

Hello, I purchased this flash unit for indoor photography where the light is usually poor in many ways. When shooting without a flash, I had no choice but to crank up the ISO, open up my aperture and turn down my shutter speeds. All recipes for a disastrous photo shoot. When using this flash, I was able to shoot at 100 ISO, 1/200th shutter speeds and at any aperture setting I desired. I used the flash ONLY for bouncing off the ceiling and my pictures were very natural looking, as if I hadn't use a flash at all. Another thing I loved about using the flash was being able to capture only the light bounced off the ceiling which allowed me to get very accurate colors regardless of other lighting sources. I used an Expodisc (white balance tool) to measure the light bouncing off the ceiling and set that image to my custom white balance which gave me accurate colors every time. Love it!

Diffantly a must have, it's the middle range Flash before stepping up to the big boy, but at a way cheaper price. Just starting into photography and this flash has diffantly has helped my pictures have more professional look. Hope you enjoy as much as i have.

I was not happy with indoor photos using the built-in flash on my Canon EOS T3i. The speedlite flash has made all the difference. Using the angling ability of the flash, I've been able to really improve photo quality. I highly recommend this flash.

Purchased this for my daughter, was looking for a better light source

I bought this to go with my Canon T2i. I put in some batteries, attached to hot shoe and started snapping away. Very simple to use for an amateur like me. Anxious to learn more techniques on flash photography.
